Probably in the state if I think about it. Legit cocktails. Very, very good food. Veg options. Creative and affordable mugs. An adjacent parking structure (the only one in Harvard Square). The place is unicorn material. I've been here maybe four times over several years. Shame on me for finishing this cumulative review now. The good news is every visit was solid. I've been here as a small and also large party. Sat at both the bar and table. Had reservations and also walked in. Visited in the summer and also winter. Weekends are tough to get in without a resy. It's tiny. And its Cambridge. Weekdays you'll be fine but reserve anyway. It's free. From bar to tables to booths, you're covered with seating. Can they serve a table for ten? Maybe but I wouldn't be that person. Check ahead of time. Drinks are strong. Sometimes sweet but mostly balanced. Food is yummy. Plenty of vegetarian and vegan options clearly marked on the menu. Serving dishes and bowls are fun too: skulls/shells/etc. Enjoy this hidden secret. And don't steal the mugs. Buy them--they're so reasonable. read more

WR was directly behind my hotel and tiki bar had me sold. I entered and the sign said "wait to be seated" and I waited... And waited... And eventually walked to the bar and asked the multiple staff members standing near the bar if I could sit. They said yes, so I did. There were 3 mai tais on the menu so I went with the recently revised version, recommended by the bartender. It was served in a super cute takeout box cup. I then had one of the sweeter rated drinks that had coconut rice milk or something. Also delicious. I waited too long to order food because by the time I was done with my 2nd drink, I was ready to head out and still didn't have my food. I asked the bartender if they were able to pack my order to go and he made a note on my order and it came to go container soon after. I brought it back to my hotel, had a few bites, put it in the fridge and one about my evening. The crab rangoon was delicious, the lemongrass chicken thigh on skewers was also delicious and the spring rolls with bang bang chicken were just okay. They came with peanut sauce that I felt like should have had a much stronger peanut flavor and the spring rolls and themselves ended up sticking together and ripping apart when I attempted to eat them later that evening. I wish I had ordered other food to bring back to my hotel room because the items I ordered really were not satiating but I was conservative with how much I was spending. I would recommend WS for the drinks and food, but I don't think all of the food is a hit. I will know that the place seemed to be very busy very quickly. Other people approach the bar and asked if they could sit there and staff questioned if they had reservations, which they didn't do to me, and those people were ultimately turned away from sitting at the bar. As a result, I don't exactly know how the seating works here, but as a single female I didn't have a hard time getting a seat at the bar but would probably try to make a reservation if I was going to go again. read more

What stands out as spectacular is the decor and ambiance - you feel transported to another time and place, which is so fun! The hostess is unnecessarily rude and curt - a poor first impression, and servers are not well-versed on the menu and allergens. The menu misidentified items for gluten, vegetarian, vegan, etc. so please double check before ordering. They have taken off many of their popular items from the menu. And also their mocktails. We had made this reservation assuming we had more options, only to find out once we got there that they now have a very limited menu. Nonetheless, the food was really good. We came to wusong road on a trip up to Boston after getting the recommendation from a friend who comes here every time they visit. Funny enough when we visited my friend was also in town that weekend and by happenstance we happened to get to the restaurant at the same time. I would definitely make reservations because I did not realize you would need a reservation for a Wednesday night, but we did. Luckily we were able to give our name and they had a cancellation and were able to be seated within 20 to 30 minutes. The upstairs is pretty cool. I really like the decor. One of my favorites was these monkey lamps they had. The food was pretty good and we had gotten a slider for my son which basically filled him up. My wife and I split a poo poo platter and got an appetizer and that was enough for us. The drinks were really good. We had gotten a few to try. I like my first one and really enjoyed my second one. I asked the waitress for a recommendation and she made one and then when we went for our second round she did say she was new to the job so I went with something I knew I would like. They also sell some of their mugs which is a cool bonus. If your into tiki drinks definitely pick up a wusong road branded mug when you stop by. We got two. read more

