We have been eating here since it first opened. We come over from Central VT. We didn't have True Mexican food here until recently. Many have come & gone quickly. So we always enjoyed come over here for the day and come here! We all are vegetarian and I am extreme low sodium so they were always able to accommodate me with saltless chips etc and I don't have an over sodium reaction! This trip I had my usual Black Bean & Cheese Chimichanga!! Always so delicious service with sides of Rice & your choice of beans which I always get refried! Seemed to have less cheese than in the past. My Drink is Horchata it was delicious however seemed to be lacking cinnamon in and on top of it this time. MY DH got the vegetarian Enchiladas trio! It was amazing as well! Drink his usual pineapple Jarritos. Alden A was a great waiter and very busy because everyone arrived shortly after we ordered. Some guests were high maintenance which extended our time there because of it and they even were finished and leaving before we received our check. But that's fine, it quieted down. Restaurant the restaurant is always clean including the rest rooms. The Food Network came here in 2012 and re did the menu and the restaurant decor, it was nice before they made it brighter with simple Mexican accents. Plus I noticed on AI they came back in 2017 to see how Things were!! Boy I was so happy that after a year so of the refurb they brought back our favorites!! We will be back the next time we're in the area! I did hear that there are new owners that took over a while back. Prayers that they keep up With the original owner's standards. The only confusing part was picking up our online order--I waited a long time after receiving the text that my food was ready in the takeout area, and finally had to go to the main restaurant to get someone to help. Where's the beef? I recently visited and got my usual Taco Trio,which I was never able to finish in the past. However, given the reduction in fillings and toppings, three half filled tacos was no problem. The beef was scarce and cold. Literally 3 shreds of cheese for garnish. It is sad to see an old favorite like Gusanos go downhill.....but we will be hard pressed to return and pay full price for half filled tacos.​​ read more

I have not had such delicious and authentic Mexican food and ambiance since I left California in 2014! Here are some new videos of their infamous tequila flight, which I have long wanted to try. As well as a review of each of the margaritas tasted in the flight. We also enjoyed a dessert: the house made churros. These are sweet and taste like carnival food. They look like mozzarella sticks instead of the crunchy long, narrow pinwheel shapes. This must be a churros recipe specific to the region in Mexico these are inspired by. I also tried the pork carnitas for the first time. Top them with the raw onions and cilantro with salsa or salsa verde and you have the perfect flavor combination. Everything was delicious and fabulous! Now, for the review of the margarita flight; 1.) La Kariño is made of Patrón silver with a floater of Grand Marnier on the side. Adding the floater of Grand Marnier makes it taste like a really strong tequila drink. I don't need it that strong actually but I tasted very little of the orange taste of the Grand Marnier. Most people will love this drink. As a lightweight, I would pour less of the Grand Marnier in. 2.) La Chochis is the house tequila with raspberry liquor. I'm not as much a fan of this one because it taste more like pomegranate juice than raspberry liqueur. If you like the taste of pomegranate, then you will like this drink. According to Wikipedia, Grand Marnier is a French brand of liqueurs. The brand's best-known product is Grand Marnier Cordon Rouge, an orange-flavored liqueur created in 1880 by Alexandre Marnier-Lapostolle. It is made from a blend of Cognac brandy, distilled essence of bitter orange, and sugar, containing 40% alcohol (70 British proof/ 80 US proof). 3.) La China is tart and strong. It is made with the house tequila and blue curaçao. According to Wikipedia, Curacao is a liqueur flavored with the dried peel of the bitter orange variety laraha, a citrus fruit grown on the Caribbean island of Curaçao. The liqueur is available in ... orange-colored and blue [dyed] curaçao. Blue curaçao's vibrant color adds a tropical feel to cocktails. Its flavor is bitter and sweet orange. 4.) Rosy is the house tequila with cranberry juice. I really like that too! It's very mild and you can taste the cranberries. 5.) Uca is sweet and easy with pineapple juice. I love it! 6.) The Huesos margarita is made with the house tequila and melon liqueur. This one tastes like a fun adult Kool-Aid, although you can definitely taste the tequila. Love this one the most! read more

