I've been to Gyroland multiple times for dine in, once for an event, and have gotten takeout twice. Above all else - I find Gyroland's food to be consistently amazing. Some restaurants have a quality difference between dine in and takeout and I've not found that to be the case here. My fave items on the menu are: - lamb shish kebab - adana kebab - pide with Turkish sujuk - lahmacun - hummus Parking is really easy since they have a lot and they have multiple tables inside. For events, they have an area on the side of the restaurant to set up a long table which was great to fit a larger group. The only reason I removed a star for this place is because I've not had the best luck with desserts. The pastries in the case look beautiful but I've tried them multiple times and didn't enjoy them. read more

So good. I got the Beef Kofte Wrap, Lamb Gyro Wrap, and the Pide with Turkish Sujuk. Both wraps were great and absolutely massive. I liked Beef Kofte wrap the most. Wish they would include more sauce with these. The Pide with Turkish Sujuk was delish. Basically the Turkish version of a pepperoni pizza. The cheese was great and the bread was crispy. I could not shovel the food in fast enough! I wanted to try some Turkish food, and Gyroland came up in my search. It was a hit! I started with the hummus. The house-made pita was fresh, airy, and delicious, while the hummus was a homerun. I hope no one was watching - I was devouring! The chicken Adana was scrumptious! The chicken was fork tender and packed with flavor! The pita underneath soaked up all the goodness for a mouth-wateringly perfect bite! The baklava... oh my!!! We really enjoy going to Gyroland because the food and service are always excellent. We've tried lots of delicious things. Everyone is always so warm and friendly too. We have never had a bad meal there. The hummus is so creamy and delicious. The beef pide is huge and one of my favorite things to get there. The beef is so flavorful and I loved the cheese on it. So good. We had come when they first opened and had a good meal but it just kind of fell off our radar. I was craving kebabs for some reason (not that you ever need a reason for that) and this popped up on Yelp and realized we needed to come back. So worth it. The two of us decided to share the combo kebab which includes a sampling of: adana kebab, kofte kebab, chicken adana kebab, lamb shish kebab and chicken shish kebab. Lamb was tender, everything was seasoned well, but I think we both agreed the kofte was the surprising star that night. So juicy and flavorful. A+ We had more than enough meats that we were able to take home some for lunch the next day. In addition it included a large side salad we easily could share, Turkish bread, and your choice of appetizer so we went with the hummus which was creamy and delicious. They also brought us a baba ganoush which we didn't order. Wow glad they did. I've actually never had it but it was definitely something we would order again. Kind of sweet and maybe a little smokey. 1st stop here and enjoyed the vibe. Staff very friendly and the fire oven in the center of the counter was cool. Ordered the gyro wrap and the laymacun. Everything tasted extremely fresh and liked the presentation on the plank with fresh parsley and fresh lemon wedges. As soon as we walked into the building, we were surrounded by incredible smells coming from the oven right in front of the cute dining area. The chef was preparing a fresh pide, which really swayed my order. The food was incredibly fresh and tasty, came out piping hot and was devoured within minutes. I dined here with my parents and daughter with 7pm reservations on a Saturday. They have raved about this place for weeks after dining twice there, so I was eager to try it for myself. My dad highly recommended the lamb chop kebabs, which were perfectly tender and seasoned amazingly well. The pide with pepperoni was incredibly cheesy and rich. I stopped by here a couple of Fridays ago with my wife for dinner. We had unexpectedly found ourselves childless for the evening and so scrambled to Yelp for a somewhat close place to us. After some looking around, we ultimately chose to visit Gyroland and Bakery. This restaurant is located on Babcock Blvd not too far from where Thompson Run Rd ends into it. Whenever we arrived on this early Friday evening there were only a couple of other people in the restaurant and the numbers stayed low even though there was a steady stream. They have both indoor and outdoor seating but due to the heat we chose indoor. Besides the tables they also had a giant display case with some of the bakery items in it for all to see. For dinner on this evening my wife and I started out by sharing the babaganush and then I went with the iskender kebab while my wife went with the combo kabab. My entree was described as Lamb gyro topped with medium - hot tomato sauce and yogurt over pieces of traditional turkish bread while my wife's was described as Grilled combination of adana kebab kofte kebab, chicken adana kebab, lamb shish kebab and chicken shish kebab. The