First time here and I was really impressed. My husband and I ordered the Special Gyro with lamb, pork belly, and beef steak along with dolmades and baklava. He got a side of French fries and I got the Greek fries. Every part of the meal tasted fresh and thoughtfully prepared, and it was clear from the first bite that they take pride in what they make. The baklava had the perfect mix of honey, crunch, and sweetness. It is made in house and has a fresh, rich flavor that stands out right away. The dolmades were just as good. I could eat them every day. It is rare to find a place that still makes their appetizers, sauces, desserts, and other items in house, and it really adds to the charm. The gentleman who took our order was warm and friendly, which made the visit even better. I usually go for lamb skewers when I visit Greek restaurants, but this time I wanted to try their gyro. The pita was cooked to perfection. It was soft and had that fresh dough taste that only comes from bread made in house. The meat was juicy and full of flavor. Stopped in for lunch to-go. Restaurant is very small. I ordered. Beef gyro. Person taking my order was kind and attentive. Offered me a glass of water while I waited. Didn't have to wait long as the food came out rather quickly. Portion was generous but a little on the pricey side for a gyro. Nevertheless, I enjoyed it. This place is consistently good. The food sometimes takes a little while to come out, but it looks like the place is run by the owner and maybe one other person. I love the Village salad- fresh veggies (tomatoes, bell peppers, red onion, olives, cucumber, pepperoni) with olive oil, seasonings, and feta. It comes with fresh warm pita on the side. My partner usually gets a gyro pita, and always enjoys the sandwich. We have tried the hummus and Greek fries which are good as well. My only downside to this restaurant are the lack of veggie protein options (missing falafel) and that the prices I feel are slightly high. We got an extra pita since 4 people were sharing. The space is small with about 8 tables inside and a couple outside. The service is wonderful but the team usually consists of one person at the front and one cook who helps serve and take orders. We were enthused during our first visit here. The food was above average for the type in Tucson, and the people were nice enough. But the shine dimmed appreciably when we came to the reckoning we'd just paid more than $50 with tip to share middling-sized portions of one entree and one appetizer, and with just tap water to drink. First time visiting based on family recommendation. Food was just ok. Had the gyro plate and the spanakopita as an appetizer. The spanakopita was my first time trying it, not a fan. It was fine I just didn't care for it. Gyro plate was also fine but none of it was memorable. Service was good considering one guy was covering the whole room. Ambiance was just a typical greek motif and nothing was different than what you'd expect. Nothing in this experience would drive me to come back. Hence the 3 star review. Yelp on! We decided to duck in to Santorini Greek Cafe for dinner. The owner/chef greeted us as soon as we walked in. We choose a table in the middle of the dining room. They also have 2 booth with murals of Greece and half bench/table seating. We ordered lemonade, Greek coffee and the Greek hummus to start. The hummus comes with cucumbers and pita for dipping and is loaded the cucumbers, red onion, tomatoes and capers. It was so silky and delicious! Great balanced flavors. For entrees we ordered the chicken gyro plate with Greek fries and the lamb gyro plate with extra salad. The lamb was tender and delicious the salad had an abundance of cucumbers, kalamata olives, tomato, and onions. It was dressed with good olive oil and lemon. The perfect accompaniment for the rich lamb. My sister ordered the chicken gyro plate. She said the chicken was some of the best seasoned she'd ever had and I agree. It was flavorful but not overpowering. Those fries were glorious with feta cheese, olive oil and oregano. They are very snackable and such a great pairing with the chicken. In addition to the wonderful food, I really enjoyed the family feel of the place. It was cozy but not uncomfortably so and the owner took great care of all of the guests. What a delicious spot in such a convenient location! My sister came across this gem while our dad was at banner hospital. She picked up a gyro bowl with lamb and beef for both of them. I came with her the next day- she loved her meal so much she ordered it again 10/10. I opted for a chicken gyro plate 10/10 and absolutely loved it! Everything is fresh and made to order. Only reason I stopped going here is because they don't really serve the type of food I prefer, so no I will not go back. However, I still recommend this place for others. It is very clean, great service, and all the take-out orders I got were perfectly organized. The prices were okay too. I'm on the hunt for good fresh Greek food and this place hit the spot! Although this is smaller and more of a hole in the wall compared to Opa! I prefer this one. The food is prepared as it is ordered and always tastes fresh. The service has always been kind and prompt even when there is only one person there, doing all the jobs. I would definitely recommend the Greek hummus, the chicken gyro plate, and the stuffed dolmas. Very casual Greek dining. You order and pay at the counter. I enjoyed the Greek beer, and hummus was delicious. The pita bread came out nice and hot. My chicken and rice soup had a piece of cartilage in it that turned off from finishing it. My friend and I both ordered the soup and salad, and shared the hummus appetizer. I wished that I had more salad, and more than 1 olive, and a bit more dressing. Our waitress didn't know how to pronounce the chicken and rice soup, and wasn't very attentive. I have been eating here for several months, since I first discovered it. The other day I stopped to pick up food to go. I was greeted by a woman who made my visit there another wonderful time. Because my dad had recently died and he loved lamb I got the lamb shank special. I was not disappointed. And i know my dad would have loved it. But it wasn't just the food. She made me feel like someone special as we talked about our families and so much more. Santorini is my new favorite restaurant for Greek food in Tucson! I've gotten takeout from there several times now, and can confirm that every order has been delicious and made with care! Over the course of various orders, I've now gotten the Dolmades (stuffed grape leaves), the Fried Calamari, the Greek Salad, the Village Salad, the Spanakopita, and the Chicken Gyro. It's all been wonderful! The calamari is a definite treat: fried perfectly and still steaming hot even when I got it home. I'm also delighted that Santorini has the Village Salad, which keeps all the best parts of a Greek salad but ditches the lettuce and increases the feta cheese. I highly recommend it! It's simple, and so perfect for summer. The Chicken Gyro is also excellent. It was an ample serving of delicious grilled chicken with pita, tzatziki, and your choice of side (both the rice and the potatoes are really good!). In addition to the food being great, the staff does a very good job working with food allergies. Twice now, they've helped my partner work around a dairy allergy, and alerted him to the presence of dairy in places where he wouldn't have thought to inquire about it. It was delicious - perfect amount of melt, served with really good pita. For my meal I had the chicken skewer, with Greek fries.
