After searching for a bowling alley without a crazy wait on a Saturday, our search brought us here. $25 per person special to bowl for 2 hours. Cash ONLY. OKKKKK... They do have an ATM on site if you're into that but we went to the bank (10-15 mins away - Chase). The place is VERYYYYY old-school and hasn't been updated in 20-30 years, no joke. No frills - just come in and bowl. No arcades, no other extra games (therefore, no kids running around like crazy...) They have a bar and a little kitchen where you can get some junk / finger food. $3 for a soda. $10 for frozen mozzarella sticks. Parking both and in front and back but looks more like a construction zone (probably because there seemed to be construction next door.) I appreciated it for what it was - a bowling alley where I bowled a couple of terrible games. I haven't been bowling in years and decided to visit with a Groupon purchase. It was a Monday around noon and we were the only ones there. The guy at the counter gave us shoes and assigned us a lane. I requested bumpers and a ramp for my 2 year old grandson. We started playing but the score wasn't registering. The man came and started it for us -- without my asking for help. The equipment worked and we had fun. I would come back again. They sell socks in a vending machine and had a CASH ONLY sign. This place is old school. It was a cold winter day and it was quite cold inside the venue despite there being a space heater running. I did 2 hours of unlimited bowling for $25 each including the bowling shoes. I stopped when we reached game 3 but we still had time to spare. It is cash only. The balls could be in better condition but they did the job. I do not go bowling often so this was a nice place to practice. I do appreciate that they have a parking lot on site. Parking was easy and checking in to grab our lane and get bowling shoes was a breeze. Overall the place felt a bit outdated, but everything worked as it should. I always do poorly first game... I really need to start playing more often lol. There were a couple of times when the bowling ball didn't return, even though our time wasn't close to up, which was weird. While the games itself were cool and we had fun, there were a couple of less than desirable things to take note of, though. We had barely switched to our bowling shoes and gotten settled in our lanes before we noticed how explicit the music was. We were not the only party with youths... And the songs were dropping F bombs and all sorts of things... Not a good look! My sister beat me to it, but a music change was requested, and thankfully the staff obliged. They should be knowledgeable of who their current patrons are. We also noticed that when we returned our shoes and the staff went to spray the shoes, they didn't spray inside. They just did on top and on the sides... It's the inside that really needs disinfecting! Some folks forget socks (my niece included), so that's something to be mindful of for sure. read more

A Throwback to the 80's for me as time seemingly has stood still. I can clearly remember the same decor of the walls and the linoleum floors. It's like I traveled back in a time machine. The only thing new here unfortunately is the Covid 19 pandemic and the byproduct from that is the addition of partitions to enforce social distancing during game play. This is a no frills bowling alley that is as basic as basic can be. Do not expect anything exciting here unless you yourself bowl a perfect game. There is no multi colored light shows or loud pumping music, the bowling machines though functional are pretty beat up as are the the quality of the lanes, pins and balls. Due to the Covid pandemic temperature checks, contact tracing, face masks and signing a waiver will get you in. What I don't particularly like is they will make a copy of your ID and keep it with the waiver you signed. I was not keen on the idea of them making a copy of my driver's license but since I drove all the way here already I went with it. If you come with others without ID they will be allowed to bowl as long as you sign for them. If you refuse to sign the waiver you will not be permitted to play. Decent sized parking lot, 10+ spaces. More than half of them were empty when we went on a Saturday at 6 PM. Priced at 2 games for $25 per person, including shoes. Inside is huge with two sides for bowling, and an open kitchen/cafe/arcade games in-between. They do a quick spray to deodorize the shoes when they give them to you. I assume they don't have half sizes since they just gave me a smaller size. Shoes are velcro (no laces) and are comfortable. Lanes are spaced out enough so random people are not right next to you. 3 things about this place: 1. Everything is cash only which I didn't really like. You had to get cash in order to bowl and in order to do anything at this place. No cards whatsoever and that was a hassle and not even worth this place. 2. $25/person for 2 games of bowling. It is pricey just to bowl 2 games and I don't think it was worth the money after being to other bowling lanes from previous places. 