Drive thru service was horrible tonight. I had to repeat my order multiple times, the girl taking my order sounded distracted. She was laughing as I placed my order. When I got to the window, she did not greet me, just took my money, gave me my change and closed the window on me without any acknowledgment at all that I was there. I was enjoying my salad very comfortably when I almost threw it up. A boy of dark complexion, perhaps of indigenous characteristic came in to this restaurant asking for monetary help. He arrived at the first table, which is where I was seated, setting a cardboard down on the table. I only managed to read ... I am a student ... I've ALWAYS had a good experience with food here. EXCEPT the last 2 drive-thru visits. My husband picked up food from here, about a week ago...he had ordered burger special which includes fries and chicken tenders (strips.) They used to give you three decently sized chicken "Tenders", but the last two times we ordered this special, we were given 3 VERY SMALL pieces of breaded chicken. Two of them, were SMALLER than a McDonalds chicken nugget, for example. (VERY DISAPPOINTING.)The burgers were SLOPPY. Saturated in grease and condensation, to the point that we couldn't even eat them. I could have "rung-oit" my hamburger bun, ONLY IF it would have stayed together,..(which I HIGHLY DOUBT.) When we ordered these burgers, in the past (mind you, we have ordered this SAME SPECIAL about once a week, (since it's not far, from our home.)...the burgers were not soggy and wet. And they had lots of fresh raw onions, tomato, lettuce and pickles. Now, they BARELY put ANY onion on burger....like two of the tiniest slices of onion they could possibly find, about an inch or so long. And so narrow and iridescent. I really don't know why they even bothered. And the french fries that (are normally crunchy and very good) were absolutely saturated in cooking oil. I put them on a paper plate, and the oil SOAKED, RIGHT THROUGH the plate. I had to place a SECOND paper plate, under them. THIS HAPPENED 2 TIMES IN THE LAST 2 WEEKS. My original review was very complimentary. And at that time....we ate their food regularly. I stand by that review. But now, (present day) unfortunately I stand by THIS CURRENT REVIEW. We were regular customers. And I understand that since the pandemic, that things are different. Restaurants (as many businesses) are short staffed, etc. So that's why I ordered TWICE...in the last two weeks. I considered that fact, and gave GUS, Jr another try. But the second time...I just threw the food in the trash. I couldn't even attempt to eat it. All that grease and oil, turned my stomach, and I feared I would get sick if I ate ANY of it. So sad. Even though they may be short staffed, they could AT LEAST take pride in the food they prepare for their customers. WITHOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS, they WOULDNT have a restaurant. I WONT BE going back.
