Had a nice conversation with a young man who was clearing the plates . Still the view was pretty and there was a lower level to see the view alone

There is a shuttle service to take guests to and from the main lodge to their rooms. Even though it was the middle of summer, we wanted to be able to have a fire in the fireplace. There was plenty of cut wood for the stove and they even provided fire starter. There was a nice trail behind the main lodge building that goes down in a bit of a slope. Have no fear; they provide walking sticks you can borrow. There are two restaurants on site, and reservations are recommended. The gift shop in front of the lodge office has lots of souvenir items.

There was hair on the sheets which the house keeping took care of but the room had such a bad smell that we opened the window and let it air out yet didn't help! Disgusting place! There was hair on the shower curtain as well and the toilet smelled too. Very unclean. The rooms are very dated but also lack maintainence above all. The shower curtain has red mold or whatever it is and it's so gross that I didn't want to shower here. Fast forward I open the towel and there's hair in there too! How DISGUSTING!! Also the room is dusty!!! If you have dust allergy, good luck! The lamp has so much dust on it, the window pane was gross with black dust. The heater doesn't work properly either! Called front desk and all they said was sorry. Better to sleep in the car than be in this gross room breathing in the mold and smell. I wonder what it's doing to my health. This hotel needs to be shut down by the authorities unless they at least offer basic hygiene.

When we arrived, the owner Dave ignored my Fiances texts for two days. Talking about how he couldn't talk because he was on a charter. When I finally got him on the phone, he claimed he never saw the packages he didn't receive them at all but in actuality had "rejected" them. I spoke directly with the postmaster, who remembered the exact boxes. They were clearly addressed to "Alaska Heavenly Lodge," and Dave had already received the delivery dates for more than half of them via text. This cost me an extra $3,000 in last-minute decorations.If you're planning a wedding here, know that charters appear to matter more to the owner than following through on promises made to wedding clients. DISABLED / MOBILITY ISSUE TRAVELERS BEWARE!…read more This hotel does not care about you! I am on a 100 day tour around Alaska and Canada and have travelled through the south eastern islands / marine highway and Haines Junction / Tok by this point with no issue. 5 nights booking. Stated in booking I had mobility issues. Did not check until I arrived then they downgraded me to a room on the second floor via elevator. Would they come get me in an emergency? Would not have chosen this hotel if I couldn't get the advertised room. The given room only had a single handrail in the bathroom a distance from the toilet or sink. The shower was not step-free but mostly step-free. There was no rubber mat. The breakfast was very difficult to use with a walker and there was no assistance. On 3 occasions non disabled guests parked or blocked the disabled spots, raised with front desk, did nothing. On two of those occasions the lots were also full and I had to walk with my walker a significant distance in the rain. They had company vehicles blocking spots preventing me entering and others leaving and when asked if they could move temporarily I was told no. On third occurrence of disabled use/blocking informed them if I see it again I will be contacting police. Supervisor told me he was unaware of these issues which means they must have never raised or discussed them among themselves. He got sarcastic with me and told me I should call the police right now. I said it's your hotel I'm doing you a courtesy by telling you and not calling the police but I will the next time I see it. I left the hotel at this point as I simply don't know if I can park there or trust they would rescue me. DO NOT STAY HERE Attached are some photos showing these issues

It is an excellent get away spot that is just right to relax and enjoy being in Alaska. The cabin is heated with a modern bathroom and partial kitchen. By partial kitchen I mean: refrigerator, microwave, sink and coffee maker. There is a gas grill on the front porch however. The cabin sleeps four with two in the master bed and two in the small single beds in the loft. There is also plenty of room for others to stretch out on the floor. The owner, Maggie, is very friendly and helpful. Hope, AK is small but is a very clean and nice historical town. Check out the Seaview Cafe for a great beer selection, delicious food and an amazing view. Definitely add the Black Bear B&B and Hope, AK as a side trip as you tour the Kenai Peninsula.

Every night we were there a warm fire greeted us with snapping and popping welcoming us back from our Seward explorations! The kitchen and cooking area is always clean and welcoming. You must cook your own food, there are flattops, BBQ grills, or even a stick by the campfire. I was familiar with s'mores which they provide ingredients for but I was introduced to stick bread, its life changing! There are so many options to use you can make gourmet meals or something simple, they make it easy no matter what your cooking abilities will allow! Morning coffee and tea are waiting hot and fresh, they also provide pancake/waffle mix for you to add to your planned meal. They have a supply of chocolate chips for a sweet twist but if you want with Alaskan style, and if you're lucky enough to be staying during blueberry season the property is abundant with high bush blueberries! Send someone out on a blueberry walk and add them to your fresh waffles or pancakes. Alaskan summer brings out the midnight sun, literally, but for extra light the paths to all of the yurts are well lit which make late night snack time or early morning coffee pleasant. The yurts do not have bathrooms inside them, you must venture out to the shared facilities. If you want an adventure that is unique, fun, and will be a memorable part of your Alaska experience, the Nauti Otter is the best!

There's a kitchen and nice porch. It's about a half mile outside of town and tucked away in the woods. Hope is a great little town with fishing and hiking right here. Highly recommend! I'm a solo traveler so didn't need all this space, but I appreciate this comfort. Three downsides: the bathroom wasn't all that clean, I could hear every word and movement of the people in the next unit, and they leave their dog tied up with no bed or shelter. I didn't check the hot tub to see whether it was clean. The other people staying there werent being loud, the walls are just obviously not well insulated. That poor dog sat in the dirt for hours and hours on a short chain right outside my door. As a dog lover, this bothered me greatly.
