    Grilled octopus (3/5)
    Allison J.

Grilled octopus (3/5): octopus was tender, but overall the dish was really sweet with the sweet potato and the sauce they poured on top. Zucchini flowers (3/5): tasted more sweet than savory to my surprise Guacamole with grasshoppers (2/5): guacamole was fine, grasshoppers were really salty and not crunchy at all Pulque (3/5): not what I expected - I think this is their take on pulque. It was also really strong. Coconut mocktail (4/5) - it was delicious and refreshing Ice cream (5/5) - more like sorbet, it was really good

Mid but the service was good. Doesn't taste like a Michelin star that's for sure. Price was decent especially for the Polanco area but there's better food for cheaper all over cdmx.

Amazing restaurant. The food was phenomenal..we loved the ribs, freshly made salsa, and shrimp ceviche. The cocktail was interesting and strong. Service was prompt. One of the best Mexican restaurant in our experience.

Seriously delicious. Great ambiance and the staff were super friendly and attentive. All the food was prepared fresh and the fresh salsa made table side was delicious. The foods comes out when ready and fast- so apps might come after entrees so my advice would be to order slow.

Amazing Oaxaca spot in Polanco! Way better than all the moles I've ever tried stateside!

This one is not to be missed! Tried conejos, patos and lots of Mole!!! The best part is the mole. It's way better than any other moles I've tried stateside.

Fantastic service, drinks, and food. They start you with salsa made table side which is delicious (be careful the spicy option IS spicy). The zucchini flowers were light and different. A bit sweet with crunch from the bread underneath. Unexpected and delicious. The tamale was super moist and delicious. Taquito was fantastic as well. Came here on another evening and the managers are just so accommodating. Oh and of course the cocktails are all fantastic as well. Relaxing place in a quiet part of a quiet neighborhood

Had a great meal at this location . The restaurant has various seating options ... upstairs , main level or outdoor seating. It has a quiet vibe modern decor and full bar. We opted to start with the suckling pig Taquitos which were prepared simply on small corn tortillas with guacamole with radish and chicarone finish. The other app we opted for was the special tamale with sweet corn huatalcoche. This was very very good the masa perfectly prepared and flavored . The restaurant also offered table salsa included in the meal with baked corn and blue corn tortillas. The salsa was delicious and you can choose your level of heat. All fresh prepared ingredients. For the meal because of my love of mole we opted for the duck and red mole tamales. These were so tasty and was served with extra mole which very savory. The waitstaff was highly responsive and accommodating. We had two cocktails which were reasonably priced . One margarita (no salt) which I prefer . The only issue was it was so sickening sweet. This place is a solid choice for Oaxacan Mexican cuisine. This might not be everyone's taste. The menu is on the smaller side but everything is done well. 2300.00 Mexican pesos all in with gratuity.

It's got to be about the food, experience and the service and this place is all that! Food is just so delicious and the service is so attentive. We ordered the pork tacos, beef tongue, beet salad and rib-eye. They were all phenomenal! The home made fresh salsa is next level and it's full of flavor! If you are in MC, do not miss this gem of a place! P.S the restaurant manager, Victor, is the best! Thank you for this incredible experience. We can not wait to be back!

Our first meal in Mexico City was here, and there were no regrets! Our favorite dish was the Suckling Pig Tacos. Super tender and flavorful! 10/10, would recommend: P.S. don't forget to order salsa, they make it in front of you. Amazing.

Delicious food. Tlayuda was amazing, highly recommended. Very filling, probably one of these should be enough for a meal. The mole was the best I ever had. Can't wait to be back! Tamarindo margarita was great.

In a Mexico City neighborhood (Polanco), Guzina Oaxaca was well recommended by our friends because the owner is Oaxacan and also owns a restaurant and hotel in Oaxaca. Chef Alejandro Ruíz serves authentic Oaxacan plates in his outpost in Mexico City and we were super elated to try his cooking. Twice a week, a truck makes the six-hour drive from the southern region to Mexico City to deliver dozens of ingredients. "We bring everything from hierba de conejo, chepiche, tlayudas, chocolate -- everything is made from Oaxacan ingredients," Mr. Ruíz said. "And more than just Oaxaca, from the regions of Oaxaca, where people still preserve traditional recipes." With that, we were treated to an amazing runway of dishes, never before experienced and more than umteenth times to be revisited. The warmth and hospitality at Guzina Oaxaca was insane--- where our waiters were seriously concerned that the kitchen did things right for us from the amazing moles to tlayudas (bitesized ), chapulines, (grasshoppers), greens, chiles and even the more pervasive art of making the salsa Oaxaqueña tableside and to taste: mild, spicy, Mexican spicy. We picked the Mexican spicy of course. I loved the people who work here. And dear God, thank you for introducing us to this glorious table of culinary tastes, traditions and history. Not once did I hope I would experience Oaxaca in Mexico City and Guzina, a surprise find, delivered one of the most intriguing and delicious meals I've ever had. At the end of the dine, as though you couldn't possibly eat another bite, a tray of handmade Oaxacan house made chocolate bites (dark, unrefined, raw & sexy hot) was offered with warm smiles on our way out--- sealing the memory of a glorious meal to be repeated often.

