The lady at the front desk provided us with detailed information on the amenities and the shuttle. Hourly shuttle service is available with drop offs/pick ups at Windsong Lodge, Alaska SeaLife Center and Small Boat Harbor. The property is huge; it's great that they offer very convenient and quick service (golf carts) to/from your building to the main building. Room was clean. The sink was located outside the bathroom, close to the beds, which was a little weird. Nevertheless, the bathroom was clean and their toiletries are of high quality. Though the room did not have air conditioning, the room remained cool and comfortable even if it was summer. There was no complimentary breakfast. The restaurant Resurrection Roadhouse in the property offers great, delicious food. If you're leaving Seward and will use Park Connection, their buses will pick you up here which was very convenient. Overall, I had a great experience here.

Over the years, there have been changes, but the dining room for the most part remains the same. Big light and airy space, with massive picture windows looking out over Summit Lake, and it's a beautiful view. There's a cosy seating area right at the entrance with comfy couches to relax on. If you can get a window seat, it's well worth it. Swallows swerve by the window with mere inches to spare, catching insects on the wing, it's quite a sight while you wait for your food. It has a rustic, log cabin Alaskan feel, but the napkins are fabric, the glassware is nice, and servers are in uniform. The menu is hard backed so it feels sophisticated. I ordered coconut shrimp from the appetizers menu, which came with some kind of special dipping sauce, and I got some French fries on the side. Husband ordered the Garbage Grinder burger and a salad. The shrimp were ok, nothing special, the dipping sauce was based on orange marmalade - I didn't enjoy that at all. The fries were ok. His Garbage Grinder burger was insurmountable in the state it is presented, there is no way a normal person can fit that in their mouth. It must be 6/7 inches high. He had to remove some items to make it thin enough to get it in. Whilst I was eating, a couple were seated on the table behind us. I didn't think my chair was sticking out that far, but this woman, when being seated, kept whacking her chair into mine, forcing me to push my chair in really tightly, which I thought it was rude and inconsiderate, as a normal person would say "excuse me, could you pull your hair in a little" but she just kept battering my chair with hers until I moved. We were obviously in very close proximity, and I heard them say they were tourists, from out of state and had just got married, and would they comp the meal? This was prior to even ordering, and not because anything was wrong with the meal, just merely because they had a strong sense of rude entitlement. You got married, why are you entitled to a free dinner? It was irritating. But obviously not the fault of Summit Lake Lodge. Anyway the server promised to ask her manager. (Who refused to comp the meal, but did offer a discount) Anyway, it's a beautiful place, in a beautiful location, you're paying for an experience, not just the food - which is slightly above average. The service is impeccable, the views are stunning, and an influencer's dream. The menu used to have a lot more items on it, simpler things - I had my first ever Reuben here years ago and it was amazing, but you can't get it anymore. It seems to change annually. DISABLED / MOBILITY ISSUE TRAVELERS BEWARE!…read more This hotel does not care about you! I am on a 100 day tour around Alaska and Canada and have travelled through the south eastern islands / marine highway and Haines Junction / Tok by this point with no issue. 5 nights booking. Stated in booking I had mobility issues. Did not check until I arrived then they downgraded me to a room on the second floor via elevator. Would they come get me in an emergency? Would not have chosen this hotel if I couldn't get the advertised room. The given room only had a single handrail in the bathroom a distance from the toilet or sink. The shower was not step-free but mostly step-free. There was no rubber mat. The breakfast was very difficult to use with a walker and there was no assistance. On 3 occasions non disabled guests parked or blocked the disabled spots, raised with front desk, did nothing. On two of those occasions the lots were also full and I had to walk with my walker a significant distance in the rain. They had company vehicles blocking spots preventing me entering and others leaving and when asked if they could move temporarily I was told no. On third occurrence of disabled use/blocking informed them if I see it again I will be contacting police. Supervisor told me he was unaware of these issues which means they must have never raised or discussed them among themselves. He got sarcastic with me and told me I should call the police right now. I said it's your hotel I'm doing you a courtesy by telling you and not calling the police but I will the next time I see it. I left the hotel at this point as I simply don't know if I can park there or trust they would rescue me. DO NOT STAY HERE Attached are some photos showing these issues

When we arrived, the owner Dave ignored my Fiances texts for two days. Talking about how he couldn't talk because he was on a charter. When I finally got him on the phone, he claimed he never saw the packages he didn't receive them at all but in actuality had "rejected" them. I spoke directly with the postmaster, who remembered the exact boxes. They were clearly addressed to "Alaska Heavenly Lodge," and Dave had already received the delivery dates for more than half of them via text. This cost me an extra $3,000 in last-minute decorations.If you're planning a wedding here, know that charters appear to matter more to the owner than following through on promises made to wedding clients. Beautiful location, but unreliable when it counts.

The sleeping arrangement is perfect with all the beds upstairs and very nice blackout curtains. I was worried about the near-constant daylight but had no issues sleeping. The cabin is equipped with a wall heater that makes things surprisingly toasty, even at night (we came when lows were in the 40s). The mini kitchen works wonderfully for simple meals and breakfasts. The mini fridge is large enough to store several meals (4 dinners and 5 breakfasts) and has a small freezer compartment. The kitchen comes stocked with plastic utensils (metal available upon request), mugs, a coffee maker, coffee, tea (herbal and black), sweetener, and creamer which was a pleasant surprise. You can also request a kettle and/or toaster. The host/owner is super sweet and lovely to chat with. There's a wide selection of movies in the main house to use on the cabin's new TV and DVD player. There are also plenty of books available to borrow. We had a small issue with our water going out one night but she was able to reconnect us to cold water within 15 minutes and the hot was fixed overnight. The property uses well water so it was an issue with the pump which is totally understandable. The care and speed with which she handled the issue was impressive and made my experience outstanding. I would certainly stay here again and recommend it to others!

You must cook your own food, there are flattops, BBQ grills, or even a stick by the campfire. I was familiar with s'mores which they provide ingredients for but I was introduced to stick bread, its life changing! There are so many options to use you can make gourmet meals or something simple, they make it easy no matter what your cooking abilities will allow! Morning coffee and tea are waiting hot and fresh, they also provide pancake/waffle mix for you to add to your planned meal. They have a supply of chocolate chips for a sweet twist but if you want with Alaskan style, and if you're lucky enough to be staying during blueberry season the property is abundant with high bush blueberries! Send someone out on a blueberry walk and add them to your fresh waffles or pancakes. Alaskan summer brings out the midnight sun, literally, but for extra light the paths to all of the yurts are well lit which make late night snack time or early morning coffee pleasant. The yurts do not have bathrooms inside them, you must venture out to the shared facilities. If you want an adventure that is unique, fun, and will be a memorable part of your Alaska experience, the Nauti Otter is the best!
