Awesome pizza and awesome staff I went in first time and they started treating me like family & the Pizza was great!

I was catching an early departure flight and decided to grab some food for a long day ahead. I bought a sandwich, a banana and a muffin for about $21, yeah expensive but they do offer good quality comparing to the other restaurants located inside the terminal. (Terminal 8). They do serve a lot of kosher items and also pastries, beverages and food to order. Like breakfast platters, sandwiches and salads. Although I found it a little expensive, I must admit the muffin was FANTASTIC and the sandwich was delicious. The pastries section is very expensive too. A cheesecake piece is overpriced about $8,50. Lots have change on the terminal and there aren't many choices available on the food court so my advice to you is arrive early and choose wisely.

I was working in the neighborhood while visiting this restaurant. The owner and the staff are really friendly and the food looks great and the price look within reasonable. Don't mind the single piece of salmon sushi since I mistake the name on the menu for something else but over the restaurant but the food is great and reasonable, next time I would order more sushi

Was craving sushi and decided to stop here.. Food: this place is unique. It's a Mediterranean restaurant BUT they serve pizza, Mediterranean food and NOW sushi! I know right?! I had the autumn roll (cooked sushi) and it was amazing! Fresh and the presentation was interesting. I love places that offer yummy sauces and both they served were yummy though the rolls barely needed it. Service: The owner greeted me when i walked in and asked what i was looking to order. I asked if they had sushi and he said sure. Took my order soon after i sat. Another waitress made sure my order had been taken. He gave recomendations on popular rolls. I took his advice on autumn roll and did not disappoint. The chef (i believe) came by and asked if i like my sushi. Everyone here is very friendly and attentive. When i was paying owner asked if it was my first time there when i said yes he granted me a free drink on the house. Very nice man! Price: $12 for signature rolls. Like all sushi the price varies but rolls all priced on par with other places. Ambiance: this feels like a pizza shop inside. Nothing fancy. It's a chill friendly environment but not many tables to sit at. I saw many ppl ordering for pick up or takeout. Overall i will be back to try other dishes! Great little spot for all types of food!

    Avocado Spinach Salad with salmon

This place really does try, but it has a bit of an identity crisis. Is it a pizza joint? Is it a Middle Eastern Restaurant? Is it a sushi spot? Somehow, it tries to be all three, which is a bit scattered and confusing. Service isn't great. Went for dinner; no utensils on the table, until I requested them myself. Also wasn't offered water, even after my food had come out. When I finally asked for water with ice, they brought me... GET THIS... a cup of water, alongside a bowl of ice with a spoon with it (?!). I mean, not a big deal, but just a bit too literal and kind of strange. Had to scoop individual ice cubes into my glass with a small spoon, which felt a bit silly. The vibe in the restaurant was weird. One of the staffers was hanging out with a table of what appeared to be his friends. Kind of felt like I was imposing on a dinner party that I hadn't been invited to. The food: I ordered the Avocado Spinach Salad, and added salmon. It was pretty decent, and the salmon was flavorful and tender. The salad itself was a nice combination of fresh vegetables, but their "house-made dressing" just felt like a ramekin of straight oil with no flavor. I asked for fresh lemon slices, so that helped. I doubt I would dine-in here again, but since I'm in the area often enough, I might stop by for takeout, especially since they're open a little later. If I'm looking for sushi, I'll forego this place and just order from one of the nearby Japanese restaurants that actually specializes in sushi. But I might grab a slice of pizza, or one of their Mediterranean offerings, as takeout. All in all this place was so-so, with lackluster service - but since my entree was decent, it gets 3 stars.

Didn't realize they sold pizza as well. When I stepped in for a pickup, I thought I was in the wrong restaurant. I ordered a "Salmon Lover" for lunch, and it came with a 6-piece salmon nigiri and 1 spicy salmon roll. It was a very large lunch portion, but it also cost $16, so I supposed it is worth what it cost. The fish was fresh. A few bites of the rice were hard. The spicy salmon roll wasn't really spicy.

A surprise stop that turned to be an excellent choice. First and foremost do not expect table cloth service but you can expect fresh ingredients and superb service from Eden. The pizza is thin crust and well topped. The falafel is one of the best we had in a long time, crispy on the outside and packed with flavor. Highly recommended.

    Halloumi and beets salad

This spot has a HUGE menu which is nice for variety and being kosher. Food is average though. I can comment on the salads: halloumi beef salad, spinach salad with avocado and salmon. They are very heavy on the base lettuce and spinach. Not much on the other fillers. The salad portion is huge but still won't fill you up due to this. The halloumi was a bit underwhelming just grilled no taste.

When you open your pizza box - your face should light up with delight .... Shocked about the raving reviews... $31.00 for a large pie and fries ... where's the sauce??? and the cheese looks like it's falling off the slice ... maybe the dough was rolled too thin? Please practice making better pies & fries. The fries were dry and practically inedible.... this is something that I can make perfect at home.. how can you mess up fries? Your prices should match the art of a perfect pizza. This was a 4/5 out of a 10. The upside is it arrived in 30 minutes.

    Ask the Community - Mezze

    Is all the food Halal?

Hey, the Restaraunt isn't officially halal (to my knowledge), just kosher. also they dont serve meat so there's no zabiha requirement. In short, they arent Certified" halal" but it's permissible to eat.

    Is there delivery?

Yes they deliver within the neighborhood. I don't believe they are part of any food delivery services right now, so you will need to call them and place your order.

Do you have an Israeli type hot sauce?

They have the best schug (Israeli hot sauce) both the green and red one.

