Honestly, I'm not sure if Cuban food is really salty or just this restaurant cooks everything with a heavy hand. EVERYTHING was so salty I couldn't even taste the flavors of the food. The yuka fries were really good though and you can taste the truffle oil.

The vibes were super cute, especially in the outdoor seating! Service was great as well. My favorite dish of the night was the yuca fries with the sauce, so good!! I also enjoyed the tres leches, they were very generous with the milk and coconut syrup. The other dishes were also good, but very very salty.

Fun little spot! They've got a rotating menu, handcrafted cocktails, and a fun, lively atmosphere. It does get a little cramped inside, but the energy adds to the experience. Our server was friendly, knowledgeable, and gave great recommendations throughout the meal. We tried a few different dishes and honestly loved everything. The standouts were definitely the mussels and the ribs. The mussels were huge, fresh, and packed with flavor, while the ribs were coated in a tangy-sweet sauce and literally fell right off the bone. Would absolutely come back to try more of the menu!

We had dinner here with a reservation on a Friday night and the place was packed. Despite how busy it was, the service was fantastic. Our server was knowledgeable about what ingredients were in the dishes and made sure to accommodate our table's different allergies. We got a bunch of small plates to share and the highlights were: * Ceviche - fresh and with delicious sour citrus flavors * Bacon-wrapped plantains - the perfect combination of sweet and savory flavors, plus crunchy-chewy and soft textures. * Octopus - perfectly cooked, flavorful, and topped with perfectly cooked potatoes The dishes were on the pricier side, but the great service and lively atmosphere made for a great group dinner experience.

Went for a friends birthday dinner and was able to get seated right away with our reservation. We went on a Friday but it wasn't too packed. Loved the interior and the staff were so friendly. It was a bit warm inside though, didn't seem like there was AC. Food and drinks were amazing but my favorite was the mussels!

Obsessed is an understatement when I think of this spot. Gustazo has perfected and elevated the tapas game. I came here for a date night and sat on the back patio. The water fountain and string lights provided a lovely, romantic ambiance. Our server was most helpful when trying to decide which plates to select. Every dish sounded amazing, but we were helped with narrowing down our choices, which I highly recommend doing as they know best! I cannot wait to bring friends and family here to enjoy these amazing dishes!

Gustazo Cambridge has become one of our go-to places for celebrating special occasions, and for good reason! We were seated upstairs, where the energy was buzzing -- perfect if you enjoy a lively dining experience. On another visit we tried the downstairs area, which has a quieter, more intimate atmosphere, making it ideal for conversation. It's wonderful to have both options depending on the mood you are in. The food is consistently outstanding. Each dish bursts with great flavors and is plated beautifully. One of the things we appreciate most is the range of vegetarian options, which isn't common in many tapas restaurants. The vegetarian dishes are creative, full of flavor, and thoughtfully crafted so you never feel like an afterthought. Service is always top notch! At the last visit Mariam took great care of us. She was warm, attentive, and so knowledgeable about the menu. She made excellent recommendations and checked in just the right amount to make sure everything was perfect. Her genuine hospitality elevated our dining experience from great to exceptional. Our favorite dishes have been- *Yuca Fries *Corn Fritters *Ensalada de Habas (fava beans salad) *Sweet plantains *Lamb chops *Camarones a la Plancha (small plate grilled shrimp) *Arroz con Pollo (Pan roasted half chicken) *Ropa Vieja de Hongos (Mushroom Ropa Vieja) *Tres Leches Highly recommend Gustazo if you're looking for incredible food, a vibrant atmosphere, and amazing service!!

My large group had a great experience. I say 4.5 stars as my vegetarian dish was not elevated like others. I had Ropa Vieja de hongos and while tasty, it was not special. All other dishes pretty much had an elevated presentation and I was told very tasty. Service was very good which is why I think it deserves a little more than 4 stars. Compliments to the chef!

Gustazo Cuban Kitchen & Bar has such a cool atmosphere. Service was very nice but a little slow. All the food looked beautiful and tasted amazing!!! we ordered the chicharrones, mussels, pulpo, and the Croquetas de Jamón were the best. Definitely worth going back.

