Cod with clams and chorizo

The steamed mussels in coconut broth were sweet and plump. The cod with clams and chorizo was light, but filled with flavor. Always great service in a lovely setting.

Steamed flounder with stuff snow crab meat

You would never guess that there's a restaurant here, but it served some of the best seafood I've had in a long time ... I ordered a seared tuna appetizer and the steamed flounder with stuffed snow crab meat off of the specials menu, and both was delicious. The dishes are so decadent, and all the ingredients taste extremely fresh. The seared tuna was served rare with some pickles veggies. The flounder was sooooo tender, and the crab meat filling was exquisite. Service was great and quick! The chef, Martin, even came out to say hi to us at one point - wonderful experience!

Amazing dry scallops!

We come in at 8:20 on a Monday night. Yelp indicates open til 9, but the staff is clearly cleaning up to leave when we arrive. Fortunately, the accommodating staff agree to seat us, assuring us they still have a hour of work. We luck out because the dinner is fabulous! The pork wrap appetizers and the caprice provide the perfect beginning with just the right flavor to kick off the perfect meal. The scallops are a must-try! Flown in fresh daily, never frozen, the dry scallops, served with polenta and lots of fresh fiddleheads prove to be 5 star material! The chicken, served 3 ways is a hit with my colleague and the pasta, gone in a flash. Not only is the food outstanding, but the beautiful setting - cows grazing outside, gardens in view and the lush green countryside surrounding the restaurant - all contribute to this special evening. Highly recommend a visit!

Great, unpretentious, farm fresh. Brought the family here for graduation and they enjoyed it.

I believe they're closed for the holidays unfortunately. No return of voicemails requesting reservations and no one answers the phone

Now I better understand the relatively low rating having had dinner one evening and brunch the next…read moreday at Pine over the holidays. Dinner Service was excellent and Loretta gets a shout out for her tableside manner. Manager on duty also gets a call out for accommodating my special request to slice and serve the ciabatta rolls we had just made earlier that day at King Arthur Flour. The ambiance was great, it's just sad that the food, every item we ordered whether a pasta or a short rib or a fish, were all just meh. and an expensive meh. Brunch I had higher hopes for brunch the next day given my excellent experience the last time we were in town. Should have stuck with what we ordered the last time (lobster eggs benedict, pancake, frittata, day in milan chicken sandwich). This time we ventured out and ordered the recommended duck hash which was just a bit of a mess, greasy, and not that tasty. The Day in Milan chicken sandwich was still amazing and amazingly messy to eat and the fries excellent - 5/5. But overall, most of the food we had a Pine this time was a miss.

Well marked for people with allergies. Great staff. Great drinks (even mocktails). Here's my problem. The menu changes and the food isn't consistently great. Some dishes are, some miss the mark. Over or under cooked. Plated in a challenging way. Something listed in the description of a dish is manipulated in a way that you think it's missing from the dish. Things like that. I think they don't test their dishes enough before putting them on the menu, or it may also depend on who's in the kitchen. So it's not my FIRST choice of places in the area. But, it still is one of the best places in the area.

We also had a reservation and had arrived on time. The food was fresh, very good, generous, and as others have pointed out, pricey. I only ate half my dinner and intended to take the rest home. Another employee took my plate and set it aside, and the server threw it away. No offer to rectify the situation in any way, just a shrug with an apology without accountability and out the door we went. There were only two other people in the dining room, no one was waiting in the lounge for a table, and we had been very quiet and not in the least way demanding. I had been scoping this as a potential venue for my board of directors dinner as well as for when I have house guests. Sadly, this one is off the list. I would be so embarrassed to have guests treated this way. One good callout: three of the five entrées offered were vegetarian and the salads were huge.

They get a lot of guests here that are attending the King Arthur's baking school about 1 mile away. They offer refrigeration services for the dozens of breads you will bake! We stayed in the main building where the restaurant and bar are located. It's all very cozy and seemed to support many local community gatherings during our 1 week stay. The rooms however are smaller with an old radiator which didn't do a great job of giving you much temperature control. The beds are comfortable but the bathroom and shower is on the smaller side. Also the floor boards are creaky so we could hear our upstairs neighbors moving around. For EV drivers - they offer slow onsite chargers for a fee.

It has what I would call "charming wear and tear" - part of the vintage character of a New England inn. There is no attempt to retain the charm of yesteryear while providing the qualities of the modern era, this is pure charm of yesteryear. With multiple sitting areas, guest rooms in different shapes and styles, as well as attic rooms with interesting roof lines and floor plans, it works. I will say that the mattress in our suite was too soft for us - we are used to a firm mattress - so if you have a sensitive spine you might want to ask if they have a room with a firmer mattress. The breakfast offered eggs, sausage and bacon, muffins, bagels etc. Simple and good enough. Guest reception pretty much terminates around 8 PM so if your arrival is anything later than that you reach out in advance for directions to access the property. Overall a typical New England style Inn in a typical New England town that is a cozy respite for a weary traveler. I would say my most accurate rating would be 3 1/2 stars.