Cuisine: 9 Service: 7…read moreDecor: 7 Value: 9 Overall: 9 Since my favorite Uzbek restaurant Taste of Samarkand closed due to a fire, this restaurant has become my go to for food from that region. There are many other options in the area, but I have always come enjoyed this place, and now I treasure it more than ever before. The decor is a bit loud and gaudy for me personally. I always preferred the interior design of Taste of Samarkand or Art of Grill, but I'm okay with Stix's decor because it's bright and clean. More importantly, I love the food at this place. Every time I come here, it's absolutely fantastic. They shine at grilling skewers, so I'll start with that. You really can't go wrong, but I would always get the lamb, lamb ribs, beef, baby chicken, chicken w/ bones, and sea bass. The lola kebab and the chicken lola kebab are not bad, but definitely better at Art of Grill. For the more adventurous, try the veal sweet bread, veal liver, and lamb fat. The only kebabs I am not a big fan of here are the quail. As for appetizers, you have to get their flavorful Uzbek mantu. However, crispy cheburek and flaky samsa are both excellent too. Herring Garnish is very tasty as well. Moving onto salads, I typically order the Humus and Babaganush for dipping with the Tandoori Bread. Korean Carrot is also a nice starter. If you are fond of soup, then I highly recommend Osh-Potche. Lastly, Asian Pilaf is a nice way to end the meal when dining at an Uzbek restaurant, though I think their version is average. When all is said and done, every meal is always amazing. The cost of the meal is always reasonable. And a good time is always had by all every time.

I suggest looking at the tablet. It took a while to decide what we wanted as there were so many sections. I chose the two soups, which were the dumpling langman soup and the shurpa soup. One tasted like chicken soup but with lamb instead. However, both were pretty small. For the table, we got the Manti soup dumplings, which had minced beef inside with soup inside too and beware it is hot. Also, we got the shepherds salad, but they don't have feta cheese, so we got it without that one ingredient. For example, the plov was mostly rice with only a few pieces of meat. There are other Uzbek restaurants in the neighborhood that are much more generous, like Sashlichnaya across the street.

The other kind of weird thing about this place is that they're open 9am-6:30pm weekdays and 9am-5:30pm weekends, but they don't serve any breakfast foods AFAIK. Do people eat knishes for breakfast? I'd love to see them open more like 11:30-9pm, so I could grab a snack or dinner late in the day. I was exuberant for the occasion of goodness to patronize, at long last. What gives you hope. There is an outdoor seating patio that occupies the entire sidewalk and half the street. The weather was gloomy cloudy, but not raining which enable my party of two to dine outdoors. Our table was uneven wobbling and shaking minimal the entire meal which reminisce "Lisa from Temecula" sketch from "Saturday Night Live," but not as violently aggressive shaking. Customer service is average attentive. Oddly, our appetizers arrived first and my wine did not. We had to request my wine which should be distributed first without request or reminder, thus the four stars. This restaurant was not entirely busy nor crowded for a Friday early afternoon. Nick's Bistro is a small cafe with a modern aesthetic appeal. I enjoy and prefer to be well-cultured expose to all international cuisines without judgment and an open mind for appreciation and global awareness. I am not knowledgeable with Greek cuisine, but I do know that Astoria is the locale for the go-to restaurants. I enter with a empty stomach. I exited fulfilled. Business cards and candy were available for grabs. Nick's Bistro is easily accessible via MTA NYC Transit buses Q53 SBS/ Q52 SBS and then Q54. Dramatic irony: this business name is also the name of my former love - not the same Nick, certainly not the same man. My foodie synopsis: Lamb gyro sandwich, $12.00 The meat was soft, but fresh and Tzatziki sauce was heavy. I do not consume lamb often, but once in a blue moon I would not exclude lamb to consume. The pita bread was the highlight which was fresh, soft and cooked with a good consistency without burning or harden. The gyro contain very pauacity minimal vegetables of lettuce, half cherry tomato and red onion. I always prefer red onion. I prefer regular tomato. This sandwich ate my fill to sustain hunger pangs the entire afternoon. Gyro sandwich is always my default Greek entrée of choice. Oddly, this entrée is price higher than listed on their website for $9.00. I do not believe their website is updated for price. Caesar salad, small $11.25 It was fresh and delightful filled with Parmesan shaved cheese. This portion is actually medium size. The croutons are thankfully not hard, but I never like croutons at all. I am always enamored with the lettuce. Ruffino, Chianti, 2019 red wine $12.00 This wine is one of my favorite reds, but it is difficult to find at most restaurants or cafés not widely offer. It was a joyous delight. It is exactly as is dry, very medium-bodied smooth finish Italian red wine from Tuscany, Italy, crafted from indigenous Sangiovese grape. It highlight bright cherry flavors and surely tasted. I was floating in very high spirits. Chicken rice soup, pint $6.95 Served luke warm but not piping hot with steam visibly emitted. It was also served with Oyster crackers. It was enjoyable and warm the heart. Greek Omelet, over easy egg whites $16.50 It was served with Greek feta cheese with vegetables yellow zucchini and pita chips. I highly despise Greek feta cheese and the same for Greek yogurt because both are extremely heavy, thick and too rich. I do not see any tomatoes. This entrée did appeared well prepared and well cooked but no runny yoke. My neighbor thoroughly enjoyed this entrée. Every time I think of omelet it bring flashbacks from past long-haul international flights major airlines of standard airplane food popularity for in-flight breakfast, often served with potatoes, sausage, or roasted vegetables. Nostalgia brew. Omelet? Flight attendant, I'll take the Continental with pastries, toast and fresh fruit please. Then followed by Bedtime Care Bear make me fall asleep again.
