    Gyro Sandwich
    Yelena R.

The food is truly delicious but it's lacking in cleanliness of tables and chairs. It has an open kitchen so you can see your food prepared. I ordered a gyro sandwich with fries and a baklava. Potatoes are perfectly cooked and seasoned to order. The sandwich had enough lamb and veggies. Baklava was delicious

    Village salad

This place is consistently good. The food sometimes takes a little while to come out, but it looks like the place is run by the owner and maybe one other person. I love the Village salad- fresh veggies (tomatoes, bell peppers, red onion, olives, cucumber, pepperoni) with olive oil, seasonings, and feta. It comes with fresh warm pita on the side. My partner usually gets a gyro pita, and always enjoys the sandwich. We have tried the hummus and Greek fries which are good as well. My only downside to this restaurant are the lack of veggie protein options (missing falafel) and that the prices I feel are slightly high. Other than that, this place is a good option for Greek food in the area.

    Greek Hummus Appetizer

The food is absolutely delicious. We started with the Greek Hummus appetizer which is creamy and delicious, topped with fresh cucumbers, tomatoes, red onions and feta. We got an extra pita since 4 people were sharing. The space is small with about 8 tables inside and a couple outside. The service is wonderful but the team usually consists of one person at the front and one cook who helps serve and take orders. Compared to other Greek restaurants in town, we prefer Santorini the best!

Fresh food full of flavor! Fun, responsive servers and kitchen staff. The chicken was succulent, savory, tender and juicy. Authentic Greek food all cooked on site and served in generous portions at a reasonable price. Small, colorful, sun-filled dining room with decorations evoking the charm and rich culture of Santorini.

    Greek coffee, extra sweet

We decided to duck in to Santorini Greek Cafe for dinner. The owner/chef greeted us as soon as we walked in. We choose a table in the middle of the dining room. They also have 2 booth with murals of Greece and half bench/table seating. We ordered lemonade, Greek coffee and the Greek hummus to start. The hummus comes with cucumbers and pita for dipping and is loaded the cucumbers, red onion, tomatoes and capers. It was so silky and delicious! Great balanced flavors. For entrees we ordered the chicken gyro plate with Greek fries and the lamb gyro plate with extra salad. The lamb was tender and delicious the salad had an abundance of cucumbers, kalamata olives, tomato, and onions. It was dressed with good olive oil and lemon. The perfect accompaniment for the rich lamb. My sister ordered the chicken gyro plate. She said the chicken was some of the best seasoned she'd ever had and I agree. It was flavorful but not overpowering. Those fries were glorious with feta cheese, olive oil and oregano. They are very snackable and such a great pairing with the chicken. In addition to the wonderful food, I really enjoyed the family feel of the place. It was cozy but not uncomfortably so and the owner took great care of all of the guests. Definitely adding this to the rotation!

We arrived at 12:30 and they were slammed. No available parking, so my daughter dropped me off (so sweet) and parked a couple doors down. The dining room was packed and noisy. The young man who greeted us said he'd have a table in ten minutes or we could sit in the air conditioned patio area. That's what we did. The patio was quiet and a large fan blowing over a trough of ice kept us cool and comfortable. We started with an appetizer of hummus, tzatziki, pita, and dolmades, with sliced cucumbers and tomatoes. The tzatziki was the best I've had. The sliced veggies were great so my celiac daughter could scoop the yummy spreads instead of pita. As lamb lovers, we ordered the lamb kabob plate and the lamb clay pot. The plate came with scrumptious rice, Greek salad, and sliced veg. The clay pot was filled with diced potatoes, tomatoes, and tender cubes of lamb, beautifully seasoned. So much delicious food! Our waiter offered dessert, but we were stuffed and settled for to-go boxes. I had an excellent lunch for two more days! As a big fan of Mediterranean food, I don't know how I could have missed Istanbul, but my first time surely won't be my last.

This place specializes in Turkish/Mediterranean food. There have various appetizers, pita sandwiches, entrees and dessert. I got the diner sandwich, which is pictured in the photo, pieces of beef & lamb mixed kebab sliced thinly served in a pita with red onion, lettuce, tomatoes and tzatziki sauce. It comes with your choice of Greek salad or fries. Their fries at crispy, not soggy. The meat was well seasoned and the spices the meat was seasoned with come through! It you want slices typical to kebabs or gyro sandwiches, get the Istanbul pita, which was what my husband got. Lots of seating for small and big groups! Service was decent, but not sure how it is on a really busy night. We came at lunch time, so about 8-9 tables and our server didn't check in on us much after we got our meal, which was out pretty quick after we ordered. We did have to wait and stop her to ask for more napkins and water but other than that, friendly staff. Would recommend checking this place out!

We ordered drinks and studied the menu some and put in orders for the Aspasia and hummus plates along with the big (we had no idea it was that big) family mix grill and chicken and beef shawarma. We received the Aspasia plate first and it was delicious! The kibbeh was so good but so was everything else. The mixed grill plate was awesome. The hummus and baba ghanoush were incredible. I don't think I can get enough superlatives into this write up to fully convey not only how good this food is but also how authentic it all was. Of course our server timed all the deliveries to our table so that everything came out correctly and at the right time. The inside of the restaurant is actually a big room, sparsely decorated with simple tables and chairs but again it added to the charm and authenticity of the cafes from the Middle East region. There is no other place in Tucson like this and I highly recommend this to you to go and try. There is plenty here to try and enjoy.
