He stated that the $88 charge would cover next time & he's going to order a part that he thinks will work. We called 5/9/16, 5/12/16 and 5/13/16. Eventually he answered & said our part wasn't available and he's trying to get one. Meanwhile we couldn't get filtered water from our fridge. On 5/24/16, we called again. 5/29/16 he answered & said they sent him the wrong part. We told him that we already paid for the next service call and Blake said that wasn't true. He stated that the $88 was his hourly fee for "working" on our refrigerator and the $49 was the fee to come out and diagnose it. He refused to refund us and was getting rude and arrogant.

If we did not go with a new system and wait on the part, his quote included the part fee (even though it was covered by warranty) AND his personal handling fee of $500 for calling in the warranty request. While at the house, the workers with him were also overheard talking about him pulling permits but allowing someone else to do the work. We got leery and decided to get a second opinion. We went with someone else who told us the part was under warranty, they had it replaced in 2 days and needed 10 pounds less Freon than we were quote by the owner. This second option saved us thousands of dollars, even more if we had gone with a completely new system.

I contacted JARRS on a Monday about a GE washer that was having issues. He scheduled to come out…read moreto my residence Thursday Morning. One phone call explaining the problem and me texting him my address was all the communication we had. I had to be at work that morning but knew my wife would be home. He arrived on time, and diagnosed the issue my washer was having. My wife called me to let him speak to me about the washer, He did seem knowledgeable about the problem, and with what was wrong with the washer, the quote he gave me to repair it however was more than I paid for the washer new at Lowes just slightly over two years ago, he also told me that this model was a first generation of its model and that there was a chance that there could be other problems after he fixed this problem. So I felt like I needed to look at different options for a washer instead of investing a large sum of money in to one that may just break again. He could tell that I had sticker shock at the repair cost, he said that I could think on it and just pay his service call fee which was $45. We had not discussed this, but I expected it and had no problem paying it. He then told that if I was not going to use him right then, I would have to pay him an additional $65 for an 'Estimate Refusal Fee'. And that when I decided to use him that amount would come off the bill. We definitely did not speak about this, nor did I or my wife sign or agree to any thing of the sort, at this point I felt quite helpless, I was nowhere near my home, a repairman was in my house and had my wife's phone talking to me, telling me that I owe him $100 just for him to leave, when we had had no conversation at all about any amounts before he arrived. After going back and forth he said he would accept $75 instead of the original $100 figure. I told my wife to pay him just so he would leave. She did and he did reduce it down again to $65 after I had gotten off of the phone. I feel that JARRS is a very competent and knowledgeable repair man, however I would strongly suggest get all quotes, service work, or anything else that is told, such as warranty information in writing beforehand to cover yourself from unexpected fees that appear out of thin air and to watch carefully when dealing with them.
