I should have written this a while ago, but these guys are great! Without going into too much detail they went out of their way on numerous occasions (while not making any money) to help me with a warranty type issue. Three other online transfers went perfectly. Always a pleasure to deal with, the gunsmith was very helpful! I would love to give guns and ammo the benefit if the doubt, but that ship has sailed. In short, I used Guns n Ammo as my FFL/Transfer Dealer for 3 guns I have ordered online. I have gotten two of them but the third one, my glock 19 Gen 3, has yet to be obtained or found. I have thouroughly investigated both Palmetto and Guns n Ammo, and Palmetto is the only side giving me factual information, screen shots, tracking, etc. Guns n Ammo are yet to prove anything solid to me except blaming the other side. There is a missing firearm somewhere according to them even though Frank, the owner, clearly signed for it as it shows on the tracking form. I call the store and they never answer, or they do answer but do not say anything and hang up. Is this right? No. I just contacted the local ATF office now, and hopefully they will get my glock, THAT I PAID FOR, back into my hands. read more

Needed a local shop to facilitate two transfers of two inexpensive AR lowers that were gifted to me from a friend in Vegas. Instructions were on sheet that these were gifts, thus no charge, thus no taxes. My name and phone number as who was to pick them up and be transferred to was on the sheet. Days after delivery, I was never called that it had arrived. This is common courtesy for a shop to do this and only takes 20 seconds. I had to call them to ask them if they were there. They confirmed they were and had already opened the boxes prior, yet never gave me a courtesy call to let me know all was good. I confirmed all was good before spending my time to come down to the shop and they assured me they were ready to pick up. Upon getting there, I'm given a different story, that no receipt is attached so I can't take possession as they don't know what to do with tax. As mentioned prior, they were gifted to me, thus no tax on either end, only transfer fee necessary. Was a NV to NV in-state delivery to make it even easier. I go home and call the FFL who sent them, and he explains they are idiots. He then sorts it out. Again, days go by and I get no call from Guns and Ammo/Arrow apologizing or out of courtesy letting me know it's ok to pick them up finally. I call them again and they explain it was a mix-up and they are ready to pick up. I go down to pick them up, and they want to charge me $90, $45 + $45 for each lower. Their website CLEARLY states on their main page tghat transfers are $45, and the 2nd gun and so-on is only $25. (Picture included in this review too). This was the sole reason I chose them to be the FFL to send the stuff to as it averages out to be $35 per transfer which isn't too bad. They refused to honor what their own website has stated for weeks if not months, and STILL stated that very minute. They tried to tell me it was changed months ago. I showed them it wasn't changed right then on my phone. Their response, "Well, it shouldn't say that". It's YOUR website guys!!! They are either very lazy or incompetent, OR, they know it's a good foot in the door technique to get more money, because it seems like an appealing price to send multiple guns to their shop, but with them knowing that once they have your guns, you aren't getting them out of there until you pay your fees to them. What a dishonorable and un-American way to do business. False advertising, misleading, and pretty much blatant lying, and when I actually caught them on it and pointed it out, they refused to honor it. An honest business would say, "Sorry, our new policy is that we charge $45 per transfer no matter how many you have, and clearly we need to update our site, but because it's not updated, and you specifically chose our shop based on our own written word and advertising, we will honor it for you this time and not charge you the extra $20." That would have been ok with me and they would have regained trust as an honorable business. Well, guess what, for the $20 they nickeled and dimed me for, here is what they get instead: *Loss of all my future business (I do a dozen transfers a year), buy ammo, gear, etc, and send dozens of people I know who shoot and train to a shop that I trust to be worthy and honest and dependable. *A well deserved, negative Yelp review. Statistics show that one well-written and justifiable negative Yelp review causes a business on average to lose $14,000 of future potential sales from returning and new customers ANNUALLY. Makes total sense with how many people read and use Yelp to judge the quality, trust, service, and dependability of a business. *I'll be telling everyone I know locally about my experience and to steer clear of them, explaining my experience in detail. *I have submitted a credit card dispute for the extra $20. Attached to the dispute was a current dated screenshot showing that their website clearly states they charge $45 for one gun, and $25 for all guns thereafter. With the evidence submitted, credit card will settle in my favor, the gun shop will not get that $20, and most likely will incur a $15 to $50 charge-back fee as well, depending on their credit card processor terms. It's not about the money, it's about the poor customer service, concept, and refusal to offer a solution. That's just poor business all around. A good business thinks dollars, not dimes, and far exceeds customer expectations with quality customer service, good communication, sticking to their word with integrity, and going above and beyond to create raving review customers who recommend them to others and come back time and time again to patronize the business. THAT is how you build and run a successful business. Or you can fiddle around with lazy incompetence, poor customer service, lack of word, integrity, and honor, poor communication, and all because they wanted to nickel and dime a single customer for an extra $20. Unethical... These guys don't keep track of the monies exchanged; therefore, when they loose your reservation for a class, They Blame You !!! They were supposed to call me when they had an opening in their CCW class and somehow threw away their past signup sheets where my name was. So I am SOL and loose $100. They were Rude and Aggressive. Literally Got up in my face ! Tried to intimidate me and refused to take responsibility that they could possibly make a mistake. I bet they wouldn't have done that to a man. They tried to make it out to be my fault because i had to postpone for several months...Their comment was "Well that isn't normal, people who pay want to take the class right away..." I ask you what does that have to do with it? How do they know why I postponed? and What difference does that make anyway? I have no doubt if they respond at all they will blame me for their lack of record keeping. Note; I paid Cash and am looking for my receipt ... She helped me select the ammo that best suited my needs. I was also looking at handguns in a glass case that was listed as California legal. I asked the gentleman behind the counter why they were legal in CA and he explained in detail why. The employees there were friendly, helpful and knowledgeable! Buyer beware if you shop here. I went in to purchase a handgun which I bought for $869 which is the generally advertised retail price for this gun.  While there, I mentioned I was looking for a 12 gauge shotgun as well.  The salesperson showed me a Maverick shotgun which I also bought for $600.  I trusted the salesperson and assumed that the price was reasonable.   While waiting for the background check, I looked up this gun and saw the gun is available from multiple locations for $240 to $280.  When picking up the gun I asked to cancel the shotgun sale and was refused.  To state the obvious, this store has no concern for customers and does not value fair business practices. read more