We live a good tiki, and as soon as we walked in to this gem we knew it would be a hit. The kitsch, the wide variety of mugs for sale Abe the ambiance were spot on. We sat at the bar do we could enjoy interacting with the friendly bartender and fellow guests. We ordered the Flight Risk and the Zombie which were flavorful and nicely presented. The flight risk was good but did have a fairly strong curry flavor so I probably wouldn't order it again. I did wish they had a few more options for not too sweet drinks on the menu but did like that they rated the strength and sweetness. For dinner we shared the satay which came with a tasty and unique sunflower seed sauce, the cauliflower and the rangoons. The rangoons were tasty but could have been warmer- they deliver the meals on carts so it could be that they were sitting on it for a while for dessert we had a Mai Tai! A little pricey, but in my opinion, very much worth it! My friend and I went here for dinner the other day. We sat at the bar and ordered drinks. I got the mango sticky rice cocktail, which was served in an ADORABLE mug. The cocktail was strong ($15) but sweet like juice, a dangerous combination. I loved it and had to force myself to savor it with slow sips instead of guzzling it. We shared the pu pu platter for two, which was a bit expensive at 50-something dollars but came with a LOT of food. Plenty for two people and maybe even enough for four. The platter came with a variety of delicious things. There were chicken skewers and beef skewers, and both were cooked perfectly. The chicken was juicy and tender, and the beef was a great medium rare. There were also scallion cheese quesadillas (yum!), crab Rangoons, and fried fish. The only thing I didn't really like was the vegan egg roll. I could really tell it was vegan, and the veggie filling was too salty for my taste-buds. We also ordered the ma la tater tots. I was skeptical about ordering tater tots at an Asian restaurant, but they were fantastic! Crispy perfection and well-seasoned with a light spice. Generally pupu platters are average but a good way to get a taste of all the apps. When we tried Wusong's pupu platter, it was amazing! Some of the best Chinese flavors I've ever had. I've been trying to come here for the longest time! It always seems to be packed or have no availability. I came with some friends on a Tuesday evening at 8:30pm because that's when we could get a reservation! They have an extensive drink list with plenty of non-alcoholic adjustments. I got the dole-whip inspired nonalcoholic and my friend got the mango sticky rice colada, which was very tasty and really did taste like mango sticky rice. The food was overall great and reasonably priced! We shared everything. The coconut spareribs were a good mix of sweet and savory and were also very tender. The tom yum wings were slightly off in their flavor to me, but still good. The scallion pancake quesadilla was fun, albeit a bit simple. We also got the beef sambal ijo noodles which were pretty large and filling. I would love to come back! Our very first dinner in Boston was such a memorable experience! My friends and I were looking for a good spot, and we ended up in a restaurant that instantly made us feel like we were on vacation in Hawaii or the Bahamas. The vibe was tropical and fun, with a spacious layout that had both a first and second floor. We chose to sit upstairs, which gave us a nice view of the lively atmosphere. The restaurant was not only big but also had a little shop area where they sold mugs, tumblers, and other fun items, it added to the charm. Of course, the real highlight was the food. Vegetarian bao bun was a showstopper. We were both very impressed! Other highlights included the bok choy and gyoza. I would go back to the gyoza any day of the week. Service was great. I had the absolute best experience here for my birthday dinner! First of all, the drinks, they were honestly the star of the show. They all come in such cute glasses, well made, and delicious. As for food, we got the pupu platter for 2 and it was a ton of food, my favorite was the snap dragon shrimp. And you have to get the aloha slider and bao (I did the chicken katsu). They were well seasoned and flavorful, definitely need to go back just for these. As for the Dan Dan noodles, hard pass, wouldn't recommend, but everything else was phenomenal. Had a lovely experience at Wusong Road. The decorations and ambiance was so vibrant. The 1980s Mai tai was delicious and refreshing. We got appetizers to share. The chicken bao bun was very saucy but I felt like the chicken could have been juicer. The crab Rangoon had corn in it which was an interesting take that was a success. The waiter told us to dip it into the quesadilla dip which was a great idea. The quesadilla was savory. The tator tots were very crispy