I arrived around 2:20 p.m. and was let in by a worker at the front door, who told me they were closing shortly and suggested I head to the deli first if that was what I wanted. Once I walked in, however, a cashier yelled to me that they were closed. I was a little confused because I had just been let in by a worker who knew I was coming inside. From there, the experience felt a bit chaotic. There were quite a few people in the store, and I felt like the workers were very displeased by my presence. I honestly felt like I was a bother. I completely understand that I arrived close to closing, so I tried to be respectful of their time and rushed through the store to grab a few items. I had driven an hour to get there, so I wanted to at least make the most of the trip. When I went to check out, I initially got in one line, and the cashier was finishing up with the customer already there and directed me to another line, so I followed her instructions. I had a basket with my items and wasn't sure if I was supposed to empty it myself. There wasn't an obvious place to leave the empty basket, and the cashier never indicated that she would take it from me. I apologized and explained that it was my first time there. She told me that next time I should come during the week so I could browse more. As I was leaving, I noticed so many people trying to enter the store and being turned away because it was now past closing. That made me think Mazzaro's may want to reconsider its Saturday hours. They are clearly a very popular and well-known store, yet being open from only 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Saturdays and being closed on Sundays makes it difficult for people who work typical Monday-Friday, full-time hours to visit. I take responsibility for not checking the hours before making the drive, and I understand that the employees were probably ready to go home. However, I still think there is a difference between enforcing closing time and making a customer feel unwelcome. Unfortunately, I did not feel warmly greeted or welcomed during my visit, and it put a damper on the entire experience.

I frequent Olivia (downtown) every 1-2 weeks, and am able to get two full meals out of an order of pasta and garlic bread. And that's a fancy restaurant. While this place is cute and has good service, it's essentially fast-food pasta. Having said that.... The restaurant itself is very clean and bright. You order at the front, are given a buzzer, and go find a table. They have both indoor and outdoor seating options. Indoor is fairly small, but they make it work! It's not meant to sit and talk for hours. Once your food is ready they deliver it to your table, along with a glass bottle of tap water for the table. It can get kind of noisy depending on business. I've always had great service - they're always on top of things and walking around in case you need something. Since I was dining alone tonight I opted to sit at the counter, which I love the concept of!! The food itself is delicious. The vodka pasta is really good (spicy)! Their daily bread is fabulous, nice and thick and soft - perfectly dippable, which is great since it comes with EVOO with herbs. A couple times when ordering carryout the pasta seemed a bit dry, so I made sure to ask for extra sauce. It was perfect that way! The pasta itself you can tell is fresh; perfect amount of chewiness and texture. Next time I'll probably try the vodka pasta with the breaded chicken - watching them cook, it looks delicious!! I was told it's probably the most frequently ordered item on the menu. All in all, I highly recommend giving them a try. Just be prepared to pay a high price. I'm going with an overall 3-stars based on price for the portion size. If that changes in the future I'll happily edit my review. One final note: parking can be a bitch here, and at least one of the neighboring lots has tow-warnings so heads up!