Came in on Valentine's Day to grab a few boxes of ammo. Everyone working here was super friendly! I told the gentleman what I needed and he gladly went and found all my requests off their huge wall of inventory. I didn't know exactly what I was looking for/the difference between types of bullets i just let him know what gun I had and what I needed, he advised me on my options without making me feel silly or uneducated. For sure woman friendly if you're new to fire arm safety (ladies you know what I mean!). No worries here... He gave me a great deal and I was in and out quickly!!! I had a fantastic experience at Guns N Arrows. The 1st day I walked in unsure of an exact purchase, but looking for a new concealed carry pistol. The employees were attentive and informative without pushing a purchase...lightyears ahead of say a place like sportsman's in Carson. I even kept them a few minutes late by asking questions and it didnt bother them one bit. They seemed more concerned with making sure i would be happy with my purcharse. They had lots of options on display. The store was clean and tidy, well lit and organized. After narrowing down my options i went home to do some more research. Walked in the next day and selected the best option based on my criteria and preferences. They are a little more expensive than a big box sporting goods store, but not much. Their customer service makes the price difference worth it in my opinion. Plus, it's great to support local businesses when possible. I am very happy with my purchase and my experience. My first Glock was purchased here years ago before Yelp was a thing. The guy who sold it to me has since moved on. This review is based on a recent purchase, by default because other stores in the area were closed and I had driven 1.5hrs to buy a particular gun. On this particular day, Guns and Arrows was the only store open and had the gun I was looking for for my roommate since we had driven all that way anyway. She ended up liking a different gun that looked very dirty as used to me. A Lugar. He let her shoot it there and when questioned, he said the gun was new. we bought it against my better judgement. Her first time taking it out it jammed right away. We got about 5 shots out of it and about 4 tries trying to unjam it. Took it to a gunsmith who confirmed that that gun was definitely well used. He cleaned it up and it works fine now. Not impressed with being sold a dirty gun and telling me it's brand new. Dirty business. read more

One of the worst gun stores in Nevada, no, it IS the worst gun store in Nevada. I was recently in the store with a woman friend and watched how poorly she was treated. Without asking, the staff assumed she knew little to nothing about guns, calibers, ballistics, and/or recoil, which is not the case. We simply were looking for a few specific handguns and calibers. The best single word to describe the staff's attitude is condescending toward the woman I was with and assumed I was an experienced shooter! Because of my being a male? NOT a valid reason. Extremely poor attitude and customer service. I cannot recommend this store and will aggressively steer potential customers away. read more

Staff is knowledgeable and usually friendly. They'll find every gun in the place that applies to your needs and let you handle them. They are generally very helpful. That being said, they can be a bit gruff at times and I think it's due to being the first gun shop from the California border. On weekends they are swamped with Californians trying to: A) buy guns that are illegal in CA ("assault weapons AKA scary black rifles", handguns not on the idiotic CA approved list) Please. If you're from a firearm fearing state, don't try this. These guys know the law and aren't going to risk their FFL for you. B) bypass California's waiting period (Don't waste your time. CA DL holders have to follow CA firearms laws) C) or just coming in to play with the "assault rifles" while muzzle sweeping everyone in the store. I imagine it can get a bit tiresome. They have a great inventory although their prices are a bit steep. With a few phone calls, you can usually find a much better price locally. There is a 5 star review posted here that I feel I must address. It directly attacks and denigrates a fine local gun shop while praising Guns N Arrows as the be-all end-all king of local gun shops. Claims of "4-500 guns all the time" is incredibly exaggerated and in all the times I've visited I've seen exactly 2 women. It reads like a very poorly written paid endorsement, so take that review with a grain of salt. It really is way over the top and borders on satire. read more

I recently moved to town and now, being able to own firearms with no restrictions, was happy to find Guns and Arrows right down the road! Mark, Pat, Karl, Dillon, and all the guys at the store are great guys, and have knowledge. They are friendly guys who like guns as much as those of us who are purchasing them. Never had a bad purchase experience there, and service after the sale is just as great as the guys are! If you don't know anything about weapons like I did, they will educate you along the way to help you decide what weapon is best for you; not for them to sell. I was there to buy my first AR, he showed me about 6 or 7 different rifles and when I finally settled on which one I wanted he threw in a couple free upgrades 3 boxes of ammo showed me how to break down and clean the gun. I have bought some handguns there in the past from the owner. Since that time, I have been ignored several times in the shop. Today after not visiting for a couple of years I had a conversation with them about consignment guns. They told all the reasons my old Winchesters were not worth anything and hard to sell. The last straw was when a customer pointed his AR at my chest and I asked him to :"point somewhere else." I mentioned this to the shop keeper after the customer had left. His unbelievable response was "you have to expect to have guns pointed at you in a gun store." Not in my Universe. I will never set foot in that place again. read more