Two stars because the jalapeño margs were good and the chorizo queso was delicious. That's it though. Gusanoz is situated in a strip plaza but that's no biggie as many amazing locally owned restaurants are in settings such as this. The hostess was friendly and helpful and we were shown to a table right away as the restaurant was roughly 70% full. Our server, Dede, was a complete mess. We literally felt sorry for her, but absolutely certain that she should not be waiting tables. She fumbled through our order (legitimately couldn't find regular menu items on her tablet), forgot chips with our queso, forgot chips again when we asked for them, never refilled our waters (truly, not once and we had spicy drinks, spicy appetizer and spicy food), and seemed completely overwhelmed at other tables as well (maybe it was a bad night??) Other than the queso, our food was bland and stuffed with fillers - the burrito is stuffed with rice and beans and the chimichanga stuffed with refried beans. We are big Mexican food fans but this restaurant would unfortunately be a pass next time. read more

Very average. Nothing is wrong, but nothing is great. The prices are crazy good though. Very reasonable! Had a chicken and cheese quesadilla and a small guacamole with chips. Quesadilla was kids menu-tier. The guacamole tasted like something you can whip up at home. The cola was actually very memorable. The right amount of syrup to soda water. The waitress was very nice though. She asked what color I wanted to sign the check in (she had about 10+ colored pens on her and they were all scented too). How fun! Overall, any meal that's out of the cold and in a warm spot is typically comforting. That goes for this place. read more

We went on a Sunday afternoon for lunch. It was crowded but not too packed, we were able to get a table no problem. They also had a few tables outside. It was in a strip mall with plenty of parking. There was a lot of authentic decorations and tablecloths that was a nice touch! They seemed to have a full bar, and you could even sit at the bar. The menu seemed a little pricy. They had daily specials, but only Monday- Saturday so we didn't get to benefit on that. They did have a lunch menu that was cheaper. I got enchiladas off the lunch menu and they were great! They served chips and salsa before the meal but the salsa was chunky, almost like a pico de gallo. Our service was a bit slow, we sat there for about 10 minutes before anyone even came to take our drink order, but it was good besides that, just a typically Mexican restaurant! read more

Stopped in after a movie. Our waitress was amazing. They serve complimentary chips and salad. The salsa is homemade and delicious. Hubby had the enchilada trio that came w cheese mole, chicken green and beef red. He really enjoyed his dish. I had the tamale and Chile relleno. I usually do not get tamales so I have nothing to compare. However, I felt this was a fry dish and really did not care for the tamale. This review is for the Enfield NH location. Ate there last night and it was fabulous! The restaurant itself is clean and vibrant and colorful. Beautiful decorations and ambience. Very fun place! We had the table side guac and it was delicious, if not large. ($11 for guac should include 2 avocados, or at least a large one) but the recipe was fabulous and the service was great. I had the chicken fajitas and they were probably the best I've had. Good portion and four tortillas made a good meal. My vegetarian friend got the quesadillas (which came with black bean option, which she loved) and was quite happy and well fed as well. Went out of their way to stay open late one night. Thank you, as there aren't too many choices for late night diners.

The best part about Gusanoz was literally the server. He was friendly and made sure our table was taken care of. I ordered the Carne Asada tacos with rice and beans and they were okay. Literally just okay and I was starving. The chips were stale and the salsa was lacking. My friend ordered their chicken and steak fajitas and I felt so bad for her and offered her one of my tacos because her chicken was so dry it crumbled when you took a bite. If you're in the area and wanting Mexican, definitely stop somewhere else. You'll just be disappointed. read more

I am traveling through and have to remind myself that NH is not a hotbed for authentic Mexican food. I had the relleno & tamale combo. The tamale was rather dry and had very little red sauce, which was bland. The relleno was good considering it was not a New Mexican chile. The beans and rice was fine. Really ALL the food was fresh and fine. But it would not pass the test anywhere south of NH. The sauces and salsa probably need to be bland as many folks aren't used to true Mexican cuisine and spicing. I wouldn't avoid the restaurant just don't expect to be in Santa Fe. read more

Have been to Guzano's probably two dozen times. We bring friends there frequently. Located in a small strip mall, but don't let that put you off. Booths, tables, and high tops. Service was slow during the pandemic, but is just fine now. Their salsa is homemade; really good and varies slightly from time to time (because its not out of a bottle). The food is delicious and arrives hot. The portions are large; I almost always ask for a take-out box for leftovers. Not a huge menu and over the past years it has not varied at all. Wish they would change things up a bit. My all-time favorite is Arroz con Polo. Other reviewers have mentioned Hazel. Totally agree; she is prompt and attentive.
