I'm so glad my friend and I decided to venture a little bit more north to find a beach bed to rent for the day instead of staying in the main area. Guru is tucked in a corner right in front of the huge Mia Resort. The attendants were super friendly - I forgot to ask for his name but the gentleman from Argentina really made our short stay memorable. We had a couple of cocktails each, the burger, and the shrimp tacos. Everything was executed well. When they closed down the beach beds (and it started raining super hard), we were invited to stay in the indoor restaurant area. One of the ladies even helped us call a cab to the port. Guru was definitely one of the highlights of our Isla Mujeres trip, and we will definitely be back!
Totally worth it the cost of the cover ($500 mxn per person) but the good thing is, that cover goes towards your consumption as well. Right on the beach and by where the fish are to do snorkel. The service was amazing and very friendly. They accommodated us with a baby, had to be at the beach because underage can not be at the pool area, but as soon as it rained they help us to move inside in the restaurant area. Really helpful, food was delicious and plenty. Drinks were good. Worth it. Highly recommended
Amazing place to hang out on Isla Mujares, especially if you are there for the day and want to be able to chill by the water, have a cocktail and some good food. This is on the north end of the island, Playa Norte with the shallow water you can stroll around in. The Guru Beach Club gives you a place to settle in for a nice long day on the island and alternate between beach, pool, shaded day bed and the bar. Good music, vibe and drinks, the staff is excellent and we will go back when we are in the area. Before this we rented a golf cart and toured around the island so it was nice to catch our breath at Gurus! Great day!
We are just returning from Isla and we visited most of the beach clubs and Guru was by fav the best. Drinks are great and vibe is even better. Also, this beach club is located near Playa Norte, so when there is minimal seaweed, the beach is beautiful. The amount of seaweed changes daily and unfortunately it doesn't have the most pleasant smell, but that didn't stop us.
Attentive staff always checking to make sure everything was good. Had the best steak tacos. No charge for chair or umbrella as long as you consume 500 pesos in food/drinks. Did not take pictures of the food but we had shrimp cocktail, steak tacos, bucket of beer, and 3 micheladas and spent 1,280 pesos for 2 people
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this beautiful space and perfect location. It has a Tulum style vibe with amazing music, pool and incredible food on the most surreal beach on the entire island. We came here everyday on our trip because it was that perfect! It's amazing to stay here all day, have great service, great food and go dip in the ocean and back at the pool. We ate here several times, but the most stand out food was the large serving of guacamole, delicious ceviche, fresh veggie sticks, and fresh grilled lobster with asparagus. The cocktails come in beautifully garnished goblets. I'm a sucker for pretty things and this place nails it on all levels. I can't wait to come back!
We snorkeled in the bay the came here for a snack and some drinks so we could rinse off with their showers. We ended up staying all day! Super nice to sit in the shade by the ocean, have lovely and good food and drinks, music, bathrooms. W had the shrimp cocktail which was actually like cold shrimp soup with lots of lime. It was super good as was the guacamole. Then we had the 3 beef skewers in teriyaki, frozen lemon pie and passion fruit mousse all of which were fabulous. The drinks were amazing, both alcoholic and not. I forgot to take pictures of them. My favorite was the strawberry, cucumber, tequila and white wine drink. Such a nice relaxing day!

Guru is a regular of mine when visiting Isla. It is the perfect place to relax on the beach and has excellent service and facilities. The prices are fair and they provide everything you need to have a great beach (or pool) day. Their signature drink is a favorite of mine. I also enjoy their tuna tartare and guacamole, perfectly seasoned. Give them a try for low key, laid back relaxation. read more