We had an excellent time at Guzina Oaxaca; we tried few dishes and a couple of cocktails. We initially wanted to try the mezcal cocktails recommended by friends; we tried a couple of "Gazolinazos" they were really good... we love the presentation in a ceramic 'Gas bucket' we also liked the fact that 1 cocktail was actually 2 given that the bucket is big enough fit 2 serves. The cocktails were very unique and special, something interesting to try. We then got inspired to try some of the food, the ordered three small dishes, we liked all of the but I have an special mention to the 'tacos de cochinita' the pork was really nice and perfectly cooked and the ceviche was really authentic as well (very different to the tradicional Peruvian ceviche). Both recommended. The service was "ok" nothing really special, the restaurant is a bit pricey but location and quality are in line with prices.

Homemade salsa, medium spice was perfect!

We've been eating street food for our entire trip so my boyfriend planned a surprise date for our last night- it was an even bigger surprise that we were going to eat Oaxacan food! He made reservations via their website ahead of time, so make sure to do that. One thing we were shocked about was the price of our meal- with two drinks, two entrees and an appetizer (homemade salsa was on the house), we think our meal in the states would've been at least $120, but probably more. Our meal was about $50, which added to the positive experience. We got two mezcalinis, tamarindo y jamaica, both were delicious. We ordered the ceviche de pescado, which was extremely fresh, flavored so well with fruit and lime juice. The mole negro con pechuga de guajolote could've been better if the turkey wasn't so dry. The mole and wild rice was combo was delicious! Our favorite dish of the night was the pulpo zarandeado, it was very large pieces of very tender octopus that were flavored extremely well, and complimented with Mexican rice and creamy avocado. It's been two days and I'm still thinking about the flavors of the dish. The waiters were very friendly, making up laugh all night and we left the restaurant with a little jelly candy- tasted like tamarind!

    Something amazing.

I would've thought Mexico City had great food in general, but that wasn't the case. Was there for four days, ate many meals out and this was the only one I really enjoyed. Too bad the place was so hot and stuffy. It was cooler outside than it was inside. All they needed to do was open some windows. Service was great though.

I come here for the Molé, as it is a guarantee that it's going to be good and this time was no different. We came on a Friday night, and I thought it would be packed, but there was not a soul in the restaurant. We were seated and brought tortilla chips and salsa, and ordered margaritas. The chips were terrible, basically small, uncut tortillas that have been put on the fire and were actually burned. I did get them to bring more regular tortilla chips but they weren't great either. I find it difficult to get good tortilla chips here in CDMX but hey. Things went straight up from there, the Margaritas were the best I had here in Mexico City, one of the best that I have EVER had! We ordered quesadillas for a started, they were perfect. For the main, I had my usual- Chicken Molé- and it was definitely up to their standard- and some of the best Molé I have ever had. Service was a bit hit or miss, and suddenly I looked up and the place was packed! While there are many Mexican restaurants in the Polanco area, this one is a guarantee for a great Molé!

The interior is pretty plain, with some Oaxacan art on the walls, apparently available for purchase. We were served tortilla chips with samples of 3 moles (Negro, Coloradito and I think the 3rd was Mancha Manteles) and 2 salsas. As my wife and I primarily went to Barro Negro to sample moles, it was great that we could taste them before committing to a full entree. They were all very good and very different. If you think all moles are 'a Mexican chocolate sauce,' then you'll be surprised at the different varieties. The salsas were all very good and on the spicy side. For entree, I ordered the Mole Coloradito and my wife got the Mole Negro. Both were served with a chicken leg/thigh quarter covered in a very generous pool of mole, along with a small amount of rice and beans. For me, it was the right amount of mole (a lot!) and rice and beans (a small portion of each). The Coloradito is a sweeter mole, very smooth and rich. It was excellent. The Negro is smoky, almost burnt tasting. I happened to know that the cooking process includes burning chile seeds and adding them to the mixture. To me, it was kind of ashy and not to my taste. My wife said that she really liked it and the flavor mellows as you eat more. At any rate, if you're familiar with Mole Poblano, which is also very dark, the Oaxacan black mole is a totally different dish. As it was late, we chose not to get any dessert. The service was attentive and quick, not surprising given that the restaurant we empty. We enjoyed our food very much and highly recommend Barro Negro for sampling Oaxacan moles.

Tuscan food is unusual for us and we don't eat many of the ingredients, so our selections were a bit limited. Happily, we both found dishes that we enjoyed. My husband had chicken breast, which came with a salad snd sweet potato puree. The salad dressing was so light and lemony. I want to come back just for that. My white fish was Mediterranean in style and cooked in a sauce of cherry tomato, artichokes, olives and capers. It was delicious, but enough for two or three meals, so I took some home.
