I'm not sure why I haven't been here before as it's in the neighborhood and I feel like I'm constantly looking for Greek places who offer wraps. Was torn between two of them and was guided toward the Mediterranean wrap. This was fine, not particularly special. But did hit the spot with the ingredients. Nicely put together. But what was great was the service, as she was so nice on the phone and even nicer in person. Yesterday, we tried the aforementioned for the first time. Based on the photograph of the lamb souvlaki, The photo for this item, showed a souvlaki on its with fries and salad tucked into the pita. Too, we had to order a sauce for this sandwich,so we assumed it would be off to the side. I ordered the BBQ sauce and my wife the blue cheese sauce. When the items came, they were small with a couple of pieces of lamb, and glopped in sauce. In fact, my wife's sandwich wasn't even with blue sauce but with some strange substance, making the pita totally inedible. I don't expect to get a response that we had sent to the restaurant last night complaining about an ad which we feel is nothing more than a bait and switch. Finally stoped in to try this lil hidden Greek spot !!! I mean I'm always flying down yellow Stone & I never saw this spot but often smelled good food cooking from their exhaust .... Real nice & clean Lil restaurant with just enough seating & yes they have AC !!! It was very comfortable in there !!! I was greeted with a friendly smile and a warm welcoming.... I ordered the beef & lamb gyro plate with fresh cut fries with feta !!! Delish !!! The meat was moist n tender !!! The Lil Greek side salad was on point as well !!! Really enjoyed my meal .... I will definitely be back with my wife & daughter to explore their menu !!! This place really impressed me. It's very unassuming, I've walked by it a bunch of times but just recently decided to get delivery from here. The lamb souvlaki salad bowl was delicious, lamb was cooked perfectly and nice portion. Grape leaves, on point. Avongolemno was the best I've had anywhere. I absolutely love their split pea soup!!!!! However, the chicken souvlaki is small and feels more like chicken and pita bread. It's definitely lacking the greens, sauce, etc. Also, the pita bread always feels soggy and isn't like the souvlakis I'm used to from when I lived in Astoria. The food here is good. I have never physically eaten at the restaurant, but order take out at least once a week. I usually get a Greek salad, lamb kebab platter, pork souvlaki, soup, and rice pudding. Everything is fresh and flavored well. The portions are a good size and I usually order enough food to last me a few days. Update: I went into the restaurant to get take out and ordered a large Greek salad with gyro meat. When I got home I noticed they didn't put feta on the salad and forgot dressing and tzatziki sauce even though I asked if it was in the bag. The salad was just the right amount before our main dish. The platters were a good size and we were able to finish it without hurting! Very fresh food. We both got the chicken platters which came with salad and a side. The salad was soooo good! Served with balsamic vinegar and it was super freshhh (not that packaged crap). The chicken platter was very good MmmMmmm! The chicken was a tad hard but I'm guessing this is because they were preparing to close. The pita was so tasty and had the perfect texture. I got mine with French fries which tasted fresh and delicious. I wish more effort was put into the layout of the place. I love when restaurant reflect some sense of uniqueness, the ambiance isn't very welcoming but hey, the food was good and so was the service. I typically would get the souvlaki platter or I would just get two beef gyros. I do like the gyros a lot, and would say the beef is more moist than the pork. It is prepared nicely with good portion of onion and tomatoes. The roasted vegetables are flavorful and succulent. The salad is very generous in portion. This place opened up about 2/3 years already. Its Greek food done well and fast. The location is very convenient since I live across the street. I love the gyros that they have. The meat is really good not too dry and their tzatziki sauce is very tasty. I've ordered a lot of different things off the menu to try them out. My favorite are the beef/lamb gyros or the vegetable wrap. Their lemon potatoes are really tasty. They serve a lot of food and for a decent price. Village Grill gets an A+ for their chicken souvlaki and their gyro is one of the best I've had. The chicken souvlaki platter is absolutely perfect: tender and flavorful chicken, a huge Greek salad, a very tasty tzatziki sauce to complement the chicken, and the lemon potatoes (or grilled vegetables) come together to appease any appetite and taste. Service is fast and courteous, and the space is cute enough for a quick meal. We stick to delivery and haven't had any issues with wrong orders or timing. The only unfortunate thing about Village Grill is that the chicken souvlaki platter is so consistently good, I rarely venture deviate from my order. However, when I have tried other items, I've yet to encounter a miss, which is why we order from there at least once a week. The wing dings are perfectly crispy and tasty, and despite not being tossed in any sauce is delicious on their own. The chicken avgolemono and lentil soups are also excellent, with the avgolemono being superior The beef gyro sandwich is hands down the best I've tried in Forest Hills or anywhere; the portions are generous and the tastes stays consistently delicious from the first bite to the last. For dessert, we've tried the hazelnut chocolate mouse with cream puffs, and absolutely loved it. It's rich and decadent, but totally worth adding onto our order every now and then. My first time trying Village Grill was via delivery and it was a fantastic experience. The delivery was prompt and I had placed the order online through the Yelp online ordering service. It took about 20 minutes from the time I placed the order to the time the food arrived at my front door. The food was still steaming by the time I opened it and everything was packed neatly, even with a neat stash of napkins inside a separate brown paper bag. I had a Chicken Souvlaki and it was superb. The chicken was perfectly grilled and just the right amount of tenderness. Also, the side dish of baked potatoes and pita bread with hummus were delicious as well. I've ordered from them 3 times in the past week and am about to order again. That's how delicious they are. I am OBSESSED with their chicken avgolemono soup (chicken, lemon, orzo). It is fresh, delicious, and the perfect comfort food for cold weather. Their chicken souvlaki platter is large enough for two meals and comes with a side (I always get lemon potatoes), pita, and Greek salad that's large enough to be a meal on its own. I also love the chicken souvlaki sandwich. It's not as large as other places but the portion size is just right when accompanied by soup or an appetizer. This is a casual Greek restaurant in Forest Hills. I shared two platters with a friend of mine. We had the loukaniko platter with french fries and a combination platter with gyro and grilled chicken. The meat here is very good - well grilled. The portion of loukaniko was a little small, but the meat in the combination platter was adequate.