The GURU beach club is in a great location and the overall service and food are good. However, guests should be aware that the club includes a SUGGESTED TIP on the RENTAL of beach beds. While tipping for service and food makes sense, it's unclear why a tip would be added to a simple bed rental, since no service is actually provided for that charge. For this reason, guests should double-check their receipts before paying to make sure they are only tipping for the services they actually received. ---- El club de playa GURU está en una excelente ubicación y el servicio y la comida son buenos. Sin embargo, los huéspedes deben saber que el club incluye una propina sugerida en el alquiler de las camas de playa. Aunque tiene sentido dejar propina por el servicio y la comida, no queda claro por qué se agrega una propina al simple alquiler de una cama, ya que no se brinda ningún servicio adicional por ese cargo. Por eso, se recomienda que los huéspedes revisen bien su recibo antes de pagar para asegurarse de que solo están dejando propina por los servicios realmente recibidos. ---- Le beach club GURU est très bien situé et le service ainsi que la nourriture sont bons. We some food and service. The fish tacos were divine. The servers are very attentive. I took off a star because the Piña Colada needed more pineapple. But, other than that the drinks were good. This place isn't big so it not too crowded like other areas in North Beach. They had a live salsa band on Friday. read more

Really wonderful adult only bar on Isla Mujeres. Very laid back, very attentive staff. Food was amazing, cocktails were not watered down. Very chill vibe, secluded on the end of the island. Definitely recommend. read more

Trendy place to grab drinks, lounge by pool or private beach, and perhaps smoke a hookah. A little upscale for the Island Life but worth checking out. Also the food is pretty good as well! read more

The drinks and service were fabulous! The views were beautiful as well... We could walk right out onto the beach and get on to the powder sand & clear blue waters to snorkel! read more

One of the best spots in Isla Mujeres. Love the vibe, the staff was very friendly. They are open during Covid and also go by all the CDC guidelines. Awesome place if you want some hookah and good food. Everything we ordered was amazing. Thank you Juan for welcoming us here with open arms. Can't wait to visit them again! read more

This beach club was pretty cute and lax, there were day beds under a palapa, by the pool without shade and on the beach with beach umbrellas that were first come first serve. There's also a small pool that was packed with 2-3 groups of people but the beach was literally steps away and the water is see-through blue so you have options. There is a $25 (USD) min per person which was not bad at all for a beach club. The beach beds are barebones: includes two pillows but no towels to cover the bed and I noticed it was not sprayed down/cleaned between guests so not the most COVID friendly but hey, I'm travelling during a pandemic so who am I to judge. I asked for a beach towel and was told that they could provide one but never received one. Either the server forgot or they don't provide any (the rest of the guests sat on their own towels). The drinks here were pretty good but unfortunately took a while to come. I ordered a second round (that order never came), put in the order again 45 mins later when my friend arrived, his order came 10 mins after he ordered but mine still didn't come out. I ordered it a 3rd time, didn't come for 20 mins so I ordered it again and it came out twice, one of which I sent back and disputed when the check came. We tried to order a 3rd round but ended up waiting who knows how long so we just lost faith and asked for the check. Side note, there was a couple that arrived sometime during our half day spent at the beach club that didn't get served while they were there, one of the guests just went for a swim on the beach and her boyfriend napped the entire time on the day bed, undisturbed. The service was pretty disorganized and it even took 15 mins or so to get our check revised, not the biggest deal since we were on vacation and I wasn't in a rush but at that point, I was not happy with the service. The truffle fries were solid though. I do recommend the beach club for the vibes, food seemed decent and drinks seemed good, just don't expect a lot for the service and make sure you bring your own towel. Also, there is wifi and outlets available if you need to do work. read more

Amazing place for dinner and during the day! Beautiful beach and clean pool. The ceviche was so fresh and delicious and all of the drinks were awesome. We went for dinner as well and the pad Thai, potstickers and tikka massala were all so good. Highly recommend' read more

This place was absolutely amazing. The views were cute, the drinks were fantastic and the food was delicious! The ceviche was amazing. The staff was very friendly and attentive. There's a pool you can hang out in and lounge beds. Highly recommend if you're wanting a modern spot in Isla. read more
