Bad: Despite being fast braiders (3 hours for waist length small- mostly two ppl), she was an hour late for my appointment and then brought her toddler son who didn't allow her to work for an additional half hour or so. She eventually asked her husband to get them (her daughter was also there but was more self-reliant). This enabled her to finish my hair but I was an hour late for picking up my son from the sitter and a boat ride later that evening. In the end, I would go again but probably take the hint if she ASKS if I can come an hour later than our originally scheduled time. I also would likely not have anything urgent planned afterwards, if I do go back. Her partner (finisher) and her are good braiders though so I'm still going to give 3.5/4 stars

The site said she does my service, but there werent any photos in the gallery of my style so I reached out to make sure it's offered. I was very specific. I sent an image of my hair and sent three pictures of my intended style, and I asked her for confirmation that she is able to execute. She was immediately responsive, very communicative, and very confident that she could. NOTE: she asked if I could come in for her to assess my hair. I didn't have the scheduled to do so, but I did offer to come in earlier than the appointment and and offered a virtual consult in addition to the picture of my hair FEES the website says the fee for my service is 185 to 220. HOWEVER, I read the reviews and anticipated she'd ask for more. And she did. She said my service is a days work and asked for $700. I'd prepared for her ask at least double the listed price. So proposed $500. We agreed on $600. HOWEVER, I tipped to give the initial $700 ask. Here's why. I didn't feel hoodwinked ONLY cuz I had the expectation for change (even despite the many confirmations prior to) The highest professionals charge up to 1500-3000 for this same service. I'm comfortable with negotiations. And I respect her craft. Now all that said, it IS more professional and best practice to just ask for /post REAL rate. I understand there are multiple variables but for most, a $500 difference in quote and cost- especially last minute- would be unacceptable. (In fact there was a bait n switch for braid service for someone else while I was there and they left the chair and told them keep the hair) Now that said, I believe there is a (reluctant) willingness to let the business go because the quotes are fair and reflective of the work included. I personally agree their skills are worth the asks. I just hope they consider updating their business model and posted rates, for transparency. CUSTOMER SERVICE Great treatment. Latrice tried to come early but ran a little late. Another worker was present and helpful. Again, Latrice stayed communicative. I was Greeted and acknowledged. I was Spoken to kindly and engaged in conversations. I found the place to be family-oriented amidst most Employees . I felt welcome. SKILL Latrice is very talented. She shared the responsibility of my hair with someone in training so I could feel the difference in tightness, etc. however, I found her to be an excellent trainer, coached on best practices and held student to high standard. They partnered very well to ensure I got a sharp and consistent outcome. I am highly satisfied. Summary Because they partnered, my micro twist install was completed in under 12 hours For precision, ex: exact micro parts, etc id stick with belle micro in dallas. She answered the phone right away when I called and was sweet and helpful. 2 days later a friend and I went in for lessons. 30 minutes into the lesson I had completed my first cornrow ever! 3 hours later I had finished a complete hairstyle on my 4 year old. Isis coached us through the whole thing and also taught us how to "feed" their hair from the inside-out through the right vitamins and the right food choices. She also showed us how to gently braid hair without all of the harmful pulling and combing that tends to happen at your typical braid shop. And she showed us how to braid in hair when you want to add some length to the cornrow. I went in looking for a cornrow lesson and walked out enlightened and empowered. It was in its very awkward stage then and I knew I needed a trim but didn't want anyone doing it wrong because the growing out would just look worse. Ahhh, I can't remember his name but he is the owner and his wife does nails. Anyway, he did a great job at trimming it and gave me directions for coming back every 10-12 weeks. Two weeks ago, I decided to get some high and low lights added to my hair bc my hair is so flat that it needed some color to it. I am not very good with words but he let me pick out some colors on the chart. He was kinda nervous about doing it, I guess because I seemed so unsure of myself haha but he went ahead and did it.
