Not sure I'll be back. Especially not for sit down dining. I don't know what's changed but despite having enjoyed it a few years ago, we found it lacking, perhaps even sad? The service felt as though the person did not want to be there. We tried being very friendly, but there was an air of real unhappiness. Couldn't suss out why. There were 3 tables occupied inside & the place appeared clean but the food (lamb kebabs) felt frozen & reheated which made them tough. Presentation was fine. Turkish coffee was good. We ate here for a mid-afternoon meal, and there were just a few other people dining at that time. We sat ourselves, choosing a booth by a window. They also had plenty of outdoor seating. Our server came by with menus and took our drink orders. We chose the zaatar and cheese rolls as an appetizer. I had the gyro salad and my husband had the gyro platter. The cheese rolls came out with the entrees, and we didn't fall in love with them. The gyro meat on both the platter and the salad was tasty. Extremely disappointing interaction today. If I could give 0 starts I would. Definitely one to remember. I placed an online pickup order tonight, an entire and an appetizer. Nothing crazy. We showed up early so I decided to wait in the parking lot, where, two of the employees were very "busy" doing donuts in the shared parking lot with the rest of the plaza. Almost hitting our car, that was cleary tuned on and occupied. I had my headlights on and the car running. The tire screeching caught the attention of the parking lot security. I watched another employee go up and talk to the security. The two individuals in the car proceeded to park the car they were doing donuts in, and walk into the restaurant. Our order was supposed to be completed. A absolute lack of customer service, first of all. Let us know we would have to wait for our order, didn't give us a time frame. That's also when I noticed the two individuals that were outside in the car that was doing donuts in the kitchen. Everyone was packing orders, attending to the rest of the guests, so that made it very clear that they work there. Why else would you be back in the kitchen? Authorized to do so? Anyway, when we asked about canceling the order the first time, they let us know it would be a 5-7 minute wait. Which is fine, they were busy, it's understood. What was not understood is why their employees were outside putting everyone in danger by doing donuts in a busy parking lot. 20 minutes went by, still no food, we asked one of the employees that was outside in the reckless car to please cancel our order, and that we wanted a refund, since we didn't get any food. He proceeded to tell me he couldn't do that, and that he didn't work there. We spoke to the employee that went up to the parking lot security about canceling our order, he also proceeded to say they didn't work there, and couldn't refund me. I couldn't understand a thing but it was entertaining. My meal arrived and just the smell alone was fantastic. I was about to dig in when I remembered to take a picture. As you can see, the serving was a nice size. The pita was cold. That surprised me. I guess that's the way to eat it here. I took my first bite and OMG. The flavor was like the smell, fantastic. All the different seasonings just complimented the whole meal. The rice was very good and added to the whole dish. I was so full. So this is my first time eating Lebanese food and I really liked it. Ordered the Baba Ghanoush (Roasted eggplant with tahina lemon and garlic) but asked for more vegetables and no pita bread. Liked their fresh tomatoes and their cucumber was pretty good but the pickles were too chewy/salty whereas I'd rather have them crunchy. The dips they have are all delicious. Decent serving size with enough accompanying bread/veg. The price is a bit higher than normal, still reasonable though! Only thing off-putting was their bathroom wasn't nearly as clean as I'd like and their drive thru window customers were not saying very nice things which made dining in a tad unsettling in the beginning. I have tried Med Cuisine several times since their early days at Park Place Mall and followed them to their standalone restaurant. I wanted to support them, but something is always off when I go there. During my last visit, it seemed like no one was working in the restaurant. I stood at the entrance, waiting for someone to take my takeout order. Finally, one employee emerged from the back and told me I would be assisted in a bit. It took me 15 minutes to place my order, and the restaurant was not busy. I ordered the gyro; the meat portions were alright, but the gyro did not stand out. They bring a basket of pita chips and tzatziki complementary as a starter. It didn't take long for our food to arrive. My gyro wrap was huge and I enjoyed the gyro meat. I could only eat about half of it. The wrap is different than I'm used to, not traditional pita bread, and it was a little dry. My friend said the lamb kebab was dry. The service was good, however it took them several tries to get our checks right, as we wanted separate checks. There's definitely better Mediterranean food around town, but this wasn't bad. Last night we enjoyed a delightful dinner at this wonderful Tucson treasure! We stopped at Safeway to purchase a few items and had planned to go to a Mexican restaurant for dinner. As we walked to our vehicle we noticed the welcoming lights at Med Cuisine in the same parking lot and decided to try it out; we are happy we did!! We were greeted immediately and seated by our wonderful waiter, Sam. Sam brought us an appetizer plate of cucumbers, pita bread and chips with hummus and tzatziki sauce. We ordered the lamb platter and chicken shawarma platter. Both were delicious and plentiful (we have enough for another delicious dinner tonight.). The flavors in the rice and meats were perfectly balanced. The side sauces of garlic with the chicken and tzatziki with the lamb were also delicious. The warm pita bread made the meal perfect! The food was great and had enough leftovers for another dinner the following night. Each meal was about $15. Quick service and the owner and her son were very pleasant and attentive. The restaurant has a full bar and an outdoor sitting area but this being Tucson, no one was outside even on Saturday night. If this restaurant was in the Midwest like NY or Chicago, it would have been very busy. For someone who has been to many Michelin-starred restaurants, I think this is a good restaurant that probably not many people in this town know about. My husband absolutely loved this place! He got their mixed plate and it was a ton of food. I was very impressed with their kids meal. It had a lot of variety and my 3 year old loved it. I'm still on the hunt for really great Arabic food here in Tucson. Coming from a city with a large Arab population, it's been somewhat disappointing with the options here. I was hopeful to try Med Cuisine based on the reviews. The restaurant is decorated nicely and wasn't very busy when we arrived. We ordered the Mezze Mix and the lamb kafta kebab wrap. The timing of the food was pretty slow and it seemed to take a while for our appetizer to arrive. The Mezze included hummus, baba ghanoush, kibbe, grape leaves, samosa, and cheese roll. The dips were pretty good as expected. I wasn't a fan of the grape leaves as I prefer them warm over cold. The kibbe was okay, not the best I've had. It needed some more spices and salt. The samosa almost wanted to be sambousek but was made with seemed like a wonton wrapper. It tasted fine. The cheese roll also tasted fine but my dining companion wasn't a fan. Our kefta kebabs were pretty good. The meat was seasoned well, the pita wrap was a little crispy, and I enjoyed the tahini dipping sauce that came with it. We passed on trying any dessert. The meal felt a little overpriced for what we received. I would be interested in coming back to try the gyro wrap but would definitely pass on the mezze platter again. read more

I use chicken shawarma as a basis of comparison between Middle Eastern and/or Mediterranean restaurants, since it's something I always like, and I always want to know where I can find a good shawarma! Med Cuisine's chicken shawarma wrap is good, packed with well-flavored chicken, pickles, french fries, lettuce, all lightly drizzled with a subtle garlic sauce. It's definitely filling -- the whole wrap kept me satiated well past when I would normally get hungry again in the late afternoon. I don't know if they have it on special all the time, but the special on the shawarma wrap was a steal! It was two wraps for $10, which meant I had two days' lunch for that price. Can't beat that!
