We had dinner here with a reservation on a Friday night and the place was packed. Despite how busy it was, the service was fantastic. Our server was knowledgeable about what ingredients were in the dishes and made sure to accommodate our table's different allergies. We got a bunch of small plates to share and the highlights were: * Ceviche - fresh and with delicious sour citrus flavors * Bacon-wrapped plantains - the perfect combination of sweet and savory flavors, plus crunchy-chewy and soft textures. * Octopus - perfectly cooked, flavorful, and topped with perfectly cooked potatoes The dishes were on the pricier side, but the great service and lively atmosphere made for a great group dinner experience.

Fun little spot! They've got a rotating menu, handcrafted cocktails, and a fun, lively atmosphere. It does get a little cramped inside, but the energy adds to the experience. Our server was friendly, knowledgeable, and gave great recommendations throughout the meal. We tried a few different dishes and honestly loved everything. The standouts were definitely the mussels and the ribs. The mussels were huge, fresh, and packed with flavor, while the ribs were coated in a tangy-sweet sauce and literally fell right off the bone. Would absolutely come back to try more of the menu!

Obsessed is an understatement when I think of this spot. Gustazo has perfected and elevated the tapas game. I came here for a date night and sat on the back patio. The water fountain and string lights provided a lovely, romantic ambiance. Our server was most helpful when trying to decide which plates to select. Every dish sounded amazing, but we were helped with narrowing down our choices, which I highly recommend doing as they know best! I cannot wait to bring friends and family here to enjoy these amazing dishes!

My large group had a great experience. I say 4.5 stars as my vegetarian dish was not elevated like others. I had Ropa Vieja de hongos and while tasty, it was not special. All other dishes pretty much had an elevated presentation and I was told very tasty. Service was very good which is why I think it deserves a little more than 4 stars. Compliments to the chef!

Gustazo Cuban Kitchen & Bar has such a cool atmosphere. Service was very nice but a little slow. All the food looked beautiful and tasted amazing!!! we ordered the chicharrones, mussels, pulpo, and the Croquetas de Jamón were the best. Definitely worth going back.

Gustazo Cambridge has become one of our go-to places for celebrating special occasions, and for good reason! We were seated upstairs, where the energy was buzzing -- perfect if you enjoy a lively dining experience. On another visit we tried the downstairs area, which has a quieter, more intimate atmosphere, making it ideal for conversation. It's wonderful to have both options depending on the mood you are in. The food is consistently outstanding. Each dish bursts with great flavors and is plated beautifully. One of the things we appreciate most is the range of vegetarian options, which isn't common in many tapas restaurants. The vegetarian dishes are creative, full of flavor, and thoughtfully crafted so you never feel like an afterthought. Service is always top notch! At the last visit Mariam took great care of us. She was warm, attentive, and so knowledgeable about the menu. She made excellent recommendations and checked in just the right amount to make sure everything was perfect. Her genuine hospitality elevated our dining experience from great to exceptional. Our favorite dishes have been- *Yuca Fries *Corn Fritters *Ensalada de Habas (fava beans salad) *Sweet plantains *Lamb chops *Camarones a la Plancha (small plate grilled shrimp) *Arroz con Pollo (Pan roasted half chicken) *Ropa Vieja de Hongos (Mushroom Ropa Vieja) *Tres Leches Highly recommend Gustazo if you're looking for incredible food, a vibrant atmosphere, and amazing service!!

Finally tried this place after hearing so many good things about it. And as excited I was from all the hype, I will say I was a little disappointed after trying it. I started with a jalapeño margarita which was pretty good but a little spicy for my taste. I had read many reviews about the appetizer's, so I decided to try a few. The empanadas were pretty good, didn't care for the fish tacos on the plantain shell, and the ribs were just ok. I'd try different ones if I were to come back. We were still pretty hungry, so my boyfriend got the ropa vieja which he liked. I had a few bites that were good as well. We ended with churros for dessert which were light and fluffy, paired with a nice chocolate sauce. It was quite busy but food didn't take too long. It's also a smaller space and tables are very close together, so our experience was quite noisy. It was a nice introduction to cuban food but I wasn't totally impressed unfortunately. I think it's a nice place to maybe meet friends and grab some small plates but it didn't wow my expectation's, and it's pretty pricey for small portions.

Thrilled that Gustazo is n9w offering brunch! We went this past weekend and loved it. The chicken and waffles were fabulous. There's so much chicken and it is flavorful, juicy, and crunchy. The spicy guava syrup on the waffle is great. The portion is huge. More than enough for two big servings. We also got eggs with pulled pork. Delicious! I like the new brunch cocktails too. It was quiet when we wre there. As usual, the service was excellent.

