Kevin - or whatever his name is - was dismissive and brusque, which I hoped was the hallmark of a guy so good at what he does that courtesy had become an afterthought. Well, I was wrong. Although he quoted me "a week or two," it ended up taking the better part of a month. Every time I called, I got some runaround about how "we don't bother Kevin in the booth" like he was some kind of savant. Apparently he couldn't match the paint without the intervention of their "paint rep," which begs the question how they get anything painted at all. When I did finally get the call, I was irritated to find that he had also painted the piece of trim I'd supplied as a reference, which sort of defeats the purpose, doesn't it? On top of that, there are runs, sags, and s**t in the paint...like, did you spray this on the ground outside with one hand over your eyes? I guess I shouldn't be surprised at the results when I recall seeing a gallon jug of cheap vodka on the floor behind the counter when I picked up the parts. There's a bit from Calvin and Hobbes where he's supposed to be shoveling snow or something, and is deliberately making a hash of it. He explains to Hobbes that "I find if you do a job poorly enough the first time, you often don't get asked to do it again." So, I didn't ask again. I am sorry to have trusted that jerk with parts of a car that's very special to me, and I intend to find a friendlier, more competent shop to fix his lousy work.

They call me after running a diagnostic and said that my upper intake gasket needs to be replaced and that it will cost me an extra $550 on top of the estimated $400 for the speaker and flasher. I asked why it needs to be replaced. All they came up with, is that my car has 134,000 miles on it, and things eventually wear out. I was pretty skeptikal about that, cause they were being a bit pushy to get it done. I needed a better explanation. So, I called Tuffy auto (that's my next review) and they extimated the cost of the repairs...MUCH MUCH lower. So, I called back and didn't have them do any work on my car. Long story short, after having Tuffy look at the upper and lower gasket, they said it wasn't leaking. There's nothing wrong with it, why replace it? They also mentnioned the crooks at the dealership work on comission, so they need to 'create work' in order for the customer to spend money there. That Tuffy trip saved me over $700! Never going to Frsard again!

I have met some despicable characters in my life and some have worked for equally despicable…read morebusinesses but let me tell you this little story and I'll try to be brief. Once you believe someone was trying to cheat you especially if you feel it is their M.O. it is very difficult to ever trust them again. I purchased a 2016 Mercedes smart car from a dealer north of Toronto several months before this incident. I was pretty happy with the car. It was not new so I was expecting some minor issues . Anyway one day as I arrived home from work I went to secure my vehicle but I could not turn off the key. It would roll far enough so that the engine shut off but the electronic were still live. I couldn't lock the car and the dashboard was still lit up . I didn't know what to do at this point. I covered the dash with a towel and blocked the car with my wife's car because the car would start and could easily be stolen. I was working the next day so we made an appointment at the local Mercedes dealer to have the car diagnosed and this is what happened. My wife sat at the dealer ship for the better part of 3 hours until someone came out to tell her that the "Transmission control module was defective and would have to be replaced. The part alone would cost some $1300.00 and were we sure that we wanted them to order the part for us" BTW Taxes and labor would be extra. At this point my wife called me and we agreed the car needed to be fixed and scheduled a repair appointment. My wife then brought the car home. BTW That "diagnosis" cost me $233.00. When I arrived home that evening I thought this is not right. I removed the plastic cover and exposed the key tumbler. Low an behold there was a solenoid attached to the tumbler with two small screws. I proceeded to remove the solenoid and the key came out. Upon examination the solenoid appeared to have overheated a rubber bumper (fortunately it did not start a fire) which had penetrated the stroke area of the solenoid armature not allowing it to return all the way. I removed the bumper as it served no purpose, lubricated the armature, plugged it back in without installing it, turned the key to the on position, with foot on the brake tried to move the gear shift control module from park to drive. I worked and so did the solenoid hanging by the wire. I then reinstalled the solenoid buttoned up the cover and it's been fine ever since. This all took about 45 minutes and cost nothing. Of course I was befuddled that a dealer charging a labor rate $144.95/hr could be this incompetent but it continues. When a called to speak with the service adviser and ask for my money back since their diagnosis couldn't possible me more wrong they as much as called me a liar and told me I would have to return the car and show them what I had done. The name of this dealership that perpetrated this blunder and were about to perpetrate more atrocities by repairing a perfectly good transmission is Overseas Motors Mercedes Benz 9225 Tecumseh Rd. East Windsor Ontario I'm very sorry folks but I cannot in all good conscience recommend this place of business on the contrary "buyer beware"