3. The place was warm, no A/C, saw a little crack on the floors so in my opinion, it has been a while since they changed some of their floorings. It's all about the company you keep! Haven't been bowling in more then a month of Sundays, probably closer to years worth of Sundays. So naturally when bowling was suggested as part of the hang out with my Bros, I wouldn't know where to begin and certainly would not have picked Whitestone Lanes. However, I had a fabulous time. Conveniently located right off the highway. The actual alley and both accompanying parking lots can use some updating but it's large, the employees were cool and the premises were clean. Since we only came to bowl, I guess the aesthetics are not that important. Three people playing two games @ 11pm on a Saturday night was $64.50 ($13.50/shoe rental $51/2 games for 3ppl). I couldn't tell you if that is good, bad or spot on but its what we paid. Everything went well and we all had a great time. I appreciated the fact that they had adult balls that were lighter and didn't have children sized finger wholes and they had some new shoes in rotation. We came here to bowl. Nothing really special about it, but they had lanes. They're a bit pricey for like $10 a game cash. If you have your own shoes, bring them so you don't have to rent their shoes. This bowling alley is old school Queens and I love it. It's the only bowling alley that I know that's open 24/7. The prices are cheap & you get a bang for your buck. Shoe rentals are $4.50 and on the weekend they have an unlimited bowling special from 8am-noon. My friends and I decided to meet up for a few friendly games on a Sunday morning and did not have to wait for a lane once we arrived. We arrived during the unlimited bowling time so it was pretty packed but I believe there were lots of bowling league teams practicing (at this time). One of the league members to our left I guess got pissed off at one of my friends because my friend didn't let the league member bowl first (2 lanes down mind you) and came over and gave us a speech about it, I particularly enjoyed the league member stating how he's a bowler so he knows what he's talking about. My friends and I were there to have fun not be involved in bowling politics so we shrugged it off and kept having fun. So just a heads up that you may be surrounded by serious bowlers who aren't so polite during the unlimited bowling period. I suggest come prepared to have fun and be in an old school bowling environment. Also, the pit turnaround time was a bit slow but when your having fun it's not that bad. Price and service: Overpriced arcade, a dollar a play when the movie theater that's 5 mins away has way bigger and better machines for same price., should be 50 cents a play for the claw machine..prices are.around average cost of rental shoes and bowling. Food and vending machine... forget about it ,,eat before coming please unless you are fine throwing money away. The shooting game doesnt even work, I tried reloading my gun and it takes me like 4 pulls to get it off almost every time resulting in me dying after playing about 5 or 6 minutes. The claw machine on the right doesn't work too, wasted two dollars as the claw would not move. The bowling balls legit are the same ones from 11 years ago, scratched up and old. Had a great experien6 in this place with friends, place was a bit crowded but after getting a number to wait we got called in less than 10 minutes. They only accept cash no credit cards. Place has a bar a bit outdated. The frinks were pricey $12 for a small plastic cup margarita. The bar area has couches and a big flat screen tv for sports that was pretty cool. The staff at this establishment were very unprofessional and lazy. They instructed our school of students with disabilities to get their own bowling balls from a separate area from the actual bowling lanes. Next, when the students were done bowling in which they had a great time doing so. The gentlemen who worked there then made a scene stating the students had to carry the bowling balls from the lanes back to the separate area where they were stored 25-30 feet away. So I came on a school trip with special needs students and staff was rude and disrespectful they called us rude because the kids were eating the food provided by the school. They made sure they pointed out that there was signs that stated "No outside food" but being that this was a different population we didn't think it would have been such a huge issue. It really pains me to write this review cause this is where I practically learned to bowl. But after a recent visit to WhiteStone, I had to shake my head. So I'm guessin' the establishment has had some issues with bowler/customer safety in the past. I'm thinking it must have been a real crazy fight or brawl 'cause you'll have to go through security to enter on the weekends. Security consist of one dude funneling bowlers through the front entrance. Dudes expect to get patted down; Ladies prepare to have your bags checked. WhiteStone also wants to make sure there's absolutely no loitering or people watching other people bowl. So yeah, at the same security checkpoint you enter at, you'll have to purchase your shoe rental