Delicious and wonderful ambience. Fortunately for us they had plenty of patio seats for those without reservations. Maybe in winter, you'd need a reservation as seats filled quickly. Food was rich and savory, although leaning towards the saltier side. The tapas are definitely meant to be tapas - for example the tacos and chicharrones only had two little servings of the dish. The food did take a little bit of time to come out (to the point where I finished my whole drink before any food came out) but I think it attests to freshness and time needed to prepare each dish, which were all nicely presented. Not the cheapest meal but it was a lovely experience. Metered parking nearby til 8pm.

I've been here multiple times and the food is consistently good! The dishes are small and big plates and best shared so you can try more dishes. Each of the dishes are beautifully presented and flavors are complex. The restaurant has many tables and there's even seating downstairs. I recommend making reservations! My favs were the baby back ribs, ropa vieja, grilled lamb chops, and yuca fries.

3.5 out of 5 stars We went to dinner for my birthday on a Tuesday night. There was a good amount of people for a Tuesday night. The restaurant is cozy with dim lighting, definitely date night vibes. Service was good overall. I had to greet the hostess, but our server was high energy and friendly. He was attentive with our 6 year old and kind enough to bring us a birthday dessert when my daughter mentioned it was my birthday. I had included it in the reservation notes, but this hadn't been communicated. It did feel like they were a bit understaffed and he seemed rushed. The food was also just good. I really liked the portions for the tapas and the variety. We had a number of dishes, but none of them stood out as something we would go back for. The menu was not kid friendly, which is fine because it's not a restaurant that most people would take their kids to. Overall, given the reviews, I was expecting a bit more, but dinner was enjoyed.

I really enjoyed Gustazo! We've had this on our place to visit, and I'm glad we finally made it in. Upon walking in, I really love the atmosphere and the artwork on the walls. The hostess and waitress were both pleasant. First we ordered the fried yuca, which was great. Next, we had lamb chops, which were cooked well, just wish there were 4 instead of 3. For dinner we ordered the shrimp fried rice and the arroz con pollo. The fried rice was great and had some pork as well. The chicken and rice was fantastic, with juicy chicken and well cooked rice. The prices may be a tad high for the portions but the food is good. I can't wait to go back and highly recommend.

This should have received 5 stars based on the food. I'm from Tampa and Cuban food is absolutely one of my favorites. We did not have one singular item that wasn't amazing. Spinach empanadas were lite and flaky, ropa veija was the best I've ever had. Slightly spicy but that's how I like it. Drinks were good and everything else we ate was amazing. The reasons for the star downgrade. #1 we had a reservation for the main dining room. They sat us in the bottom floor. The ambience in the main floor is amazing. The basement is not great. #2 our service was really slow and it was not our waiters fault. He got to us as fast as he could. The basement was slammed and they only had two servers working that entire floor. That delayed request for drink refills and additional food items. We will definitely be back but hope to get the room requested and that they staff up a little more. Again...food was amazing!!!!!

Ask the Community - Gustazo Cuban Kitchen & Bar - Cambridge

Are there any heating elements in the outdoor seating?

yes - they had multiple heating towers a few weeks ago

How is the social distancing and spacing in seating?

it just opened back up yesterday so I guess we shall see. Luckily they are working with quite a bit of space in the dining room.

    Do they have vegetarian options?

    Yes, many :-)

Is it true that this restaurant limits the amount of time one can stay at the table for each reservation? I heard one can only stay at the table for 90 minutes. Thanks

They don't limit the time unless it gets really busy and there are reservations. We were there for 2 hours and more and no one rushes you to eat and leave. The staff services was great, no place can be like them.

    Are reservations accepted?

    Yes. On www.opentable.com for example.

