We had the sloped section of our driveway crumble and had to replace it. We contacted David at Western Concrete Designs. He came out and gave about 3 proper written quotes for different options and prices and we decided to go with this vendor. His communication was excellent throughout and he was always very responsive, even for every little question or concern I had. Scheduling was easy and the job took place on the day planned. They used steel reinforcements and left a nice, smooth brush finish on top. It looks to me like a really professional job. Now it's dry I'm very happy with the result. The old version had a hump in it and they made the new one better than the old one and got rid of the hump which is great. We were extremely pleased with the service provided by David and his team. From start to finish, he was prompt, responsive and thorough. We solicited a number of quotes for replacement of our root-damaged driveway, including from most of the 5 star companies on Yelp. I wasn't able to be home when David came by, but he was accommodating, provided a quick/thorough estimate via email and responded immediately to all my questions. He wasn't the cheapest quote, but also far from the most expensive. And when I dug into the details (psi, rebar strength, etc) it really wasn't close. He offered far better value for the money than others. The start date he gave us was about 5 weeks out, which was longer than I wanted, but I guess that's because they are busy. (seems like a good thing). They showed up promptly on the morning of the job and finished the same day (most other companies had quoted 2 or 3 days). He had a team of 6 and all the right equipment to demo, remove the roots, frame and pour. I would definitely recommend Western Concrete Designs and would hire David again without question. read more

I selected Dave from Western Concrete Designs because of his listening skills, knowledge, dependability, and attention to detail. He listened to my concerns about prior work by others and how I wanted to do it right this time. Now I have the backyard concrete that I truly wanted. The concrete was added in early December 2020 and fortunately the weather was dry during install and that week. It remained cool, cold, sometimes rainy, and cloudy for a couple of months after the install so the concrete took a while to cure and lighten. Once the sun started shining on it and the weather was in the 60s, the concreted lightened nicely and evenly. As you can see four months later, the concrete looks good and has an even color. The shape is perfect and attractive and symmetrical, and the control joints are straight. Dave and crew were on time, efficient, polite, professional, and work well as a team.