and a classic. Tiki Bars are in a league of their own; they're not really restaurants and they're not really bars. They exist in a weirdly awesome in between world. More importantly, this is the best damn tiki bar I've been too. The appetizers/ pupu platters are impeccable- no seriously, they're fun and flawless. But what sets this apart (aside from the amazing mugs that you can also buy) is they have well thought out mocktails in addition to the tiki drinks with alcohol. On top of all of it, the decor is unreal and over the top. The only drawback is that the location is so amazing... there can be quite a wait if you don't have reservations. Came here with a large group of 10 people to celebrate a birthday, and I'd recommend Wusong to anyone who wants a special experience for a celebration. It's a great place for a larger group, with many shareable items, platters, and vegetarian/vegan options. They also have an extensive drink menu, and very clearly mark the sweetness and strength of each drink, as well as which ones can be made non-alcoholic. Everything was amazing, we got two platters (one regular, one veggie) and we were able to try a little bit of everything. Surprisingly, LOVED the spring rolls which were very basic but so tasty. We got an array of smaller items too, some of which were repeat from the platters bc they were so good, including the sweet chili Brussels, fried rice, short rib ijo noodles, lemongrass wings, dumplings. Just as FYI, their dining menu is much more extensive than what they have online. We were able to bring our own cake, and they came out with the candles lit, and also provided a small gift from the restaurant (a mason jar). What an amazing labor of love! I'm always on the lookout for tiki bars whenever I travel and Wusong Road did not disappoint. Food, drinks, ambiance - everything is art. There are two floors, both are expertly decorated and on point. The food menu is more extensive and themed than most tiki bars. Cocktails were delicious- with well chosen glassware, garnish and swizzle. There was a good mix of classic tiki drinks and modern twists. We had reservations for a party of 4 and we were seated on time. There is a call your waiter feature and ours didn't work but our server was still attentive. I walked out with some new mugs and great memories. This was one of our highlights for our trip to Boston- I would certainly go back to try more of the menu. read more

I will start by saying that I liked a lot of things about this place. I would love to give it another chance. What was good: The vibe: the interior was fun, moody, but eclectic with cute decorations throughout. I wouldn't change a thing about the decor. The only confusing thing was that I gave my reservation at the front, the guy told me to go through a few curtains and then there was no one to help me to the table. I wasn't sure if I was just supposed to wander around and look for my friends... The drinks: I only had 1 zombie (they have a max of 2 per person because they are BOOZY!), and a sip of my friend's flamingo. I don't love super fruity cocktails, so the zombie was perfect for me. There were 6 of us and everyone liked their drinks. The glassware is to die for and they have it for purchase if you're so inclined. The food: It was generally small sharing plates. Some things were easier to share than others. Some of my favorites were the cauliflower, the dumplings, the cucumber salad, and the scallion pancake. I had the sweeter chicken wings, which were fine. I wish I had tried the spicy ones. The spring rolls and bao buns were hard to share, so I didn't even try. So! If the food, drinks, and ambiance was good - what happened? We had a 6 PM reservation, ordered quickly, and got our food just before 7. That was all fine. We ordered our 2nd and final round of drinks at 7 PM and asked for the check at that time while informing our waiter (I believe his name was Leo) that we had an 8 PM show to get to. The drinks came out after a while, but no check. At around 7:30 we asked for the check for a 2nd time. I then watched our waiter walk around to other tables and take various orders. By 7:50, I stood up, put on my coat and let them know we'd be walking out if we didn't get our check. Now, that's not my style, but we had to ask 3 separate times to pay. 3 times in 50 minutes. There is absolutely no reason for that. Did I mention this was a Tuesday...? Anyway - I want to give this place another chance, but after a nice meal, the service put us all in a bad mood and we literally had to run to our show. Fantastic tiki bar! Drinks were delicious and the prices were some of the cheapest I've ever seen at a tiki bar and quality was not compromised at all! Just as good as other great tikis bars we've been to. We had the zombies to start, they are strong and delicious. Also tried the Vic's Mai tai and the breath of the dragon, both awesome as well!
