I met with Juan showed him the scope of work and was very pleased when he said he could schedule the project for the end of the week. Right on time the crew showed up to commence the project. Very happy with everything about J Lopez Concrete. Great price, fantastic job, everything on time and very easy to work with. I was a little bit picky about the color of my concrete.. Didn't want added color but I didn't want it to be stark white either. I talked to him about this the night before the concrete was due to be poured. He arrived in the morning with a beautiful blend (no color added) that I am extremely happy with. I also didn't want lines all over so he told me which ones needed to be there and which ones I could eliminate without having a problem later on. Here is a photo. This is from the side, not the street. It looks even better from the street. They also demo'ed an old front walkway and put in a gorgeous new one. He enlarged my back/side yard walkway and it looks so good. He knows how to slant it for drainage and also put a conduit-like pipe or PVC under the driveway cement so I wouldn't have a problem if I needed to get to the other side of the driveway with wire, etc, later. He really knows what he's doing. He told me he'd begin work on a certain day, and he followed through. Also told me how long it would take to complete the project, and he was spot on with that as well. The guys work together very well and are fast and neat. Mr. Lopez is on the jobsite the whole time and works along with his guys. His price was extremely good. I had three estimates. His was very slightly more than the lowest guy, but the lowest guy didn't have insurance, didn't have a license, and couldn't speak enough English for me to communicate with him. Mr. Lopez speaks excellent English. The most expensive bid was literally twice as much as Mr. Lopez's bid. He's very agreeable and a pleasure to work with. Great communication. After renting a sod cutter and working all day to pull up the grass, we had no energy to rent a trailer to load and haul away all the grass. The person who came to give a quote was not even interested into the job as he was too busy with other jobs per the conversation we had. Let be more clear we had a big job to be done - 45 yards of concrete. The price provided was way higher than many other people charge around and interesting enough he was not willing to negotiate at all ... his attitude was so cocky which was a big NO to hire this company. We bought a "new to us" home with a beautiful paver patio in the backyard. The problem was there was no walkway from the patio to the front gate. We contacted 6 contractors through Yelp to get quotes for pavers, concrete, or a combo of the two. All six responded quickly. However, J Lopez and two other contractors were the only ones to come out within 48 hours. We wanted to add a 42' x 3' walkway. The paver people wanted 5k+, which was too steep for us. When Juan came out to measure he suggested a 4' wide walkway to remove what would have been a 1' gap between the house and the walkway. Juan's quote was so fair that we added a 4' x 12' pad for our trash cans and a small storage shed. The contractors that didn't come out and gave a quote via email just for the original walkway were all over the spectrum. One was less than half of J Lopez' quote and one was way over. The only other one that was close was the other concrete contractor that came out and took measurements. J Lopez was a little more expensive than that contractor (with similar references), but we awarded the contract to Juan since he came out first and could start in a week. Juan also suggested adding color to a section of the concrete for a smooth transition to the pavers. He and his helper finished the job in 7 hours. They worked hard, paid attention to detail, and cleaned up after. We couldn't be happier with the work done at a fair price. We'd recommend J Lopez for your concrete project. Even though ours was small compared to others, their pictures of their larger jobs were also a contributing factor for deciding on J Lopez. read more

Love my new driveway and sidewalks look great. They matched to the existing sidewalk and to the garage. Previously there was a bump up into the garage and now it's sloped and easy to roll right in. I didn't even ask for that so it was a nice surprise. I had a Sac city sidewalk repair notice. Most of the time if the notice is under $3K, can just go with the city because there is a minimum concrete pour for concrete jobs. I decided to replace my old driveway with the sidewalk repairs. J Lopez Concrete responded promptly to my inquiry, came out and then gave a quote. I worked with the city inspector and then J Lopez did the work in mostly a couple days in January 2022, one day to get out the old concrete and set up the forms and the other to pour and do all the concrete work. Deciding whom to hire for concrete work is not easy. We got three quotes and chose him based on his demonstrated knowledge, and his price was reasonable. Mr Lopez and his crew did a fantastic job with concrete in our backyard. We hired him to level a side yard (previously mulch and soil) to create a swim spa pad. He agreed to use 6 inches of concrete without charging me extra (4 inches is standard). He also made a concrete sitting area under the trees that was previously covered in lava rock and unusable. I was indecisive about the exact dimensions and he kindly, patiently let me revise this several times. I also widened an area of concrete path, and again he did not tack on additional charges. Mr Lopez went above and beyond in his customer service, always patient with revisions without trying to charge for every change. This is exceptional for any type of construction company.
