Two stars because the jalapeño margs were good and the chorizo queso was delicious. That's it though. Gusanoz is situated in a strip plaza but that's no biggie as many amazing locally owned restaurants are in settings such as this. The hostess was friendly and helpful and we were shown to a table right away as the restaurant was roughly 70% full. Our server, Dede, was a complete mess. We literally felt sorry for her, but absolutely certain that she should not be waiting tables. She fumbled through our order (legitimately couldn't find regular menu items on her tablet), forgot chips with our queso, forgot chips again when we asked for them, never refilled our waters (truly, not once and we had spicy drinks, spicy appetizer and spicy food), and seemed completely overwhelmed at other tables as well (maybe it was a bad night??) Other than the queso, our food was bland and stuffed with fillers - the burrito is stuffed with rice and beans and the chimichanga stuffed with refried beans. We are big Mexican food fans but this restaurant would unfortunately be a pass next time.

The food is just as delicious here as at their Enfield location, even if the ambiance isn't :-). The seafood tacos and the burrito I tried tasted wonderful. Cocktails are great; I was amazed at their tequila selection. Pleasant service! Will definitely return for more.

Absolutely Outstanding! Guzanos Mexican Restaurant has quickly become one of my favorite places to eat. The moment you walk in, you're greeted with the most welcoming atmosphere and staff who genuinely make you feel like family. The service is fast, friendly, and always attentive without being overbearing. The food? Incredible. Every dish is packed with fresh ingredients and bold, authentic flavors. From the perfectly seasoned meats to the warm, homemade tortillas, you can taste the care that goes into every plate. Their salsa and chips are addictive, and the entrées come out hot, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. You can tell this kitchen takes pride in what they serve. Whether you're stopping in for a quick lunch or a relaxed dinner, Guzanos delivers a consistently fantastic experience. Great portions, great prices, and genuinely great people. Highly recommend to anyone craving delicious, authentic Mexican food--you honestly can't go wrong with Guzanos!

We went on a Sunday afternoon for lunch. It was crowded but not too packed, we were able to get a table no problem. They also had a few tables outside. It was in a strip mall with plenty of parking. There was a lot of authentic decorations and tablecloths that was a nice touch! They seemed to have a full bar, and you could even sit at the bar. The menu seemed a little pricy. They had daily specials, but only Monday- Saturday so we didn't get to benefit on that. They did have a lunch menu that was cheaper. I got enchiladas off the lunch menu and they were great! They served chips and salsa before the meal but the salsa was chunky, almost like a pico de gallo. Our service was a bit slow, we sat there for about 10 minutes before anyone even came to take our drink order, but it was good besides that, just a typically Mexican restaurant!

If you are looking for food that resembles Mexican, this is not the restaurant to come to. The burritos were thin and dry. The nachos were just so. The fish tacos were ok, nothing special. With respect, I know that I can make much better meals at my house.

Stopped in after a movie. Our waitress was amazing. They serve complimentary chips and salad. The salsa is homemade and delicious. Hubby had the enchilada trio that came w cheese mole, chicken green and beef red. He really enjoyed his dish. I had the tamale and Chile relleno. I usually do not get tamales so I have nothing to compare. However, I felt this was a fry dish and really did not care for the tamale. Overall, worth a stop in especially if you are looking for a cute spot to have a few drinks.

This review is for the Enfield NH location. Ate there last night and it was fabulous! The restaurant itself is clean and vibrant and colorful. Beautiful decorations and ambience. Very fun place! We had the table side guac and it was delicious, if not large. ($11 for guac should include 2 avocados, or at least a large one) but the recipe was fabulous and the service was great. I had the chicken fajitas and they were probably the best I've had. Good portion and four tortillas made a good meal. My vegetarian friend got the quesadillas (which came with black bean option, which she loved) and was quite happy and well fed as well. I really liked this new location and we will definitely be back!

Quesadilla with no cheese and "very" little chicken. I paid for a tortilla only as you can see!!!

I ordered a chicken quesadillas and it had literally a small piece of chicken in it and some had no chicken and no cheese. I was staying at a hotel near by and figured safe bet. It was not worth the money and tip spent. In total $33.00 for this. I would've been better off going to Taco Bell.

