It's easy to see why this is one of the most visited cave sites for tourism worldwide and the…read moremost-visited in Texas. It's a very well-developed cave to visit. By "developed", I mean that lighting and a path has been installed to make traversing it A LOT easier than when it was discovered. By "path", I mean smooth, textured, non-slip, paved sidewalks from one end of the tour to the other--complete with stainless steel handrails along almost every step of it. The effort it took to make a cave system this accessible is beyond commendable. At one end of one of the tours there is a long uphill slope to get out of the cavern, but you don't have to walk--they have a roller/conveyor belt that you stand on and ride to the top. The erosion-carved rocky "rooms" of the cave system defy description. They are up to 100 feet tall, 100 feet wide, and over 200 feet long, and are filled with otherworldly mineral formations that have been actively "growing" for millions of years. Photos don't do this justice. When you see it in person, it's just breathtaking. Adult-only tours would be an occasional welcome option, as a less-than-silent baby/toddler ruins the silence that the below-ground space allows. Parking is abundant, but it is not free. Even out in the spacious Texas Hill Country they decided that $10 per car was appropriate. I hate paying to park (anywhere), and in a rural setting like this, it just feels like such a shameless money-grab! I wish they'd just charge more for the tours and let us feel like parking is "free". More intensive, deeper tours for small groups that require higher effort into undeveloped parts of the caverns are offered on a limited basis. This sounds like something worth returning for.

It is the first cavern discovered I decided this time to check the hidden wonders tour for the newest cavern. This tour is definitely not accessible. Lots of stairs down and lots of wet spots. But it is highly recommended! The tour guide was friendly saying jokes and very informative. Someone in the group asked him to rephrase for a kid brain to absorb the information. It was hilarious and the kiddo in the group was engaged and so enthusiastic about the whole deal! The cave itself is so beautiful! We spent a good hour and a half inside At the end you get the light and sound show and the fun ride out on the B.A.T the only belt assisted transport conveyor in the world to get out of the cave. Even that is a challenge for older people. It was a real fun afternoon exploring the cavern

I came to Unbridled Spirit originally, because they offer learning on many different types of horses and I love "gaited" horses, which are seldom offered for lessons. With Stephanie McGlothlin as my instructor, I actually learned not just to be a more confident and competent rider, but how to actually "build a relationship" with my horse! What an incredible joy it is to build that bond! The confidence and skills that I have gained in a short time have taken place through lessons, but also, through the targeted clinics and workshops that focus on certain skills and approaches, such as "Liberty." I cannot recommend Stephanie and Unbridled Spirit more highly!

She takes time to explain everything even if you didn't understand the first or second time. Her passion for horseback riding is contagious. She offers tools to learn and implement when working with your horse rather than bandaids for crazy horse behavior. Her horses are patient and kind and I can't wait to bring back my whole family. I could keep going but don't take it from me. Go and see for yourself what you are lacking in your horse connection! You'll be glad you did.

In short, stay far away from this barn. I rode at Sixty for…read moreeight months and my daughter rode here for five. My lessons were going very well and Linda and I had many pleasant conversations. Linda mentioned several times how nice it was that we always paid early and I told her it was important to me to be reliable and support small businesses etc. Now for the issues. Before riding at Sixty my 6yr old daughter had ridden for over a year at a different with absolutely no issues. I only moved her to Sixty so we could save time riding on the same day/same barn etc. Three weeks into lessons with my daughter and Linda snapped off at me following what had appeared to be a nice lesson with my daughter. She shared some harsh criticism loudly and in front of my daughter and suggested We find a new barn. Confused, I replied that we aren't quitters, that this is just a hobby and I'm just looking for my kid to have fun and asked if we could try again. She agreed. That was the first major red flag. The next several lessons went very well for my daughter and myself (I ride in a group class) and Linda said that she wanted to move Bella to an hour long class (she had been just riding on a 30 minute private), and then wanted to move on to a group class for Bella the following month. My daughter was excited, I was proud, and everyone was happy. Bella had three or four 1 hour private lessons in which Linda said she was steadily improving and was happy with her progress. Last week Bella had her one hour lesson as usual, but that day she was tired because she had a long day at school, and kept lowering her hands/reins. Linda snapped at me again and told me that she thinks my daughter only cares about gymnastics, and maybe isn't cut out for riding. I asked her to please just sleep on it and she said she would. I am a very calm, kind person, but dealing with Linda's repeated temper tantrums was exhausting. So the next day I wake up to an email, the screenshots of which I will post below. In a fit of pettiness, Linda told us we were not welcome to return for our last lesson of the month and that she would refund us all the money that we had in credit but for us not to return to the barn. Not only was Linda's behavior extremely unprofessional in a very obvious sense, but she also chose not to give me any reason why she was denying me lessons when she and I have had absolutely no issues where my riding/repore with her is concerned. I spared my sweet six year old the details, got her signed up for a discovery lesson and we are excited to start riding at a new barn next month. There are a million horse barns, don't waste your time and money on the unprofessional ones.

The person we are taking lessons from, Shaina with her company Healing Through Broken Strides has been amazing. I realize she boards there and it is not her property, however, the property is very well maintained. I have never seen a broken board or anything out of line. By all appearances all the horses are very well fed and taken care of. None seem to be lacking for anything. There is a variety of horses I have seen here from Arabians to Gypsys, Quarter horses to Paints and Clydesdale. Chris the owner has given tours when I have been around and she is very thorough. She explains all the availability that is on her property, over 200 acres of trails as well for comfortable riding time with your horse. I love that as I usually drive my vehicle in I get greeted by a couple of the older horses who are there living out their best life...they are each over 25 from my understanding. Also to note, there in pens they have goats, every so often I have seen young cows, and I love going and chatting with the the donkeys. It is an amazing place! To note, I also see the hay rings always full, and I see every time I have been there feeding time where the boarding horses are being fed the feed they are prescribed. There is a riding area and 2 round pens and a porta-potty available as well. I reiterate this because of another review states that they didn't have hay, and this is absolutely never ever been the case!
