Call log of me calling the establishment
    Karen G.

I called this establishment at 3:53 pm on 9/13 to inquire if they sell alcoholic beverages like any bowling alley such as for example bowlmor. Just to confirm because their website description clearly shows "bar". The person picked up the phone without greeting me and was very rude. I asked if they sell drinks and the man says "THIS AINT NO CLUB , We sell beer" A rude response to someone who wants to attend your bowling alley. I wrote a review expressing my concern on google over lack of customer service and the owner response was I need to get vaccinated and that I created a fictional story. I have been fully vaccinated since 7/1/21, and it's disappointing that a establishment will say you're a liar before investigating the truth with their employees. Don't visit this place unless you want to be treated poorly and called a liar.

This is a very old school bowling alley that is frequented by locals. The place is very basic and no frills, but was clean when I went. The knocked over pins did get stuck twice for us, but nothing that the reset button could not fix. Depending on the time of the day and week, they charge $7-$9 per game per person, with shoe rental already included. It sounds pricey, but all bowling places in the 5 boroughs are similar or even more expensive nowadays. It is an okay option for those who live in the Bronx and don't want to travel into Manhattan.

This man is incredibly ignorant and rude.

This bowling alley is incredibly disorganized and the person who seemed to be running things was rude and ignorant. This was a class trip with 4 classes including mine for students with disabilities, (on Autism awareness day nonetheless ). After waiting for over 20 minutes to pay for our students and get assigned a lane, we (other teachers and I) were somewhat annoyed. When we explained that we only had a certain amount of time and that we wasted 20 minutes of that waiting for the disorganized management to get things in order with other schools, he shrugged us off and told is there was nothing he could do and it was basically not his problem. You could only imagine our dismay and the pressure of having to make 31 students wait for what they expected to be a fun day. After making a decision whether we should stay or go, 2 classes (mine included) decided to stay while the other 2 classes left. So after finally paying for our students and getting assigned a lane (35 minutes later) we told the manager that we needed a dinosaur (to assist the kids with bowling) because our kids have disabilities and need assistance, his response was "where are the wheelchairs?" Up to this point, I was very patient and decided to continue on with this bowling fiasco. It took alot of effort not to "school" this man on the word disability. Against my better judgment, I deferred to write this review so that others would know not patronize this place. I have been here on my own personal time, but this place will never get my business. A place that does not recognize that people have all sorts of needs is a place that doesn't deserve my money.

Place is filthy. The owner/employee was very rude. They just want your money. They don't care if you have a good time.

To be fair, still prefer the booze, but health first. We got a package where we had two hours of bowling and a bit of karaoke. We got caesar salad, pigs in a blanket, nachos, and chicken tenders. All was good except the nachos. Skip it. After a game of bowling, some of us stayed and did some karaoke. Personally think this is a good place to bowl, sing, and do other things like pingpong and pool, but the location is not ideal. Port authority gets really sketchy after dark. Would not go out of my way seeking this place out.

To Whom May Care and It May Concern:…read more Whitestone Lanes isn't closed and as of 4/11/2026 it is indeed fully operational (but that may be a bit of a stretch.) After searching for a bowling alley without a crazy wait on a Saturday, our search brought us here. $25 per person special to bowl for 2 hours. Cash ONLY. OKKKKK... They do have an ATM on site if you're into that but we went to the bank (10-15 mins away - Chase). The place is VERYYYYY old-school and hasn't been updated in 20-30 years, no joke. No frills - just come in and bowl. No arcades, no other extra games (therefore, no kids running around like crazy...) They have a bar and a little kitchen where you can get some junk / finger food. $3 for a soda. $10 for frozen mozzarella sticks. Parking both and in front and back but looks more like a construction zone (probably because there seemed to be construction next door.) I appreciated it for what it was - a bowling alley where I bowled a couple of terrible games. I did like how a) it wasn't too crowded at all, and b) it didn't have music blaring in the background.

The guy at the counter gave us shoes and assigned us a lane. I requested bumpers and a ramp for my 2 year old grandson. We started playing but the score wasn't registering. The man came and started it for us -- without my asking for help. The equipment worked and we had fun. I would come back again. They sell socks in a vending machine and had a CASH ONLY sign. The man said no more leagues because they may close and can't promise 36 weeks of games.

We picked a location that was the midpoint between my home in Connecticut and my parents' home in New York City. We couldn't have chosen a better place than Banana Cabana! From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by a staff member (I wish I had caught her name) who greeted us with a big smile. She gave an excellent demonstration on how to properly throw an axe, let us practice a few rounds, and provided helpful tips on positioning our arms and legs for the best results. The venue had a great drink menu with plenty of options, including non-alcoholic beer. We also loved the variety of games available Battleship was a favorite! Another fun touch was the TouchTunes music system, where we could purchase credits and play our favorite songs. We definitely took advantage of that! Overall, we had an amazing time and will 100% be returning if we're ever in the area again.

We drove a long distance to we went in to learn to throw some Axes. They seemed a bit short staff but in good spirits I saw a tiki bar and they had scannable QR codes on the tables but they bar and food options where closed as well so missed opportunity there. Axe throwing definitely will make you thirsty we did the 1 Hr option and would've signed up for more if there was a food and beverage option there. Only thing I didn't like is you pay for an hour but the staff started the timer before hand so we didn't get an actual hour they started the timer and then explained the rules to us and showed us how to throw it would make sense to do the tutorial and then start the timer once we are ready or once they are done explaining. All in all it was a fun experience with our group of friends definitely fun to do.

I came here years ago with my kids and we had a…read moregreat time at a reasonable price, so I decided to return in March 2025 for my son's 10th birthday. Unfortunately, it was a very disappointing experience from start to finish. The two men at the front desk seemed more interested in their own conversation than in helping customers. They had AirPods in and didn't acknowledge anyone waiting until people had to raise their voices just to get attention. The food was another letdown. It looked nothing like what was shown on the menu, portions were much smaller than advertised, and the taste didn't make up for it. The drinks were especially frustrating--a "large" that appeared to be 12-14 oz ended up being about 6 oz of mostly water and ice. There's no way that justifies a $14 price tag. I also noticed that many people were bowling without proper bowling shoes, which is both unsafe and damaging to the lanes. It didn't seem like the staff were enforcing basic safety rules at all. Toward the end of our visit, around 7pm, there was another issue that felt very inappropriate for the setting. A female staff member's attire was extremely revealing, which made the environment uncomfortable--especially with so many families and children present. By this I mean- you could see her ENTIRE rear-end and it seemed she had no undergarments on. There were 30-40 teenage boys in there at that time...so you can imagine what happened...the entire scene was disgusting. On top of all that, everything felt overpriced for the quality and atmosphere. The floors were sticky, the tables were dirty, and aside from one young man serving food--who at least made an effort--most of the staff didn't seem interested in being there or helping customers. Overall, this was a frustrating and disappointing experience, especially for what was supposed to be a special birthday outing. I'd recommend spending a little extra and going to a more reputable bowling venue in the city.
