Came here for dinner last night. Food was good as always, however, we asked for 3 sides of sauce & only got 2. The service was great & friendly & the place itself is quite small because it is only a walk up or drive thru. No inside seating. Cute little drive-thru gyro "shack" across from Park Place Mall. I got the #1 gyro (just the entree), seemed a little pricey at $10 for drive-thru. There was a good amount of meat, the bread was soft and tasty, there wasn't much veggies and the sauce was pretty watery. read more

The establishment lives up to its name. If you are looking for a place to eat and sit, you will be disappointed. There is a drive-through and a window to walk up and order food. Having a few outdoor tables would serve them well and make it more inviting. We ordered the chicken bacon ranch and the Philly gyro with Greek fries. All the food was tasty. I enjoyed the variety of different gyros that are available. I recommend giving them a try. read more

I want there to be half stars! This would be 3.5 but I'm going low because it wasn't amazing or terrible. I took no pictures because I ate in my car...this is a literal shack with no inside seating. They should turn the little lot next to it into picnic tables! Service was quick, the fries were hot and crispy. I got the chicken bacon ranch gyro (I know I know, but I always feel rushed at drive throughs and it was the first thing i saw!). Everything on the gyro was fresh, the bacon was crissssspy, which i love. The pita could have been warmed up, that's my only complaint besides no real seating. read more

Fast food gyros, you get what you pay for. Food quality isn't bad, but it's pretty bland. Tzatziki sauce was watered down and whatever cheese used on it also felt watery. I wish gyro meat was warmer, it was room temperature at best. Portion was large though so you'll feel full after just one pita. I'd rather go across the street to opa's for two more dollars you get better quality food. read more

Stopped at a new restaurant in town yesterday after the movies and were told 45-60 minutes to be seated. Went a different route and drove over to Gyro Shack where there were a couple of cars in line and no one at the walk up window so we parked and walked up. Wait to be seated? Nope! Are there seats? Nope! Can you place your order and be heading back home all within 10 minutes? Yep! My guy ordered the original gyro with extra meat and I got the regular original but with tzatziki on the side since I don't like a lot of sauce. Also got an order of fries. Everything was delicious and hot. I love that their meat is on a spit which is really the only way it should be done but c'mon...we've all seen places where they DON'T do that. My only complaint is that the fries are served in a drink cup with a lid on it which takes away any crispiness of the fries by the time you get home. I was very excited to try Gyro Shack on its grand opening today and it did not disappoint. This is a takeout-only spot, so you can either drive thru or order at the walk-up window. I had the deluxe gyro (meat, lettuce, tomato, tzatziki and feta) and the Greek fries, which are crinkle fries topped with seasoning and feta. Both were flavorful and well-prepared. The staff was friendly and excited to receive feedback about the food. I'll definitely be back to try some of the other gyro options, which can all be prepared in salad form. I'm a big gyro fan and was looking forward to trying the Gyros here. I got the deluxe gyro with lettuce, tomato and feta. It would have been a really great gyro except the meat was cold and the pita was obviously not toasted or warmed on a hot griddle. Great flavors, nice sized portions, and amazing fries. They need to do better on quality control and prep. I'll give them another chance. read more

It's a drive thru only so play your favorite tunes and drive out to this hidden gem! Quick fast service and to the point. The blue and white give you the classic Greek vibe however this is definitely a spin off of into an American modernized classic. The meat tastes more like sausage but very flavorful. I paired it with the bacon and avocado and it felt like a marriage between America and Greece. read more

Kind of a funny little setup- either walk up to a window or go through the drive through. I walked up. The woman that took my order was a delight- smart, funny, helpful, and efficient. I got two Original gyros and an order of regular fries, and took them home for lunch. I ate a couple of fries on the drive home- they couldn't have been out of the fryer for more than a minute when she gave me the bag, they were absolutely perfect- crinkle cut fries that were wonderful. I don't know if I've ever had such tasty fries before. The gyros were just what we were looking for, too. The pita was so fresh and the meat and tzatziki were outstanding. Years ago, a fast-food takeout Mediterranean restaurant was inside the Park Place Mall. Unfortunately, it's no longer at that location, and we needed something similar on this side of town. So I was excited to grab a gyro at the soft opening of Gyro Shack across the street from the mall. I was surprised it was relatively quiet, and I got in and out of the drive-thru in 7-8 minutes with only three cars ahead of me. The drive-thru is a bit narrow, and their parking lot is small, so be careful driving in and out. There is a little window where customers can order their takeout. I didn't see anywhere you could sit to eat. So it reminds me of the Salad-and-Go arrangement. I tried their original gyro and one upgraded to a salad. It tasted fine, but nothing stood out. The lamb meat and tzatziki sauce were pretty mild tasting. Although it was a soft opening, I was disappointed they had no baklava despite showing it on their menu. The price for the gyro at $10 seemed a tad bit high for the size. Maybe if there was a little bit more meat in the gyro, it would be worth the price. However, I will return and order this again because of the convenience and location. read more

I went through the drive-through on my way to work. I needed something to eat at that time and something to take to work. The service was absolutely excellent. The woman that took my order packed everything that was for later in separate containers so it would not get soggy. I really appreciate the friendly customer service in a day and age when it's very hard to find. I have had better Greek food in the Mediterranean, but we not making comparison to that. That would be foolish. In Tucson it's hard to find Greek food that's yummy. It satisfied my craving and I will be coming back. read more

This is my second time coming here. I ordered the #1 Original Gyro combo w/greek salad. The first time I came, I ordered the same thing except I asked for fries instead of salad. There was a 32 oz drink included, I got Dr. Pepper. For dessert, I ordered a half-order of Baklava. The lady who took my order, Rosamelia, was patient, professional, and kind. My food arrived at a short 5-7 min wait. As was with the first, my food was delicious! I'm impressed with how much food is given! The service was quick... the help was friendly... but I have no idea what kind of meat was in my gyro!! It did not seem like "real" meat! It seemed like a combination of meat that had been "pressed". Similar to how hot dogs are made except it's suppose to be beef... yuk!! I tried to google what kind of meat is in the Gyro Shack Original Gyro. I would never order this again and now I'm hesitant to order the chicken. Is it going to be "real" chicken? Plus there was hardly any tomatoes or onion. Pita sandwiches tasted just okay, nothing special, but skimpy with the amount of gyros meat and small falafel balls. For a much better gyros pita sandwich I recommend Pappoule's Greek Restaurant on the NW side of town (the best in Tucson, very generous portions and delicious), or my second choices are Opa's Best or Zayna's Mediterranean. read more

I went to visit my daughter in Tucson. We decided on having Greek food. We were staying at a hotel for the night nearby. We choose to go here and place a carry out order. As soon as we walked in we were greeted at the counter. The gentleman took our order in a timely manner. The restaurant atmosphere was very welcoming. We were able to sit on comfortable seats while waiting for our order to be prepared. We didn't have a long wait even though they were busy with several dining in customers as well. Call this place the Gyro sham instead. Went here for the first time tonight and a horrible experience indeed. Ordered a normal gyro sandwich and the pita bread was completely stale. Hard as a rock on the edges. The woman who serviced me in the drive thru just shoved the bag in my window and closed the window. No "have a great night" or anything. The food was not bad it had very good gyro meat in it. The problem is the system it was taking them about 10 minutes per car which can be very long if they're even a few cars in front of you in line. Also they've had a problem with homeless people begging while cars are in line. read more
