Given the brand's New York reputation I was expecting a lot from H&H Bagels. The bagels looked great but didn't quite have that classic New York bagel chew or crisp crust. Mine were a bit soft and dense in the center and the dough tasted a bit sweet to me. The breakfast sandwich was decent but not worth the higher price tag in my opinion. Service was very friendly but a little scattered and it took some time for our order despite it not being too busy. I think with time things will smooth out. read more

I can't remember the name of my bagel sandwich but it was fantastically delicious. As you can see from my picture very well put together and made with love. The flavors of the sandwich was outstanding and the avocado was the icing on the cake. The ambiance of the establishment was nice and calm. Everyone greeted my Fiancée and I as we walked through the door. My only knock on this place is that they only had your regular bagel places cream cheese. I'm talking the classic BEC, The Nova Specialty, and the bold Southwest Turkey, just to name a few. And we can't forget about fresh coffee and cold brew to fuel your day! I Pulled up to H&H expected a line. I was please to see there was not. if they were busy you could have a big order ready to go. It looks like new money inside. I was not greeted upon entry which was nice(recording greeting upon entering an establishment now). However I was greeted by several employees and when placing my order. I ordered an everything bagel toasted with turkey and American cheese. They have everything from sanchwiches, coffee and more. Iwas handed my breakfast sandwich in minutes. Hate to do it but this joint is a zero. Nothing speaks true. New York bagels... False. Just another chain business with letters on the building the same as a bagel spot from up north. Prices are wild. It's boiled bread, not swiss chocolate (I get it, it's more nuanced than that but attempting to make a basic point). Service stinks to boot. Second time I tried to give it a chance but I walked out after the place was near empty and they were struggling to keep up. The first time I was there, the bagel tasted sweet. Very clean and good amount of options. The ingredients inside the bagel were fresh and good quality, I liked the jalapeño cream cheese. Service wasn't friendly, no welcome in or smiles. I wanted to love this place it had good presentation but the bagels were extremely dry and dense, almost like stale bread. Which ruined the whole bagel... we ordered multiple. The muffin didn't seem homemade so probably prepackaged. Also nice when places like this have water out, they only had juice for sale no water. read more

Went for the first time this morning, I got the bagel with salmon, cream cheese, tomato, capers and onion which is my go to order at most bagel spots. I thought the price was steep, $19...I just compared the price to another bagel place in the area, they charge $9 for the same thing. That's an excessive price increase. I also ordered two breakfast sandwiches which were also priced quite a bit higher than what we are used to. At the end of the day, a bagel place is a bagel place and paying double isn't worth it for us. read more

Great bagels but pricey. One dozen with 2 medium cream cheese were over $42. Chewy like they are supposed to be.

I was so excited to see H&H come to our area but after four visits now, I've lost that excitement completely. Will not be back again. The bagels are mediocre at best, and honestly, it's Florida not NY, I expect that. The real issue is the service. Never welcoming, they hardly acknowledge your presence, seem borderline annoyed, and move at the slowest snails pace I have ever seen. If I'm dishing out $6 -$19 for a bagel sandwich, I'd like a "hello"or "have a nice day" at the very least. 2 stars only because the store is clean and new. read more

I'll give it to H&H. The Bagels are good. However, the people working at this location barely acknowledge that you are standing in front of them, even when I was only 1 of 2 customers in the store. Then look and talk to you like you came there to bother them. Almost no communication. I said thank you after the handoff to no reply. If this place is lucky, competition won't set up shop close by. I'd rather eat a bad bagel then deal with this level of bothered service. 2 stars is because the bagel is good. Good looking store. read more

Love the scallion cream cheese!!!!! The young lady working was running this shop with excellence. She was running the grill and helping 3 customers all at once with kindness and efficiency. Each bagel sandwich she made looked fabulous. I order 2 sesame seed bagels with scallion cream cheese and ........ yum! I could put that cream cheese on everything! The bagels are very dense and dry. Panera has better bagels than this place. Also paying $13 for a bacon, egg and cheese on a stale Bagel is not the move. I don't think this place will last considering all the poor reviews. The texture of the bagels feel like the bottom of a burger bun that's been sitting out for a few days. Also, the bacon egg and cheese bagel sandwich was extremely bland. Sad I wanted to like this place. read more

I used to order dozens of H&H bagels in NYC and so I was beyond excited when I heard they were coming to town. I now have tried them twice and been disappointed both times. This time I asked for a toasted poppy seed bagel with scallion cream cheese and I received a barely toasted (emphasis on BARELY) with scallion cream cheese and pieces of melted cheddar cheese. They clearly did not clean the knife off from the previous egg sandwich. The bagels definitely do not bring me back to my days spent in NYC. read more

I hate to say this, but don't be fooled. This is not the H&H bagel I grew up familiar with. I was there in the early morning and the texture is tough, and the size of the bagel itself seems smaller. Do the people who own or manage this place sample the bagels or have they had experience with the original and know what a 'Real' bagel should be? It's probably not the case, but it's almost as if they were shipped from NY and a day old. I was in there about 9:00am and the Bagel selection was sparse. Maybe four of each in the baskets. Was happy to see that H&H was in the St. Johns area, being from NY and was looking for the WOW factor, I did get the WOW factor but it wasn't for the food but for the price, bought into it because I thought I was going to get some good local. Bagels were not fresh by any means and tasted like they were frozen which they were per Google Search. Spread was Bland and every bite of Bagel Sandwich was flat. The Franchise Price is not worth it. honestly super disappointed, there was a whole 30 minute drive for me and my wife to get here. arrived a whole 30 minutes before the store was closing just to get greeted with "our grill is closed". I guess getting out of there on time is more important than their customers. noted. I wouldn't have been irritated but their grill accounts for 70 percent of their menu. if you're coming from Jacksonville like I did, I'd think twice or atleast call first. read more
