The store also will not take business from a law abiding United States permanent resident, while mentioning nonsense problems that is nonexistent for other gun stores. I saw the store on my way up Rt 40 and decided to bring my 25 year old unused guns to have them looked at. I was interested in getting back into target shooting as well as being prepared for protecting my home. I wanted them to check out my guns (shotgun and (2) 9mm hand guns) since I had them in storage for 25 years. I wanted to have them checked out by a professional and see if they would still be operable. The gentleman actually took each one, while I waited, and worked the action and walked through some check list to make sure they were ok. After he finished he told me to clean them and then I would be good to go. He didn't charge me anything even though I offered to pay. That's why I am now going back to get ammo and purchasing another shotgun from them. That's what I call taking care of the customer. read more

I am very happy with my purchases and the respect that I received coming into the shop. All 3 of the guys were friendly and knowledgeable. We even comfortably talked light politics and gun rights. The process was smooth and simple. The prices were awesome. I definitely recommend that you purchase your weapon from the gun connect or just stop by and look for what you may want in the future. This shop has been hit or miss for me, no pun intended. They walked me through getting a pistol and were pleasant about it and made it relatively painless. However, afterwards when I started asking questions about other products, that's when I got a bad taste in my mouth and saw some flaws in their customer service. More on that later... Transfer fees are pretty average, ammo is fairly priced, but... some of their guns are overpriced compared to other local shops. I understand they need to keep the lights on, but asking $100 more for a S&W M&P9 just looks bad when I can go down the road and save $$$. They also have limited accessories. This markup and lack of grab & go accessories cost them 1 star. The woman with the big boobs who works there has always treated me well, as has the younger guy who works there. Not once did it feel like they were talking down to me. The older guy who runs the place on the other hand could stand to improve his customer service skills. Saying he rubs people the wrong way is an understatement. As another review stated he borders on being rude, and this sentiment has been pointed out to me by everyone I know who referring the shop to me to check out. This lack of customer service cost them a second star. Don't get me wrong, they all know their stuff, but the way that one guy conveys that knowledge has a really negative vibe for some reason. If you can look past that and need to grab some ammo, then Gun Connection will be just fine. If you know exactly what you want, and don't intend to browse or ask questions, this place will be just fine. Due to a board I follow where most people rave about GC, I went well out of my way to not only drive to GC but return there and buy weapons several times. I'm sorry to say that each time the experience has been lacking. Three for three times I've been argued with over if I "really want that"... Or "it's your money, but if it were me..." But it's not you, it's me. I am a Marine Corps Marksmanship Instructor, Armorer, and shooting enthusiast. I know what I want and when I go in to order a weapon, the expectation is that my order (and money) will be taken with courtesy and professionalism. What I got made me feel like I was wrong for my preference in weapons, or at least that it was a hassle to order one. I really wanted to like Dan and Harry... But I've taken my money elsewhere since and have been happier for it. read more

This place is actually really cool. There are a couple gun stores nearby, but they are run by people who have no real knowledge of the weapons they are selling and, in general, they are ridiculously overpriced. I saw gun connection while driving to Harford County from Baltimore (almost on accident) and decided to stop by. I ended up buying a Gen4 Glock 26, practically entirely due to the knowledge and politeness of the owners. From what I can tell, they are twins and they are the nicest gun shop owners I have seen in the Northeast US. I would absolutely recommend them, their prices are fair, they are very knowledgeable and they are nice guys. read more

Amazing. I could rant about this business all day, but in the interest of YOUR time, I'll keep it short. Most gun shops have cocky, know-it-all employees who look down on someone who isn't the world's foremost expert on the gun(s) they own, or the one they're looking at. Not so at Gun Connection. I was new to Maryland and wanted to pick up a gun (or three), but I wasn't sure where to go. I spent a lot of time looking and comparing places, reading reviews, and finally decided to visit Gun Connection. I wasn't disappointed. The shop is family owned, and the two brothers who currently run it are extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and there to ensure that you understand the firearm you're purchasing. The want to make sure that you're safe with it and understand its basic working. Some gunshops might bite your head off if you call a magazine a "clip" or say you want a "Glock 9" when you really mean a Glock in a 9mm variant, but that wasn't the vibe I got from this place. I ended up purchasing a Glock 17 (yes, 9mm) and Ruger 10/22 from them. I also plan to finish my M4 with them as well. read more

I've never written a review on Yelp, but I felt obligated to do so after my first (and definitely last) experience at Gun Connection. I went into Gun Connection on Friday to buy a handgun. Going to a gun store, I figured they'd be perfect to accomplish this reasonably simple transaction. Man, was I ever wrong. When I first walked in, I felt my appearance interrupted their game of "Name that Ford Engine" because I was immediately met with hostility and resentment for invading their gun cave. For the remainder of my thankfully limited interaction with them, the good old boys behind the counter were rude and condescending. On top of their cheery demeanor, they were completely misinformed of the gun laws of the state and spewed their ignorance as unquestionable truth. And for whatever reason, they tried to intimidate me from not buying a handgun under some convoluted notion the Federal government would be hunting me down years from now to prosecute me for legally buying a handgun. Conspiracy theories aside, I don't think it's a solid business plan for a gun shop to dissuade its potential customers from buying a firearm. In conclusion, my experience at Gun Connection was short and painful. I wouldn't recommend anyone but proctologists go there. I really liked the fact that they had all the custom aftermarket accessories in stock and they built the entire rifles while I waited. I have bought many guns from this shop. The staff is always very helpful and friendly. They will answer all questions and I have seen them be very helpful to customers who were obvious first time gun buyers. As in all business, certain days of the week are very busy and with a small staff and the attention they give to each customer things get a little hectic, but be smart and come during a less busy day and your service will be quicker for obvious reasons. I had a firearm that was malfunctioning and the Maker said to take the firearm back to them and the Maker said they would pay all shipping to and from. I had purchased ammo and accesories from them when I picked up my firearm. Gee I think return business is what pays you. Went in this place on a busy Saturday afternoon and the guy behind the counter was EXTREMELY helpful. He showed us a few different guns, recommended us to a shooting range and gave me tips on how to grip a handgun. Some people who work in gun shops have an arrogance about them or just try to get you in and out while making a sale. I talked to an employee at the company in public one day because he was wearing the company shirt. I inquired about their merchandise. That employee was not very interested in talking to me. So after I did finally decide to visit their store all they did not greet me as I walked in. And when I asked an employee for assistance they rudely cut me off mid sentence to demand to see my driver's license. And after all of this nonsense they did not even have what I was looking for. I am offended that they would even card me because they didn't have the respect I had for them as I thought they would have had for me. I don't go around wasting people's time being underage not looking to buy. A good example is Dick's Sporting Goods, or WalMart. If I'm just browsing and I have a question their employees will gladly help you without cutting you off mid sentence to card you. I'm glad to say I don't do business with them anyway. My money is better spent at The Gun Shop on Eastern Ave. Their staff is much more pleasant and knowledgeable. read more