and one game or else entry is denied. Hand security dude your $12 and he'll give you a voucher to be exchanged at the booth for your bowling shoes and your lane assignment. You can always add more games if you like. They really gota invest some money back into the place. The house balls are all damaged (smile); I promise you won't be able to find a bowling ball in the place without a hundred dings or a huge scar on it's surface. Don't be surprised if you see at least one or two destroyed bowling pins missing a chunk of wood being set up in your lane. Don't expect the house lights to get low or having glowing lanes. This is not the place. They'll throw on a top 40 urban mix which is kina cool. Lane 10 was especially impressive on my visit, it shut down twice on us during our first game and the computer didn't register the right score on three different occasions; the scorer's table damn near fell apart from the wear & tear and the ten pounds of pressure you have to apply to each button to enter your name. No Bueno! I'm pretty sure you get the picture by now. The bar and and the food is blah; Deep fried Chicken fingers and French fries. The bar had descent prices on beer and other mixed drinks. After my performance last weekend, I was ready to show off my strong pimp hand and crush my competition in open bowling. Although I have bowled at Whitestone Lanes for over seven years, it was a while since I've returned (12 months can be a lifetime, to the man who talks through the three holes of his ball). Friday night after dinner, my cousins and I came to hold our annual family bowling competition (or lack thereof) and have a good time (beers sponsored by yours truly). Since parking in the front is quickly occupied, we always head towards the back. Cash is king. There's an ATM machine in the alley so there's no excuse for whining for a fee to use the machine. It was $77 for five merry keglers at two games each and three out of the five needed shoes. "The Strike Zone" aka the bar, is small, but offers inexpensive bottle beers. I would drop $22 for 5 Coors Lites and 1 Heineken. Sh-t we paid for at least five rounds. At least I voraciously ate all of the chips (certainly my money's worth) I could while waiting for the bartender to serve them. It's a shame there is nothing on tap. The snack bar, although an eyesore, is a separate entity and was helpful in my time of need. We ordered big fries for $4.50 and enjoyed them. They were better (thin cut and fresh out the deep fryer) than the Mickey D's next door. Believe it! The lane conditions were not forgiving. DRY! *hack* CHALK! *cough* As a right hander, I could start at board 35, throw it out wide, and it would still skid, flip and hit the 7 pin on the backend. Although one of my cousins previously hurt himself (imagine a non-runner/baskeball player claiming plantar fasciitis) and ended up squandering money playing video games most of the night, we bowled and collectively had a good time. A poor carpenter blames his tools. I know, I did not perform well with a 111 and 171. Yet, I am still victorious at 12:30 AM! I came here over the weekend for an impromptu birthday gathering and opportunity to have fun times with some of my Yelper friends. Whitestone is actually exactly what I was looking for -- an affordable, suburban-type, low frills bowling alley, where you can kick it with peeps, family or whoever without feeling like it's a big night on the town or that you're going to break the bank (I'm talking to you, Bowlmor and Lucky Strike). We found a great Groupon which included one game, shoe rental and a month VIP card ($5 games for the next month) for two for $12. Given the low price, most of my party decided to participate. This location also has a family friendly birthday party room (we had some fun in there) and two fully stocked bars. The balls are a motley crew; some are very worn and others look like they've only been hitting the lanes this year. Whitestone plays top 40 music. So We Walked To The The Counter To Get Our Lane. Once Given The Lane We Were Refunded Back $10. Walking To Our Lane There was A Good 7 Ppl Sitting There. When Then Walked Back & Informed Them That Ppl Were Sitting There When We We're Told They Were Done. After Informing The Ppl That We We're Bowling There They Said Okay But Never Moved. Okay So Again At Our Original Lanes Were Given a Pen And Paper To Write Shoes Sizes Our Names & The Amount Of Games We Will Be Playing. Due To COVID They Put It In & You May Use The Computer To Take Selfie For The Selfie Board & Start The Next Game. Other Than That You Pretty Much Just Bowl. There Was No Type Of SOCIAL DISTANCING What So Ever. Ever Lane Was Used. Where As Bowlerland & Gun Post Lanes Every Other Lane Is Used. No Two Different Parties Are Placed As Joint Lanes. While We We're Putting On Our Shoes We Looked Around & Realized The Area Was Not Cleaned Sanitized Or Anything After The Ppl Before Us Left. There Was Beer Bottles Everywhere. The Lanes Were Very Old. Literally Had Cracks In Them As Well As Very Dry. It Was 11:15 When We Got In The Bar Was Already Closed When We Tried To Enter. Yet They Stayed Open To 1 Am.