Finally tried this place after hearing so many good things about it. And as excited I was from all the hype, I will say I was a little disappointed after trying it. I started with a jalapeño margarita which was pretty good but a little spicy for my taste. I had read many reviews about the appetizer's, so I decided to try a few. The empanadas were pretty good, didn't care for the fish tacos on the plantain shell, and the ribs were just ok. I'd try different ones if I were to come back. We were still pretty hungry, so my boyfriend got the ropa vieja which he liked. I had a few bites that were good as well. We ended with churros for dessert which were light and fluffy, paired with a nice chocolate sauce. It was quite busy but food didn't take too long. It's also a smaller space and tables are very close together, so our experience was quite noisy. It was a nice introduction to cuban food but I wasn't totally impressed unfortunately. I think it's a nice place to maybe meet friends and grab some small plates but it didn't wow my expectation's, and it's pretty pricey for small portions.

Delicious and wonderful ambience. Fortunately for us they had plenty of patio seats for those without reservations. Maybe in winter, you'd need a reservation as seats filled quickly. Food was rich and savory, although leaning towards the saltier side. The tapas are definitely meant to be tapas - for example the tacos and chicharrones only had two little servings of the dish. The food did take a little bit of time to come out (to the point where I finished my whole drink before any food came out) but I think it attests to freshness and time needed to prepare each dish, which were all nicely presented. Not the cheapest meal but it was a lovely experience. Metered parking nearby til 8pm.

I've been here multiple times and the food is consistently good! The dishes are small and big plates and best shared so you can try more dishes. Each of the dishes are beautifully presented and flavors are complex. The restaurant has many tables and there's even seating downstairs. I recommend making reservations! My favs were the baby back ribs, ropa vieja, grilled lamb chops, and yuca fries.

    the amazing lamb chops!

we went for my friend's grad dinner. i never thought food could taste this good haha the service was a bit slow but thats understandable because this place was packed!!! they were also very accomodating to my requests. the ambiance was nice and calm. a little loud but it was very pretty. finally my food ranking list - 10 outta motherfckin 10 so many bangers: lamb chops - best thing ever shrimp - second best chicken large plate virgin guava mocktail flan 2021 muga rioja wine good: ribs (i did not eat this) salmon large plate dont get the: guac, plantain chips, bacon wrapped dates Favorite Dishes: Lamb chops

Ask the Community - Gustazo Cuban Kitchen & Bar - Cambridge

Are there any heating elements in the outdoor seating?

yes - they had multiple heating towers a few weeks ago

How is the social distancing and spacing in seating?

it just opened back up yesterday so I guess we shall see. Luckily they are working with quite a bit of space in the dining room.

    Do they have vegetarian options?

    Yes, many :-)

Is it true that this restaurant limits the amount of time one can stay at the table for each reservation? I heard one can only stay at the table for 90 minutes. Thanks

They don't limit the time unless it gets really busy and there are reservations. We were there for 2 hours and more and no one rushes you to eat and leave. The staff services was great, no place can be like them.

    Are reservations accepted?

    Yes. On www.opentable.com for example.