All street parking and we had to circle around to find a spot so plan ahead. We got a red wine and the flawless victory cocktail. I got to try a couple wines before committing to a glass. My partner loved his cocktail. Super well balanced and really unique combo of flavors. Both drinks paired well with all our food too. Zucchini pancakes (2/5) - the only miss. The pancakes were not crispy at all and ate very mushy. The carrot curry was delish but all the flavors together with the raita didn't really do it for me. White bean hummus (4/5) - amazing flavor and the little sesame ring it comes with was yummy. The texture of the hummus could have been smoother though. Sugar snaps (5/5) - perfect sweet and salty balance and really great texture from the quinoa. Good creaminess too. Octopus souvlaki (5/5) - well charred octopus and tender. The flavors were rich in flavor. Yellow split pea was a nice creamy base. Revani snack cake (5/5) - we almost didn't get dessert but glad we did! It a citrus pound cake with a pineapple glaze and a spiced macadamia crunchy topping. Served chilled. Very yummy and not too heavy. Overall very happy we tried this place. Okay, for a solo adventure I chose the bar and yes, they took me to a seat there. Looking at the menu I knew it was tapas style going in but before I could really start looking at anything the bar tender said, "or, there's a chef tasting." Okay, stop there, let's just do that and add the meat and fish option. To start was the Strawberry Fattoush - Little Gems, Cucumber, Pomegranate Vinaigrette, Pita Chips, Sumac - amazing. Next was the Warm Buttered Hummus - Basturma, Tomato, Black Olive. Still doing great! Then the Fried Mussels - Hot Peppers, Turkish Almond Tarator Sauce. Can't say I have ever had those before! The Spinach Falafel - Tahini, Beet Tzatziki, Pickles was next. Though you could roll it up, eating it that way was pointless. Back to the knife and fork. After that was the Grilled Asparagus - Sorrel Aioli, Puffed Black Rice, Bergamot Honey. Probably the most familiar looking dish of the night. Then the Sultan's Delight - Tamarind Beef, Smoky Eggplant Purée, Basil. Aamazing! Still going after that was the Swordfish - Nettle Freekah, Red Pepper Tahini, Buttermilk Fried Fiddle Heads. Then finally the Turkish-Style Profiteroles - Brown Butter Crème, Sesame Caramel Cashews, Halva with something else on the side. All of this with a Shepherds Pilsner which I believe is my first brew from Palestine. Who knew that was possible? Needless to say, the meal was quite an adventure. Definitely worth it. All amazing as was the service at the bar!

Oh, Oleana! Tucked…read moreaway in Cambridge, Oleana is a cozy Mediterranean restaurant serving small plates. My partner and I managed to snag a last-minute reservation on a Tuesday night, and even at 9 p.m. the restaurant was still lively. Between the beautiful decor and warm atmosphere, it made for a great date night spot, though it was admittedly a bit dim (apologies in advance for the photo quality!) Between the two of us, we ended up ordering quite a few dishes: Whipped Feta (4/5): This was good, though I was hoping for a stronger roasted pepper flavor. Nothing wrong with it, but it didn't quite stand out. Interestingly, we overheard the table next to us mention the same thing, so maybe this one's a bit hit or miss. Spinach Falafel (4/5): Another solid dish. It was bright, colorful, and fresh, though a little messy to eat. Our waiter rather bluntly told us to "just wrap it and bite," which caught us a little off guard, but it was good nonetheless. Fatteh (4.5/5): Our favorite appetizer of the night. The creamy roasted cauliflower paired so well with the crispy pita, and I especially loved the sweetness the onions brought to the dish. Sultan's Delight (5/5): As everyone else says, this is the one to order. The beef was incredibly tender and rich. In hindsight, I almost wish we'd had the potatoes from the Adana Kebab to eat alongside it because they would've been the perfect accompaniment. Vermont Quail Kebab (5/5): Tied with the Sultan's Delight as our favorite entrée. The quail was juicy, well-spiced, and surprisingly easy to eat. I'd absolutely order this again. Adana Kebab (4/5): By this point, I think we were simply getting full. The kebab itself was good, but not nearly as memorable as the other meat dishes. Ironically, the potatoes and peppers that came with it might have been my favorite part--they would've paired perfectly with the Sultan's Delight. Baked Alaska (4.5/5): Delicious. The toasted meringue paired wonderfully with the coconut ice cream, though we were a little mixed on the passionfruit caramel, which came across slightly burnt and more acidic than expected. After a while the meringue did become quite sweet, so we ended up pairing some with the Muhallebi. Dark Chocolate Muhallebi (3.5/5): Yes...we ordered two desserts. I was mostly drawn in by the kaymak ice cream, but the Muhallebi itself was almost completely unsweetened. I'm usually all for desserts that aren't overly sweet, but this one leaned more savory than I expected. We actually ended up adding some leftover meringue from the Baked Alaska to balance it out. Looking back, given both our appetites (and our wallets), I think we would've been perfectly happy just ordering the Baked Alaska. Overall, Oleana was a lovely spot for a date night. While it didn't quite live up to the lofty expectations I'd built up from all the praise, we still had a really enjoyable meal. Our main waiter was kind, and I appreciated that the dishes came out in rounds, giving us plenty of time to eat and chat. The meat dishes were definitely the highlights for us, but overall there's a lot to like here.

