Oscar and his team built our pool deck from high-end travertine, and the results are absolutely stunning. Every single detail -- from the layout and leveling to the finishing touches -- was done with such care and precision. After interviewing 8 or 9 landscaping companies, we chose Oscar. What really stood out to us was his professionalism, he gave us a detailed proposal a few hours after our meeting! His bid came in right in line with most of the contractors we interviewed and he included the services of a professional designer at no additional cost. He listened to what we wanted, offered great suggestions, and made sure everything was perfect. Oscar is very personable, kind and intelligent. Communications with him was excellent, he responds to texts within minutes. His crew was hardworking and respectful. Our backyard has been completely transformed -- the travertine looks beautiful and feels like a luxury resort. The custom lighting is spectacular! We've already received so many compliments from friends and family. I can't recommend Oscar Landscaping enough if you're looking for someone who truly takes pride in their work and delivers exceptional results. After living in our home for a year, it was time to redesign our backyard. I submitted a price quote request on Yelp and received a few responses to schedule a consultation. After meeting with other landscape companies, my choice was to go with Alan at Green Planet Landscape. It wasn't just about the price quote, but Alan's thoughtful ideas and recommendation made us trust him even more with the project. He would make sure our backyard would look amazing and presentable. He drew a sketch design for us to submit to the HOA. After we got an approval from the HOA for the project, Alan scheduled us within a few days. Alan first introduced me to Angel to have him do a walkthrough around the backyard. We had them install stone walls, pavers, artificial turf, and planter beds. The project lasted about 3 days and they did a fantastic job on transforming our backyard. My wife is so in love with plants and was very happy they planted her plants in the soil. Our dogs were so excited and love playing on the turf. I would highly recommend Green Planet Landscape. We finally are comfortable to contact them in the near future.

Without increasing estimated costs, Green Planet Landscaping surprised us with an additional amenity that actually rectified an issue raised by the local HOA. Thus, we are 110 percent satisfied with their service. Inasmuch as I live several hours away from Brentwood and Discovery Bay, I did not have the pleasure of meeting Alan in person. However, our communications were very effective and I am delighted to have completed this task as our father's Power-of-Attorney.

He took our general ideas and turned them into a cohesive, functional outdoor design that beautifully complements our property while staying within our budget. The scope of the project included building a 14' x 17' patio area with a gazebo, installing a pressure-treated wood retaining wall, constructing a patio bench seat, landscaping our hillside, and building steps to provide safe access up our steep hill. The craftsmanship and attention to detail throughout the project were outstanding. Alonso and his team were consistently prompt and professional. Whenever unexpected issues arose, Alonso was transparent and communicated clearly about the situation, available options, and any associated costs. We greatly appreciated his honesty and commitment to delivering the highest quality work. I sought several quotes for options, and Alonso's was the most competitive for his high level of experience and craftsmanship. Alonso was fantastic to work with- he collaborated with me on the vision, debating the merits of different types of materials and structures. We went back and forth for several weeks while we figured out exactly what we wanted to execute, and he sought outside research to make sure everything was appropriate for our exact situation. He provided images of what the stairs would look like and educated me on the pros and cons of different types of pavers and wood. When it came time to do the construction, his team was timely, professional, and efficient. They even noticed some damage to a retaining wall and were able to fix it for us. The stairs look beautiful, and we are thrilled to have full use of our backyard again! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Golden Hills and hope to work with them again in the future!

The only thing I had an issue with was how long it took. He has a small crew but if you're not in a hurry and you have patience he does a fantastic job. They removed our grass and leveled the area which was very uneven due to our septic settling. They replaced all the sprinklers added drip. They added decomposed granite to an area and built a flagstone and DG walkway. We have acreage and they laid over 3,000 square feet of grass! They also laid gopher wire under the sod. It turned out beautifully.

Greg and Daniel his brother are from Antioch, went to school here, and both are very knowledgeable and work very hard, even on weekends to get the job done right. I still remember when we had a big wind storm, it blew part of my fence down over a weekend. I called Greg and asked if he could come out and put the slats back in and he said, I will be right over. He stopped at Home Depot, picked up wood and everything he needed, he showed up, rebuilt that part, and would not accept any money for the supples or labor. Greg and his crew were very careful with our pool, he covered it to make sure no dirt would get in it, and the end result was amazing. Our previous irrigation system had leaks etc…read more During the site visit, to which Mike showed up drunk (which is fine, whatever), he mentioned that his workers would add irrigation to the pots, remove existing pipes, and bury the low-voltage electric wire which was going to be running along the pipes anyway. Mike canceled on the originally scheduled date once. Finally, Mike sent two guys to install the irrigation. They were fine and were happy to bury the electric wire when requested, but then later Mike came and rudely told me that that wasn't part of the spec, and that "these guys are stupid, if you ask them to wash your dishes they would do that too". I didn't appreciate the racist comment but let it go. But that was not all... there isn't much space between our home and the next one (think 12 inches or so), and he asked how we would get the siding repaired should we ever need to. I said I didn't know.. he said "maybe you can hire an Ethiopian to get in there, they're all thin because of the famine there". Truly WTF Anyway... judging the work itself - the installation seemed fine when it was done, but we later noticed and had to patch four leaks. I'm not sure if there are more. The piping they used, I was later told, was lower quality too. I'm not sure how long it'll last. I was unable to get competing quotes because we were short on time, but later I realized that his quote was a bit higher than others for the same work. He insisted I pay in cash, and so I did. I then spent literal WEEKS following up with him for an invoice (which I need for bookkeeping), and he kept blowing me off. He said things like "I had a family emergency", "I have 50 jobs this week", "I'm busy" and then simply stopped responding. He also said that it's just 2 minutes of work and that he would get to it... but he never did.

These guys cleaned up after themselves at the end of each day; including sweeping and hosing down the street to keep the neighborhood tidy. They parked in ways to minimize getting in our neighbor's way. They knocked on our neighbor's doors the day before the cement truck was coming as a courtesy. They took out some grass during the driveway demolition and replaced the grass as well as the irrigation. Phenomenal customer service. Things happen during demolition and construction. A few things were damaged but they were honest and fixed them promptly. These guys know what they're doing. They are accountable, kind, and a hard working team. We did not have a design in place, however, the team was able to put together a simple, yet effective design of what my wife and I had envisioned. What was once just dirt, soon became a beautiful mix of pavers, artificial grass, lighting and retaining wall. The team worked quickly and efficiently and made sure to go over every detail to ensure it was to our liking. Andy was very knowledgeable and made sure our plan came to life. We now have a large paver area and concrete pad which fit our firepit and backyard furniture. Our kids now have a large area to grow into and play in for years to come. BDC Landscape was able to complete my backyard in such a quick turnaround that they were able to accomodate the front of the house as well.