Awful place. Spent quite a bit of money through my insurance company through them only to find out…read morethat nothing was warranted. They used aftermarket bearings and hubs on my tire and within one year I had to get it replaced. Even aftermarket bearings and hubs should last more than 8000 miles. They were insanely rude, when I picked up my car the engine light was on and it had never been on before. They explained to me that it was my problem, and that I would have to take it to a dealership, get it checked out, and then see if my insurance company would pay for it. Why they couldn't scan my car for me and tell me why the engine light was on I don't know. Fortunately, I was able to find someone to scan my engine light, and the $150 part and have it put on. They already were paid enough by my insurance company and myself so I don't understand why they couldn't have given me my car back in decent condition. They didn't even bolt the quarter panel on which is absurd. my hood has been crooked ever since I got it back from them but they claim that it wasn't them even though I had no accidents and no issues with it until I picked up the car from them. They are horribly rude, they don't warranty anything, they use subpar materials, and I've owned 17 cars and I've never had a bearing/hub replaced that hasn't lasted the entire lifetime of my car let alone 8000 miles. I've never in 32 years of owning and driving cars have been treated like such crap from a repair shop or collision shop or whatever they "claim" to be.

I made the horrible mistake of entrusting this body shop with a luxury vehicle - big mistake. Sure you should expect to get your car back looking newly restored but you'd also expect to get your car back in working order right? . . . you don't expect a seized passenger door that can't be opened or extra body chips in places where the car wasn't damaged. Results like this make one wonder how people stay in business. Results I received cost me more than the original insurance repair claim. Did I give Dotten the opportunity to make things right? Absolutely - and as a matter of fact that's what the business owner promised "leave it with me and I promise to fix it and make things right". But after a week of leaving the vehicle with them, they realized what it would actually take or cost to correct the botched job. The owner's best excuse was the door broke because it was old . . . really!? coincidentally exactly while just at your place for body shop repairs after all these years . . . amazing! This is the kind of professionalism and integrity that you can expect at Dotten collision. Dotten couldn't fix, would not correct or pay to remedy the problem so the promises and warrantees you'll get are worthless. Avoid the grief and legal action. There are so many more reliable and professional choices like Service King who undid Dotten's damage. That's my experience with Dotten's wretched service experience.

My insurance sent me here after I had been rear ended, all seemed good at first, they got my car in…read morequick. I had asked them to do an alignment on it because it wasn't steering properly and it's a brand new car with under 5k miles so I obviously wanted it straightened out. They said they would look at it and get it fixed up. I dropped it off on a Monday morning and on Friday they were calling me telling me the car was still missing a piece but they wanted me to pick it up anyway (yeah I'm not picking up an incomplete car just to fit their time quotas). They suddenly had the back ordered part it was missing a few minutes later and were able to complete it so I went and picked it up that Friday. The alignment was still off from first driving it away but I decided to have my dealership fix it when i went in for an oil change a few weeks later figuring they'd do a better job anyway. At the dealer I was told that my car still had a bent axel arm from the accident, something that them running an alignment immediately told them. So my question is did Minsers completely miss the $1700 of damage this was or did they find it and decide it wasn't important enough to fix (I'm not sure which is worse). I then called my insurance company and they told me I had to take my car back to Minsers despite my objections. I took the car back the day after the dealer found the damage and was told they would get it fixed up. After I had dropped it off I got a call from them informing me there were allegedly scratches on my wheel insinuating I had further damaged the vehicle not related to the accident. I'm not sure what was going on with that or what they were trying to pull but I obviously had not damaged my vehicle and the call ended with that. I got my car back today and it appears to be fixed and driving like new again which I appreciate (and expect). I looked at all of my wheels and there are no scratches to be found which is interesting to me as there we're supposed "fresh" scratches on a wheel. All in all yes my car is now fixed after bringing it to them twice. They seemed to use genuine GM parts which is also a positive. Although I felt as if they were trying to take advantage of me and possibly scam me due to me being a young woman and not knowledgeable about cars. Pictures to show that the damage wasn't even that extreme.

A place you can trust!!!…read more I unfortunately wrecked my car pretty bad a few years ago and took it here for repair. It was in bad shape and they did a wonderful job of putting it back together. Someone keyed my car and another person sideswiped it and left some marks on each side of the car. I took it in for a face lift today and it looks brand new again. The owner is very nice and even had my car cleaned up for me when I came to pick it up. I would recommend this place to anyone.
