The space feels alive--music low enough for conversation, but high enough to keep the energy fun. Now, the food. Whoever's in that kitchen clearly cares about their craft. Every bite of my meal felt intentional--the kind of cooking that tells you someone's actually proud of what they plate. The texture, the seasoning, that balance of savory heat and crisp freshness--it's the kind of food that makes you look around the table just to say, "Yo, are you tasting this too?" The staff deserves a shoutout, too. Friendly without being fake, attentive without hovering. They made me feel like a regular even though it was my first visit. If you're the kind of person who loves discovering those local gems where passion meets comfort food, this is it. First let me preface that Asian cuisines are my top tier food choices. I am very snobby about it to be honest. I'm very pleased by the fusion here! I had a Thai yum steak salad Thai hot and yesss the flavors were so perfect! Sweet salty Spicy sour crunchy soft all of it! Devine! Husband got the duck ramen and it came out picture perfect. I could smell the aroma of the broth and my mouth began to water! I don't care for ramen except for those rare exceptions but let me tell you this was it! The duck quality was fresh not over roasted like some places where it's days old but it was perfect! The fruit soda was nice and they had a great selection of bobas. I don't drink alcohol anymore but would have loved a non alcoholic corona or Sam Adam's but they don't offer any. This would be my only request for an improved experience. Service was excellent! Sat at the bar and the bartender was friendly and attentive the other wait staff was friendly as I complimented the food as enjoyed it. I eat Thai so much I can order it hot in Thai and I was giggling with a server pet mok mok make it hot! lol

We arrived at 5:30 and it was packed, but a table opened for us within two minutes. The ambiance was awesome, with each table having its own miniTV! Guests didn't have to choose between watching Wimbledon or the World Cup (or anything else they chose). Such a clever idea and probably great for entertaining kids, too. The server was prompt and friendly, and we got our drinks and app ordered immediately. We split the corn dog as an appetizer (felt right for 4th of July), and my husband declared it was one of the best he ever had. A great ratio of the sweet fried dough and salty hot dog. Definitely a reasonable portion to split as an appetizer and still have room for an entree. We got the tomato and corn salad as a side, which was a nice palate cleanser. I got the bacon cheeseburger (sub a pretzel bun, which you can absolutely do) and my husband got the Van Helsing. Both were excellent. He got regular fries and I got sweet potato fries and a side salad, also fantastic. My meal was exactly what I wanted - a classically delicious cheeseburger (I removed the bacon and put it on my side salad, which I highly recommend). My husband's had perfectly cooked garlic cloves and a nice zest with the jalapeños. They also had a great tap list to go wash everything down! We left stuffed but not feeling like we were going to die. It was a wonderful experience for start to finish and we'll be back!

I got the crispy duck wings (and do not know why I didn't take a picture ) but they were very crispy and very good. They came with 2 sauces, which I did not try because they said they were a bit spicy and I don't like spicy, but they were plenty good on their own. I ordered the One Bad Pig with a side of sweet potato fries and of course had to get an extra side of tator tots because I love them. The burger was very good and juice, hard to eat because it's so big, but I managed to do it. The tots were crispy just like I like them and the fries were your typical sweet potato fries but very good. The service was attentive and good and it seemed to be a local crowd and was a nice vibe. It is off the beaten path so not too touristy but the locals know about it so it gets crowded. I highly recommend this place for a burger if you are wanting one!!

Many years ago, when we lived in Atlanta Georgia my family had an absolute favourite spot to dine…read more That place was called Po Folks. It had family style meals on long tables that felt like you joined multiple families at a big feast. We were giant fans of their fried chicken and their hush puppies. Unfortunately, like so many restaurants Po Folks closed their doors forever and our favourite dining place became only a memory. That was until we visited my sister in Saint Petersburg, Florida. While looking for a local restaurant, lo and behold, we found a Po folks! Upon further investigation we found that there are five Po Folks restaurants still in existence and except for the Saint Petersburg location all are in northern Florida. With our expectations off the chart, understanding that memories are often better than the actual events, we visited the Saint Petersburg's Po Folks Restaurant. Although the decor was somewhat different (not as large and the old white and blue chequered design is now red and white), we're happy to report that the food was just as good. The Service: Our server was delightful and happy to hear about our previous experience. She made sure our new experience was just as delightful with our glasses always full and our every request fulfilled in a timely manner. The ambiance.: Po folks is set up to feel like a family dining picnic. Designed to feel like a family dining picnic, it's feel is quite a change from the typical Metro Restaurant experience. The design matches the type of 'cookin' and friendly service to a tee. The food: How we initially found the Saint Petersburg Po Folks came about by a challenge we have faced since our move to Florida and that is finding a well-made whole catfish. In Texas there were many restaurants that offered whole (not filets) catfish to choose from. Not in Florida where we have not found a single restaurant that offers whole catfish. But lo and behold, Po Folks came up when we made our "whole catfish" search. Although not quite as large a catfish as what we are used to in Texas, the catfish was delightfully moist and flaky and easily came off the bone. The fried chicken and fried okra were just as fantastic as we remembered and the hush puppies were moist and a bit sweet, just as we love them. We also tried their lemonade which was well balanced (not too tart or too sweet.). We're sad that there is no Po Folks down in the south Florida area but as my sister said "we'll now be seeing a lot more of you, just be sure to stop in and visit with us along with your visit to Po folks."

I didn't order all the items on the menu but I ordered so much we have leftovers for lunch! I highly recommend the fried green tomatoes and the okra! Those are two things that have to be cooked to perfection and yes, they were! The cook at this restaurant knows what he's doing in the kitchen, that's for sure! On the top of the yummy list are the sausage gravy and biscuits, grits, BLT with bacon cooked the way it should be... not too soft, not too crispy. Goldilocks would definitely steal it off the plates of the three bears! Whatever you order just know you're at the right restaurant for a delicious meal and you'll be satisfied when you walk out the door!

Inside, it looks like a classic diner, and the staff were friendly, which made for a welcoming atmosphere. That said, the food itself was a bit "meh." The biscuits were definitely the highlight, but nothing else really stood out. The grits in particular were a bit overcooked and had a very gummy texture. With so many other breakfast options in the area, we might skip this one on a future visit.