Little Donkey is definitely more of a "let's order a few things, chat for a while, and try bites…read morehere and there" kind of spot than a place you go to when you're starving. I've been extra hungry lately, so fair warning: if you have a big appetite and care a lot about portion-to-price value, this may not fully hit the spot. First things first: no bread. Not a complaint, just important information as I discover which spots in Boston are part of the bread movement. We started with the salmon crudo. I somehow thought it came with the burnt crispy rice, but that was my mistake - it's actually four small slices of salmon. That said, it was really flavorful and tasty. Next was the arancini: three pieces plus a pepper to share. Super good if you're into cheese. Crispy outside, cheesy inside, cooked well, no complaints there. Then the burger, which came split into two. Honestly, yummy burger. Simple. Solid. Probably the most filling thing we ordered, especially alongside the beer, which I was genuinely grateful for because it helped balance out the tiny portions situation. Dessert was the cookie dough. Exactly what you'd expect: cookie dough served on a mixer ladle with cream on the side. I didn't care much for the cream, but the cookie dough itself was good in a very straightforward way. If you like cookie dough, you'll like it. Overall, I'd say it's a good spot if you want to taste and try different things in a fun atmosphere. But if you're someone with a serious appetite who's looking for generous portions and strong value for size, there are probably other spots I'd pick first. Food came out fast and with the serving sizes and the speed of eating, was done with the meal in less than an hour - should've chewed slower lol

Hats off to her:) Food: Since it was restaurant week we just shared everything. For starters we ordered the Tuna Tartare that was excellent. Then, we had Piri-Piri Chicken Thighs that were also good but quite spicy. For dessert, we shared the Caribbean Tiramisu, which was great. It was a tough choice between this and the Guava Cheesecake. We were so full that we ended up bringing home leftovers. Oh, I also forgot to mention we always order their Curry Fries - a must try when coming here Trust Me. My husband doesn't love curry but he loves these fries and you will too. #friesaretodiefor Moon Bar, thanks for being amazing in every way. Thanks for your splendid service, crafty cocktails, delicious wine (try the Pinot Noir from Germany), and your amazing food ---Love those Curry Fries! "Alexa, make reservations for 2 at Moon Bar for tonight." Cheers~

What an amazing time we had a moon bar! The ambience was perfect for a girls night out and great…read morewall art. All the drinks we got were delicious which I feel like is rare for a bar. The great palm and golden colada were my favorite. They were both sweet with a tangy aftertaste. The roasted cauliflower was very flavorful. It was heavy on the sauce which was great and loved the crunch of the cashews. The tandoori chicken was my favorite. It was very juicy and tender chicken marinated well. The curly fires had a great masala seasoning. The yogurt based was my favorite to dip into. The staff were excellent with frequent check in and quick service. Overall, I highly recommend this place.

We came around 6pm on a weekday and it was completely empty…read more We came here because we saw tik tok videos of how fun, busy, and vibrant this place was but I think we just came at the wrong time and wrong day. The business is sort of in a house? It was small and kind of dark inside. It was definitely an interesting experience,,, The appetizer was reallyyy good, I forgot the name though... The mole however, was not very good. The mole was liquidy and the chicken was dry. Overall, I think this place is more for fun busy nights where you just drink and apps. I'd like to come again when its busier and we aren't the only customers.

Tulum is an elevated Mexican restaurant an extensive food and drink menu (especially tequila) too…read more It's in kind of a weird neighborhood of Somerville that's hard to get to without a car but lots of parking. We started off with two drinks- a frozen mangonada and this passion fruit drink. They were both solid but I liked the mangonada better because the passion fruit cocktail had too much pulp in it! For food, we started off with chips and guac. This guac was some of the best I've had. It was super fresh and you could tell exactly what ingredients they used. We also their pork ribs! The ribs fell off the bone and I loved the warm sauce except it was a tiny bit dry. The sauce was reminiscent of an umami bbq sauce. We decided to try their zucchini dish, as recommended by the manager! I don't love zucchini usually but I liked it. It was roasted with cheese, sauces, and some shrimp. Very creative, Lastly we got the tuna ceviche of the day. I didn't really like this because it was really heavy on the dill. I think it would've been good without it. However the presentation was gorgeous and it came with plantains. Overall the vibes are superb here for a date, girls night, or whatever!!