babaganush here was good with a nice smokey flavor to it but what my wife and I really appreciated was the bread which was like your normal pita, only thicker. They worked together nicely and our server did bring us more whenever our entrees came out. Then for our entrees, well both mine and my wife's were delicious. She let me try all of the four meats she received and each was juicy and flavorful. My iskender kebab ended up having a great flavor from the sauce. While I wouldn't call it spicy, I did really enjoy it. Then my meat was also tender and the biggest surprise of all for me was that as described, it was all over the Turkish bread. That bread was cut up tiny and almost played the role of what noodles would in an Italian dish. I throughly enjoyed it but it was also a super heavy dish and I left taking half of it home. With all of our food being fantastic, it was really the service that dropped this from a 5 star to a 4 star review. With a mostly empty restaurant you would think that service would be great but I did sit for most of my dinner with an empty glass of water and only got a new one when I asked when getting the bill. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. While the food may seem a bit pricey at first glance, you definitely get a lot and it's flavorful too! read more

We stopped in for dinner on a Sunday evening around 5. This is a family run business and you can tell they put their love into everything. The hospitality was wonderful. Our waiter was happy to answer any questions and he even brought a couple things by our table to show us what the dishes looked like. The space was open with room for about 10-15 tables roughly. There are also two seater tables right outside the restaurant. The chairs inside are really comfortable! We ordered hummus that came with pita, which we devoured (they brought more pita for us). I got the lamb shish wrap, and hubby got the lamb kebab plate. They also brought us a complimentary salad which was very fresh and yummy. Our main entrees were very filling and full of flavors! The cucumber mint sauce was refreshing. We also got desserts to go. They threw in a couple complimentary house made breads with our desserts as well - very sweet and a great way to get your customers to come back and try out the other goodies! The dessert and pastry selection is not lacking! You can see all the goodies through the window before even stepping foot in the store! There is a lot to choose from, so feel free to ask questions, and they are happy to answer. Great experience at Gyroland! The only somewhat weird thing is that it doesn't appear they have fountain drinks, but not a deal breaker for me. I got a water and it came in a bottle (they brought a glass). Its menu lists baked goods (e.g., Turkish bagel and borek), kebabs (e.g., chicken adana, chicken shish, beef kofte, adana, lamb chop, and lamb shish), sandwiches (e.g., adana kebab, lamb shish, beef kofte, and lamb gyro), oven entrees (e.g., lahmacun and pide), and desserts (e.g., baklava and rice pudding). My husband and I ate lunch here on a Saturday. An employee promptly greeted us, gave us a menu, and seated us at a table. (We were deciding if we would get takeout or eat inside the restaurant, and the employee's native language was not English.) We sat at a spacious and clean table near the door. The time was after 11 AM, and four of the menu items that I tried to order were not yet available, so I ordered other foods instead. Here are my reviews for our foods: Hummus and bread - 4 stars - The hummus and bread were very fresh. They tasted good, but in comparison, I think that a couple of other local Mediterranean restaurants' hummus and bread are more flavorful. Cheese borek - 4.5 stars - I had not previously eaten borek. It is a flaky puff pastry that has a filling. This one was filled with feta cheese, and it tasted good. Meat borek - 5 stars - This borek contained ground beef, and my husband and I enjoyed it very much. Side salad - 4 stars - The lettuce, carrots, and other ingredients were very fresh. Chicken shish kebab - 4.5 stars - Several chunks of chicken were large and juicy. On the side was some type of tomato rice that I liked. Lamb gyro - Not rated - My husband ate this gyro sandwich. He had expected it to be similar to a low-quality Greek-style gyro, but instead it contained high-quality lamb meat. He liked that it was inside a foil wrapper and did not leak juices. Yogurt drink - 4 stars - This yogurt drink tasted sour, which is probably how it is supposed to taste. Fruity cake - 5 stars - I bought some type of fruity cake to-go. After receiving a recommendation from a coworker, I wanted to try it out. I was doing takeout. I loved Chef's Table. I associate gyros with stuffed grape leaves, hummus, and spanakopita. Only the hummus was available, which was very good and served with 1 large oblong pita. The chicken soup was still piping hot when I got home. The broth was very good. The chicken was plentiful. The chocolate parfait was packaged in a cute one serving box. I haven't eaten it yet ... but I have no doubt