Large size makes it feel like a complete meal no need for extras or sides although they do look great! Food was made to order pretty quickly. A staff member was packing salads into plastic containers, then picked up a phone and a pen to write down an order, and afterwards continued handling the food with the same pair of gloves. Hubby and I were in the neighborhood and I was absolutely starving and could not fathom traveling home and still having to cook dinner before being able to eat. Yelp searched some spots in the area, Gyro Grill food looked great - we're in. It's a no frills restaurant with indoor/outdoor seating but mostly people ordering take out (from what I noticed in the two times I've been there). Cashier/cooks are speedy and get your order out our within 10 minutes. Hubby got their chicken gyro sandwich and I got the chicken souvlaki platter. Chicken gyro comes absolutely STACKED. The chicken souvlaki platter was kindaaaa dry but a squeeze of lemon and side of tzatziki quickly remedies that. First time I paid $2 extra for their grilled veggies, second time I got their mixed vegetables (baked) which I actually prefer and is included in the platter price. We also got their spinach pie. It's probably one of the best I've had (like better than the ones I've been getting at a Mediterranean bakery). Their phyllo dough is soooo flaky and there's no soggy bits. Definitely found my new fave spot and will be trying their other menu items soon! read more

One of my favorite takeout spots. I've really only ever ordered two dishes and had it delivered so I can only comment on that. The small Caesar salad with chicken gyro is great. The small size definitely is big enough for two meals and the chicken gyro is a great addition, which can be somewhat hard to find in the area. Dressing is great and I love that it comes with a pita, as that's also great to add to the salad. I've also gotten the falafel salad which are also well made. Their gyro comes in either chicken or lamb and beef. I tried both and they were both juicy and flavorful. The meat comes in either a sandwich or on a platter. If you choose the platter, you can get it with rice, grilled vegetables, or my recommendation, the lemon potatoes. Lemon potatoes are a very Greek side dish. I really enjoyed the spinach pie plate a lot! The spinach pie has just the right amount of the feta and the phyllo dough is so light and airy but has a lovely crisp too! When ordering the plate, you can choose a salad option (there are few, like garden, Caesar, etc), and a side like the lemon potatoes I chose, but they have veggies, rice, etc as options. I wish they gave a side of tzatziki for the spinach pie so you don't have to pay for a typical item that comes with a spinach pie, in my opinion but the tzatziki was so good, I'll even get the larger size next time. read more

As far as Greek "fast food" goes, this place is excellent! Really impressed with how delicious lunch was and how quick delivery arrived. My favorite Greek restaurant closed and it's been a struggle looking for a replacement. I decided to give Gyro Grill a try and I'm so happy I did! I got the grilled chicken plate with lemon potatoes and side of rice. The chicken was juicy and cooked really well. Here is my feedback Lamb to vegetables ratio: Really even, lots of lamb grilled with a slight burnt ( just the way I like it ) and with the white sauce and vegetables, it is almost a side salad over there. Really tasty as I took my time eating the gyro sandwich. Not gamey, a hint of smoke and yet, slightly dry. I don't really know how to rate gyros properly but I can tell you that if you have a fix, definitely worth it if you are in the area. Parking is pretty difficult since the store is located right on Woodhaven Boulevard. The gyros are huge and packed with a lot of meat and vegetables. The taste is pretty average though. If I didn't see it with my eyes, I wouldn't believe it. Do not recommend this establishment. I never write a review but I had to...... I placed an order for pick up on my way home from holiday shopping. I kindly received a call that some items were not available so I modified my order. When I arrived, I had to wait a few minutes while my gyros and fries were done. What I saw next left me flabbergasted.....a worker was cleaning the grill as they were soon closing and reached in with his gloved hand which was cleaning the grill with a soiled metal/aluminum pad and touched the fries to see if they were done (with the same gloved hand he was cleaning with). I quickly asked if I saw what I just saw and he remained speechless. The owner was on-site and I quickly brought it to his attention and he apologized; but if I was not there to witness this I would have never known. The icing on the cake is when I arrived home and noticed my order was incomplete. This is a clear reason why people get sick from eating out. Who knows if particles of the metal/ aluminum pad would've gotten attached the the food and one of my kids would've ingested it....god forbid.