I was trying to figure where to hold my 5th Annual 50th Bday party and it occurred to me that we…read moreare developing a bit of a "food truck scene" in Vermont and I had heard about a Taco Truck out of Hanover, NH. I googled and found "The Box." www.theboxfoodtruck.com I read their story and their menu. It sounded pretty great. So I contacted Caleb Lara (chef/owner of The Box) and arranged for him to park out front of The Hartland Diner (I own The Diner) for my birthday and "cater" for my 20-30 guests. Best. Idea. Ever. Caleb grew up in the San Diego/Baja, California area and trained at the Culinary Institute of America. After he was laid off during Covid he was able to buy The Box food truck and launched a menu based upon the Mexican taco/burrito/nacho style of the area he grew up in. O.M.G. Caleb's food is OFF THE CHARTS. Delicious beyond anything you're imagining, or anything any of us in The Upper Valley has ever had, if we're talking about tacos, nachos, burritos, Mexican "street food." The Box is serving local pork and beef (they will tell you which local farms they source from) and using The Best Quality fish that comes directly from The Boston Fish Market to The Upper Valley from Wood Mountain Fish. I personally do not eat beef, pork or poultry. But I DO eat fish. The Box's fish tacos are The Best fish tacos I've ever had. And I've eaten a lot of different kinds of fish tacos in a lot of different places. The fish is SO BEAUTIFULLY FRESH and fried to order right there inside the truck. Your actual taco shell/tortilla can make or break a taco experience. For me, it HAS to be a fresh made corn tortilla. That really is the only legitimate taco. The Box is using only fresh made, Guerrero corn tortillas that are so delicious I'd eat them alone. The vast majority of Pico de Gallo in this world is very disappointing. It tends to lack flavor and your tomatoes need to be excellent. Pico has ZERO shelf life. It is fresh ingredients and you need to make it and serve it FRESH. The Box's Pico de Gallo is the best I've ever eaten (I've eaten Pico all over the Southwest - so I'm not just talking here). Flavorful, delicious, FRESH. Tacos also have actual, Cotijo cheese. Once you've eaten these foods with legit Cotijo cheese there is no going back. Actual, authentic ingredients are what Caleb uses in The Box and you can tell. The Box serves everything with their own, fresh, from scratch salsa made with tomatoes, tomatillos, habanero peppers, amongst other things. It is INSANELY good and elevates the food even further. (I LOVE LOVE LOVE tomatillos.) I did not eat ALL DAY on my birthday so I would have room for as much Mexican food as possible. I ate 4 fish tacos. AND nachos. Since I don't eat chicken (The Box's nachos are usually made with Caleb's pulled chicken) Caleb made me vegetarian nachos. My friends. I. Love. Nachos. I could potentially eat nachos every day of my life. Sadly, most nachos are really terrible, with that horrendous so-called "nacho cheese." NOT THESE NACHOS!!! The Box nachos are made with their own, house made Guerrero tortilla chips (CRAZY FREAKING DELICIOUS), slow simmered Pinto beans (one of my favorite beans), fresh Cotijo cheese, Chipotle Crema (again, just so much more delicious than anything you've ever eaten), the house made salsa and the most perfectly ripe avocado sliced over top. It cost me about $1000 to feed my entire party the most delicious Mexican food they'd ever had and AS MUCH of it as they wanted AND I did not have to clean a single plate or pot. Just a fantastic, wonderful, DELICIOUS experience. Caleb and Donna, who ran the truck and cooked for us and served us were WONDERFUL. And Donna SANG ME Happy Birthday. I will be hiring The Box for EVERY gathering in the future. I'm not even kidding. GET THESE TACOS. Any way you can.

The tacos themselves were nicely warmed and the guac and trimmings were fresh. All in all two really tasty tacos. They were doing a promotion that day so we only got to try the carnitas, but I'd definitely go back to try their other menu items next time. Really friendly staff too. It made it a pleasure to lunch from the truck.

I am realizing, that sometimes, something broken beyond repair cannot be fixed. Including this franchise location. Upon entering, its evident, that no one is going to take your order, as All the menus are off the wall, and look like an hideous space of loneliness... and 2 kiosks sit in the middle of the room, screaming, order your food yourself, or you get nothing. After waiting a short time, our name was called to pick up our food at the counter. Had I not looked through my order in the bag before leaving, I would not have noticed that an item was missing, nor that they do not even sell such an item any longer That was still on the kiosk menu to order. When I approached the counter to ask about the mistake, I was treated as if I was a bother, then was told the item that was missing, is no longer being sold at that location anymore, and instead, they are automatically substituting it for something else of their choice(which I would have ordered, Had I wanted it- which I didn't). A few questions come to mind... -Why was that item still on the Kiosk Menu order form to order? -Why was I not notified when I picked up my order, that they no longer have that item in stock? -Why was I not given the choice to cancel that item off my order, instead of being forced to accept the substitution? -And where was that substitution in the first place? -it wasn't in my bag. I Showed the employee, that there was no substitution in my bag. At that time the employee, went to the back, and returned with 3 donut holes in a small French fry type wrapper, and more or less pushed it at me, then walked away. I was stunned, as I didn't want these things, and honestly, the description of the item sounded gross. - I tried one, and yes, confirmed, they are- Nasty. Hot donut holes, with warm flour/vanilla-type flavor mush inside. I get back home, and realize the order is completely wrong anyways. No tomatoes on one sandwich, but they did add extra cheese (which I didn't order, or want).. which ended up being closer to a cruddy grilled cheese with dog food flavored meat.. than anything I would have imagined I ordered. .. and the other sandwich had minimal tomatoes, when I asked for double, and barely any sour cream(which actually tasted like ranch anyways), and of course, that dog food flavored meat. [I say dog food flavored, as it smelled like dry kibble dog food, so I would imagine that is what it might also taste like]. These sandwiches bread items even smelled like wood chips. All for the Bargain price of $15. This was it, the LAST time. I will not be returning. I don't want any complimentary anything, don't want any apologies, I want Nothing from this place. Just wanted to put my own opinion out here, to let people know of this experience. It's Disgusting, and for anyone who still eats this garbage, I doubt your tastebuds Are still in working order. I'll be Saving that $15 from now on, and going to Five Guys. At least it's REAL Quality food With FLAVOR.
