I always visit Alladin's Eatery when I come to Pittsburgh. They have the best Middle Eastern dishes, including salads and combo plates. I usually ordered Genie's Combo Plate when it was marked NEW. It included chicken mishwi on a bed of basmati rice, lebanese salata, hummus, lightly fried cauliflower florets drizzled with tahini lemon dressing, and pickled turnip. My friend ordered this, because it always looked so good when I ordered it. There are so many flavors that blend together for a delicious meal. I decided to try something new this time. It was marked NEW: Sally's Favorite Bowl, including basmati rice, lightly fried, and seasoned cauliflower florets, beef kafta, warmed tahini lemon dressing, toasted pine nuts, and parsley. It was only 11.95. The roasted cauliflower was ample and to die for! The beef kafta was a little dry but still tasty. The toasted pine nuts and parsley punctuated the basmati rice nicely. I think Genie's Combo Plate is still my favorite, but I enjoyed trying Sally's Favorite Bowl for a change. Grace, the server, was very nice. My friend is very picky, and she accommodated every request, like warming the pita several times. The restaurant is clean and comfortable.

NOT CELIAC FRIENDLY!! I used to love this place, before I was diagnosed with Celiac's disease. They are one of the few restaurants in Pgh with gluten-free items on the menu. When I order, I ask them not to put pita bread in the bag because I can't have gluten. Still, I get pita in the bag, every time. This time, I ordered (Uber eats) the flourless choco cake. It comes with marker on the plastic container saying "Not gluten free" (barely legible) with a smiley face. You try smiling when you have brain fog and depression for the next month because you ate gluten without first understanding the writing. NOT COOL!!!!

Can't say enough good things about Aladdin's! As a vegetarian, I love going here because I have so many delicious and healthy options to choose from. During my most recent trip, I had the lentil-chili soup and spicy cauliflower appetizer, and shared the small hummus with pita. The portions were huge (I ended up taking a lot home) but everything was so so delicious and very reasonably priced for all that you get! The staff was great as well - quick and very friendly service. Highlight recommend!

Haven't been here in a long time and I just need to say that the Sultan's Shawarma Pitza is A+ Our server was amazing, too!

We frequent Aladdin's Eatery in Squirrel Hill every 1-2 months, and it's always delicious and such great value! Our go-to dishes are the Chicken Pitza and Genie's Combo Plate, alongside the Baba Ghanoush, which we love using as an extra dip for the combo plate - a little hack! The honey mustard dijon on the pitza is so one-of-a-kind delish all around, and the variety in the Genie's Combo Plate keeps our taste buds entertained. On our last visit, we tried the Chicken Sambusek, and it was pretty good and the curry sauce in it as a nice touch. The servers at Aladdin's are always pleasant, making it a very inviting atmosphere. This combo of great food, friendly service, and a warm environment is why we keep coming back!

This is absolutely delicious Mediterranean/Middle Eastern food. I especially love the lentil soup, hummus and babaganoush, and the grape leaves. The salads here also are humongous. I don't think you can go wrong.

Really good stuff! Got a pretty basic meal of hummus and veggies so can't really mess that up, but it was very delicious. Service was average. Ambiance was chill.

Great authentic Mediterranean food I had the lentil soup which was vegan, the falafel, and the jasmine rice Everything extremely flavorful and fresh This will definitely be a go to the next time I'm in Pittsburgh.

The decor, lighting, and ambiance is super upscale and you start to wonder if you can order ooey gooey goodness with some drinks. The seating is abundant with cute two tops by the beautiful natural light, booths big enough for a family, and cute seating in the atrium that feels like a party! We were immediately greeted and seated. The staff is super friendly and they all help each other expediting, serving, and cleaning. We ordered a Hu-No Spritz and Arsenal Draft. The spritz lacked the carbonation of soda, but the fresh mint and lime were just a perfectly refreshing sip. We split a Caesar salad to pretend to be healthy. The mix of lettuce was delightful and the toppings were so lightly added that it was the perfect way to start a pizza rampage. We could barely decide what pizza to get, but we indulged in the Hot Honey Pepperoni. From the creamy vodka sauce to the gooey mozzarella to the charred cup pepperonis filled with drizzles of the sweet hot honey. This pizza immediately cracked my top 5 of the Burgh!!! The dough itself is just... pillowy, crispy, and savory all at once... and yeah.... THAT'S GOOD!!! Hot tip: They do have a pizza window. How freaking cool! So if you wanna just stop by and grab a slice or wanna take a pie home... they are rocking and ready to get you the goods.

On our most recent visit, we sat at our table for about 20 minutes before anyone greeted us, and only after we flagged someone down. The prosciutto pizza was disappointing, and the baked rigatoni tasted overly processed and lacked the quality we remembered. It's unfortunate because this was once a place we visited regularly, but now it's hard to recommend. The atmosphere remains pleasant and lively, and the restaurant is clean and well-maintained.

Fantastic vibe in there as well, cool lighting (although something from up above kept falling). It's a highly acclaimed place for a reason. I got to try their beet soup (borscht), tea, potato pancake, and rice pudding dessert. The menu changes decently consistently I believe, and I did visit a little while ago, for notice. The food was very tasty. Huge potato pancake that was cooked perfectly with a nice topping of what I can only describe as vegan sour cream and some sort of very flavorful vegetables. I quite liked it, surprisingly tasty and creamy topping. Now the borscht, which I tend to be picky with, was just okay. The number one detractor for the borscht was the salt level. The food is just far, far too salty (the pancake was pretty salty too). Other than that, quite good. Love the side of rye. The dessert was very good. Surprisingly light. Came with a little caramelized baked fruit on top (apple/pear, something like that). Rice was reasonably creamy and very flavorful. So good! All in all, a nice spot for a nice dinner. Especially great for vegans. However, the food did taste too salty for my liking.

I wouldn't say anything in particular was the best ever, but everything was really good, which in itself is just awesome. The paneer tikka was good. Nice a flavorful. The paneer lababdar was really good. Asparagus kofta was probably the even better, and then the dal makhani was also good. Do you even know Pittsburgh restaurants, if you don't know Square Cafe?…read more Was it packed? Yes Did we have to wait? Yup But isn't that what we want for our favorite businesses ... and isn't even better when they are fully equipped for their popularity and make the experience great through it all We were immediately greeted by the hostess and given an accurate wait time. You could see the runners and bus team hustling to move along service and turn over tables. As soon as we were seated, the waiter came over and told us to be easy with orders and honestly our coffees and our meals came ridiculously quickly given that every table was fully seated. Okay... so that's how they are awesome despite the overwhelming popularity. Let's just cover the real scoop as to why they are so popular. The restaurant is colorfully decorated with local art and contact to purchase the displayed items. The table has a QR code of Pittsburgh Bucket List places to visit.. so this place is built on community. The menu is filled with modern yummy takes on food, options for every diet, and some extremely inventive local favorites.. I couldn't see a Reuben Benedict and not order it. Marbled Rye toasted with freshly pulled apart corned beef, Russian dressing, and of course a perfectly poached egg with hollandaise. My wife ordered the Chive Biscuit Breakfast Sandwich... and let me tell you that biscuit would be good for every meal of the day! The seasonal drink menu sounds delicious too but we went with a Chai Tea Latte and a French Toast Latte. This place is a Pittsburgh destination! You gotta go to Square Cafe!
