So let me start off by saying I try to avoid the food court at all costs in any mall, but especially this one since chick-fil-a was put in and also because it seems social distancing is a thing of the past at this food court, BUT... I had to do an in-store pickup as well as a return and happened to walk past somebody with a milkshake from here and got to thinking, I've never tried one from here (any excuse is as good as another, right?) so I marched myself up to the 3rd floor to get one. It was semi-busy, took maybe about 10 minutes to place an order and receive my item but it was WORTH THE WAIT! I ordered the Belgian chocolate, no whip cream and it was honestly the best milkshake I have EVER had in my entire life. Truly an experience one mustn't go without any longer... It was so chocolatey with soft little chunks of chocolate inside that melt in your mouth, truly one of the best ice cream deserts I've had. It came with a paper straw which initially I didn't like but it was wide enough to allow ice cream/chocolate to come through without getting stuck. I came back 2 days later to get 2 more, one for now and one for later they were that good, albeit expensive at almost $9/piece. I'm not normally a Häagen-Dazs person but this turned me into one. Workers were super friendly as well, they have little menus behind the counter they give you if you don't know all that they offer, or you can order online for pickup and see all they offer. I'm most likely going to try another flavor next time I go just to see what else I might be missing, but will probably get 2 again they are SO GOOD! Definitely a must try! read more

Shopping on a Sunday at Somerset and had the craving for ice cream. First time I ever had visited this kiosk although I've been coming to Somerset for like 20 years. Wow! Was so good. Service was excellent too. I wish I had gotten the gentleman's name. I had way too many questions and he was so helpful and smiled the entire time. It was about 5pm so it was really busy but he was still so patient. So a big thank you to him. Yes, it is a bit of $ but that's expected, it's premium ice cream My daughter has the cone with chocolate ice cream - simple and delicious. She asked for a sample and he was happy to oblige. So my husband and I shared the banana split. Picture attached. No words how good it was. You get 2 scoops of whatever flavors you want. I chose Dolce de Leche and Cookie Dough. It was layers of the following - chopped strawberries, the 2 scoops of ice cream, pineapple, chopped bananas and I requested hot caramel and no whipped cream. Stopped in here for a quick ice cream the other day during free cone day. Felt VERY weird to just grab a cone and walk away without paying, lol, but free ice cream is free ice cream. It's hard to find an actual Haagen-Dazs establishment serving up whatever drinkable or eatable treats ready-made and right into your hands. Well, look no further than the prestigious Somerset Collection Mall in Troy. Easily accessible by most of Detroit's northern suburbs, this place is nestled in the diverse food court on the 3rd floor of the North campus of this huge mall. I have had ice creams and shakes that were creamy and delicious beyond verbal expression here. One of my favorites is the Dulce Le Leche shake - infusing the flavors of vanilla and caramel together to bring orgasmic sensations to the taste buds. The employees here are fantastic, friendly, and make the treats with finesse and picture perfect presentation. One of the managers, named John, is always a charm to be served by. When I am craving a heavily caloric and rich treat at a somewhat premium price tag in the summertime - Haagen-Dazs comes to mind. Haagen-Dazs, in my opinion makes the richest, creamiest ice creams, and it's right up there with Oberweis in taste. Sadly, in these days of saving money - I sometimes have to settle for Baskin Robbins. Boo! Haagen Dasz customer service department is very nice and cares about their stores and company. After my bad experience they sent me coupons to make up for my the issue and stated they would speak with the owner regarding the milkshake issue. I must say I was surprised but with Haagen Dasz having such a big name and presence they want to make sure they continue to be a top brand ice cream and take any issues seriously. Arriving at this location at 9:40pm, we were told they were closed by an employee at the door with a posted closing time of 10:00pm. Once we pointed that out, she told us that we could not enter the store. My group was really interested ice cream so we went across the street to Francesco Gelato where we were welcomed as were the folks coming in behind us. I asked the proprietor what time they closed. He responded "when the last customer is served". Now that is customer service. read more

I worked at this store for a short period of time. The ice cream is good, but overpriced. The staff is abusive, homophobic, and racist (particularly to Indian and Asian people). On numerous occasions the term "dyke" and "faggot" were used. They are also ableist and make fun of disabled customers. Not only this, but I've also witnessed them drop spoons on the ground and put them back into containers to give to customers, spill drinks and use their hands to push the drink back into the cup, and spray the cleaning supplies on or near the ice cream. They complain about customers taking too long or "being annoying" and make fun of them after they leave. In all, the staff at this particular location is highly unprofessional and inappropriate. I tried calling HR several times to no avail, so I guess not even the corporate office cares. Enjoy the ice cream here, because as soon as you leave you might be insulted. read more

Freezer burned ice cream!! I ordered the Raspberry Sobert and over half my cup was freezer burned. I went up to the counter and told the lady that it may be time to switch the tub out and showed her my chunks of ice that was left. All she said was thanks. She could have offered to replace the portion that was bad with something else! Too expensive to not get a full cup of good ice cream! What a shame!! read more

Total Ripoff and customer service is awful. If I could rate this store negative, I would do that. I ordered a dazzler for my 3 year old for $9 and the person making it put 2 scoops of ice cream instead of 3 and filled the cup with strawberry, blueberry, and whipped cream and then chuckling with his buddies in the back about what a great job he did cheating customer of there money by not even giving a portion that a customer was paying for. My son was running away in the mall so i simply paid the cashier to go grab my son and later realizing that i was completely ripped off when i started feeding my 3-year old the Sunday. The store has too many attendants but the quality of customer services is awful and looks like the the attendants are trained to serve a lower portion. It was a complete turnoff. read more