This place is known for its sweet, fruity cocktails served in the cutest and most creative mugs, and they definitely deliver! The drinks are fun, delicious, and honestly part of the experience. The vibe and ambiance are another reason to come. Dim lighting. I got to explore more of the menu, try different foods and drinks, and once again, they did not disappoint. And I have to mention that crème brûlée again because OMG! It's easily one of my favorite things there. Please don't leave without trying it. Thank me later! Great food, great drinks, great service, and GOOD VIBES. Cambridge is a city jam packed with a lavish selection of fine eateries from corner to corner. As…read morewith options this vast, it can be daunting making a decision on where first to embark. Luckily for us, my bestie and her hubby were our unofficial tour guides for the evening, as we ventured on a casual double date night at none other than Grafton Street. It's as every bit as street level as its exterior decorum exudes. Incidentally enough, we discovered that the best time to arrive on a Friday night is anytime before 7:30, because that's when the crowd decided to show up. That having been said, it's important to note this place can become very noisy very quickly. It is a bar after all. And the lushes were afoot on this most boisterous Friday night. So anyways, we started the night off with two apps.. Spinach and Artichoke Dip: My bestie highly recommended this app and her palate was most spot-on with this one. Creamy as hell with large Artichokes throughout. And the homemade chips add a much appreciated rustic touch to the whole thing. Though, I do wish there were an option to add a protein like shrimp or even lobster meat or something. 9 out of 10, would recommend! Steak Tartare: What's the best way to put this? I think....misleading sums it up. I'd even go as far to say this felt like a fake tartare. For one thing, it didn't even look the right color. And that's likely because it was doused in some kind of dressing that gave the whole thing an unusual taste. Now, we've had our fair share of tartare apps in the past; the carpaccio from Proper Chophouse at the Nash Casino being among the best. But this one had a strange flavor with a bizarre, chewy texture that just didn't sit right with us. Not only was the beef unrefined, it was also underseasoned. Needless to say, we ended up sending this one back after only one bite each and swapped it out for the artichoke dip. 1 out of 10, this one just didn't work. Onto the mains.. Shepherd's Pie: From what I gather, the wifey was quite pleased with this one. She just needed to add her copious amounts of salt as she does because she's the salt queen. After which, she thoroughly enjoyed it. We also appreciate the fact this is a REAL Shepherd's Pie and not merely cosplaying as many other restaurants do by making theirs with beef. Nay. Nothing but lamb in this legit dish. Grilled Pork Chop: Okay. I need to start this out by stating how elated I was to finally try a properly cooked pork chop in a restaurant. So, a little background story - growing up in the 80s, I was fooled into believing pork chop was simply something I pretended to enjoy, since it was always a thin cut, overcooked, dry as hell slab of anemically seasoned pork. Ch'yeah...my uncle really cooked like a donkey sometimes. Anywho, fast forward to 2026 and I'm presented with this gorgeous cut of freshly grilled pork. Right away, I can tell that it is WELL seasoned! A lot. Like...salty. VERY salty. Salty like the sea. Chat, the pork was overseasoned. And I can't even believe I'm saying that! But allow me to elaborate. It wasn't overseasoned to the point of being inedible. But JUST over the mark. And I've NEVER had that happen in a restaurant setting before. Usually, you'll hear me complain about food being quite the reverse. This is so rare, in fact, that I initially had a tough time admitting it to myself. After bite number 7 or 8, I thought, "Wow! This is the saltiest piece of meat I've ever tasted inside restaurant walls!" The insides of my mouth felt drier than Pakistan. I felt as if the Special Forces were about to start conducting maneuvers inside my mouth-hole imminently. But, I digress. This one was OKAY, but I don't think I'd get it again. 7 out 10, not sure if they'll take requests for reduced sodium, but....be sure to drink a tall glass of water with this one. Side note on the potato salad: it was good. Not quite as good as the one I make at home. Though, I can appreciate the fact they use Yukon Gold potatoes, same as me. This one was served warm, however; possibly due to the hot pork chop sitting atop of it. All things considered, we would certainly return. The vibe is contemporary, as is its decorum. And wouldn't you know it? They actually have tap-to-pay courtesy of their mobile POS systems! That was an unexpected, considering normally only casual chain dine-in restaurants have that sort of thing. Next time around, I'd be willing to try a burger or even the fish n' chips, if the mood so fits. Taking into account their potential, aside from their one-off faux pas, I'm gonna give Grafton Street 4 savory pork chops hot off the grill out of 5.

We opted for their Passim burger with thyme fries on a brioche bun which exceeded my expectations for a place that's primarily a music venue. I thought the food would be more of an afterthought but it was equivalent to a casual bistro or gastropub. We sat right in the front row which was amazing for the experience and pics but I would recommend maybe bringing some ear protection if you sit this close. Our show was supposedly sold out but we lucked out that the folks seated next to us didn't show- otherwise I could see that one would be really packed in here as the seating is extremely close together. The performance was amazing! We absolutely loved the show and the intimate vibes. I also really appreciated that Fabiola took some time to explain her instrument, some Puerto Rican history and her experience growing up playing a folk instrument. She graduated from Berklee in 2018 and also brought in a Cuban tres player named Olivia Soler Espinosa in the latter part of her performance who is currently studying at Berklee. Another cool aspect of this place was the mixed ages. There was a good representation of older folks who looked like they have been coming to Passim since the 60s as well as younger folks in their 20s and 30s as well as folks in between. Anyone should feel welcome here.