it will be delicious. I am not a fan of gyros or chicken. So, I couldn't find an entree. A very nice Turkish restaurant and bakery up a bit North from Pittsburgh. I tried a lot of different items on their menu, and was quite impressed by them. I had the lahmacun, wheat bulgur, and Turkish pastries as well as a few complimentary items. The lahmacun was very light but extremely flavorful. It is a nicely charred piece of bread topped with freshly minced lamb. Almost like a Turkish pizza without cheese, or a very very flatbread. The meat was flavorful and the bread was crispy. The wheat bulgur was delicious. This would be a great side to any meat dish, so definitely try some if you get a kebab or something like that. It's soft, flavorful, and tastes homemade. Really good. The Turkish pastry they served me was delicious as well. It was a nice looking 8 figure with fresh bread, a crispy top, and a chocolate inside. I need to go back just to try more pastries, because that was very good. They also served me a complimentary item: the watermelon salad. It was served with herbs and lemon. I wasn't the biggest fan, but it is nice they served it for free and I must say it is fresh and could go well with meat dishes. All in all, a very nice spot. Tried Gyroland on Thursday after some work appointments in the area. I don't often venture to this part of Babcock, but drove past this place early in the day and decided to look up the menu. I got the combo kebab platter and the eggplant salad to take home and eat for dinner with my brother (excuse my plates haha). Eggplant salad was not my favorite, it was pretty sour. The meats in the platter were excellent and I loved the wheat rice. For me, my favorite meats were the adana kebab and the beef kofte. My brother liked the adana and chicken kebabs. The shishkebab meats (lamb and chicken) were both our least favorites but were still ok and good with the meal. Bread was good, and we loved the sauce. We rolled into this new Turkish restaurant and bakery on a Saturday for lunch. It seems like a family run place and the service was great. Our waitress was very helpful and attentive. We tried the babaganush with fresh pita and it was very delicious. That's sort of our "go to" dish for checking out new Mediterranean places and this one hit the mark. We had the Lamb Shish Wrap for our lunch and it was super tender and perfectly cooked. We loved it. They have a huge deli case filled with baked goods so we got some to go. Came in for a late lunch and a dessert to go. This place seems pretty authentic and has a warm, cozy. and friendly vibe with hanging plant decor and softer lighting. The staff were friendly and the food came out within 10-15 minutes. I could immediately tell that everything was fresh. The actual bread of the wrap was hot, soft, and had a slight chew. The chicken was cooked perfectly and the lettuce and tomato were fresh. My only complaint is that, even with the side sauce, there was no flavor. There needed to be at least some salt, but seasoning would've been appreciated. It tasted like I was eating very fresh chicken wrap with no flavor. The dessert case had so many delicious looking options in it. I took the giant eclair to go and was not disappointed. The outside was very reminiscent of a ferrero roche and the inside was similar to a cream filled eclair. I think the top player was cream and the bottom smaller layer was custard. First time there went for lunch. So we started with an appetizer that was scrumptious, pastry with meat filling. The most of us had gyros, the lamb meat was delicious. Another had pida with ground meet, final member had the chicken kabobs both very good. The only short coming was the desserts. Everything was seasoned perfectly and tasted fresh. The babaganush was decious and the pita bread so fresh and delicious too! I brought 3 deserts home. One hurt my belly - a berry tart. The rice pudding and the strawberry vanilla cake covered in chocolate were good. I was more impressed with the presentation of the deserts than the taste. It was all very good and fresh. We drove by and wanted to try it. The gyro meat was different from most but it seemed like it was real meat not compressed. The only problem was it was really greasy it didn't have a lot of flavor. The taziki made it a little better and a salad had good flavor with the dressing but we had to ask for the bread as it didn't come with it. We visited this place on a Saturday evening. The dinner began with their freshly baked bread that was very similar to what I had in Iran when I was young. Our dinner continued with a delicious Turkish Eskandar Kabob and dessert from the various options they had in their fridge. The service was fast and friendly. They don't serve alcohol but we brought our bottles. As a conclusion, this place is great for tasting some Turkish food and pastries. Not a good ambiance for a romantic dinner. I got take out, hummus, feta cheese borek, and 2 desserts- everything looks delicious. The borek is great, warm and toasty with just the right amount of feta. The hummus is excellent.
