Shane and his crew were contracted to remodel our master bathroom in Oct 2024. His crew was timely and professional, ensuring that the work area was cleaned up each day after the work. The work took slightly longer than we thought it would take however, ensuring the quality of the work was well worth it. The cost for the project was very affordable and included the reasonable expectation that we would purchase the vanity. I have used this company before and have never been disappointed. I would actually give them a 4+ for the work that was done and would hire again for future work. read more

I hired H & H Painting to paint my bedroom, living room, dining room and kitchen. They were very reasonably priced, completed the work as scheduled, used high quality paint, and did a fantastic job. They spent the first day prepping and priming the areas and the next 2 days with the actual painting. They removed all of the switch plates and then replaced them all at the end of the job. They replaced the furniture and did a great job of clean up. The communication with William who was on site was excellent, and Shane was always available by phone for any questions. I highly recommend H&H painting, and will use them again for all of my painting needs. read more

We signed a contract with H&H Painting (Shane Hinderliter, owner) https://www.handhpainting.net/ to replace the flooring and handrails on our wood deck and apply two coats of solid deck stain. Regrettably, our experience with Shane and his company was a nightmare. His workers applied latex exterior house paint to our deck instead of deck stain. The finish on the deck had issues from day one of a shiny, tacky finish, followed by areas of peeling, bubbling and oozing, and finally a solid coating of white, chalky water spots all over the entire surface. After several attempts to contact Shane through phone calls, emails, sending photos of the damage and asking him to come take a look, it took several *months* before he finally admitted fault and said he was committed to fixing the problem. He never once came to see the deck in person, but he sent one of his guys, Daniel. After several days of using various wood strippers and an insane amount of heavy powerwashing, Daniel said the paint would not strip evenly, and there was no choice but to rebuild the deck. He said he would return the next day to replace the boards and stain it like it should have been in the first place, and as explicitly stated in the contract. We waited, but he never showed up. We then contacted Shane to find out what happened. He said he was "thinking about it" and wanted photos. We had already submitted numerous photos and descriptions of what the deck looked like prior to their "fix", so we sent more photos of what our deck looked like now, after their repair attempt. Shane did not bother to respond. We gave him a few days and contacted him again, this time telling him if he did not respond we would alert the public and also report him for breach of contract. He chose to ignore us again. We paid Shane Hinderliter of H&H Painting for a new looking deck, and we were left with one that is peeling and worn. We have in writing that he stated our deck would be fixed, but this has not happened and he simply disappeared when it obviously wasn't going to be a cheap and easy fix. The ruined deck wasn't the only issue with H&H Painting. They did shoddy work replacing trim boards on the house, rebuilt our front porch rails with the top rail and balusters at crooked angles, laid ladders overnight on top of our landscaping instead of moving them just a few inches over into the grass, left empty pop cans, water bottles and trash under the new deck, brought a toddler with them who was wandering around the worksite and trampling plants, left oil stains on our driveway, tossed all of the splintered deck boards and nails onto the grass vs. using tarps or containers, and left large pieces of splintered wood and deck screws in the grass. So many issues causing us stress and requiring contact back and forth with Shane for things to be fixed and redone. He was largely unprofessional and slow to respond (often claiming he was on vacation, again and again) during the year-long ordeal. If anyone has had good experience with Shane Hinderliter/H&H Painting, consider yourself lucky that you got a good crew or there were no or few issues. We are proof that it all depends on what crew you get and that Shane has very little knowledge or control over the skills of his contractors and the actual work being performed. We are also proof that issues will be left unresolved, and Shane will take your money and disappear. He will brag about his "5 year warranty", but this is a joke as he isn't even willing to fix immediate problems with the original workmanship. We have every email and text from the past year, the can of latex paint used on the deck that was left with us, as well as photos and videos as proof of everything stated here. read more

Signed contract to paint entire exterior of house in April of '23...after numerous calls to see when work would be started, I was contemplating on asking for deposit back. Excuses were: too hot, too windy, on vacation, numerous times it was "we'll start in 2 weeks" only to have a month go by and no start. Finally, in August of '23, job started. Took them 9 days too complete scraping, painting all of exterior house, which I didn't mind since it seemed they were doing a thourogh job. When completed, I was very satisfied with work. A year later, summer of '24, I started noticing chipping of paint in a couple areas. Shane has a 5 year warranty against chipping and peeling. When trying to get this resolved, he is very hard to get to respond, probably because he will lose money on his warranty claims. I ended up scraping and painting with leftover paint from job. Now more areas need repainting but I'm sure getting Shane to respond will be a chore as always. read more

Shane with H&H painted the exterior trim of our home. He had a BUY NOW OR PAY MORE high-pressure sales approach. The work was promised late fall of 2022 but was not completed until spring of 2023. Shane said that there is a 6-month period after work is complete to find/fix touch up and any issues we found. The job was done April 4th 2023. This review is being posted 4 months to the day later and multiple issues are still lingering. Missed areas with no new paint, tape residue all over the work area and overspray all over our siding and deck. I have been in contact with Shane for 4 months trying to get these issues resolved with minimal feedback and multiple scheduled appointments that resulted in a "no call / no show". H&H painted the exterior of our house. The house was painted but the work was sloppy. They got paint on our foundation, sidewalk, and numerous areas of grass. They also got paint on the interior carpet when they painted the front door. I asked them to clean up the paint on the side walk and they claimed they didn't do that but they would clean it up. Well, they did get the paint off but they did it by grinding the concrete which left ugly spots on the concrete. They agreed to replace two siding boards that had some damage but then when they were on-site they painted over the damage and claimed they couldn't replace those boaards. I would not use this company in the future. read more

I hired H&H to do a large interior job for me, painting most of the interior, tiling in master bathroom and wallpapering 2 feature walls and a guest bathroom. The painting and tiling were done well and no complaints. The wallpapering did not go well. During installation of a feature wall, I had to tell the installers that they did not match the paper correctly and they had to take down a piece and do it over. I knew the 2 men working on the wallpaper in the guest bathroom were struggling with it, but they got it done and it looked ok. Until a week or so later when 2 pieces started to fall off the wall. I reported the issue and after several reminders and more than 2 months, they sent the same person that applied the wallpaper back out to repair. I told him that although I was no expert, I thought the problem was he was trying to wallpaper on top of wallpaper. I should have watched how he repaired it, but I was working and could not. Needless to say, a week later the wallpaper was falling off the wall again in the same place. This time I have not been successful in getting H&H back out to fix correctly, and I have tried for over 7 months! I gave up and had to pay a professional wallpaper hanger to correct. I am very disappointed in H&H not standing by their work. If they did not have the expertise to wallpaper, they should not have agreed to do it. read more

We hired H&H Painting to screen in our covered porch and to install a closet in our laundry room. Both projects turned out great. The staff is courteous, they do quality work, and they make sure the job is completed to our satisfaction. We recommend H&H for anyone that needs good service and quality workmanship! read more

I had quite a lot of work needed on the exterior of my house. Not only did the project get started almost a full month later than I was told, they also charged me an additional $8000 that was not part of the original estimate. The job was mostly done satisfactorily; however, the cleanup was almost non-existent. I was experiencing an extremely painful recovery from breaking my back and practically begged them to not leave things in my driveway, especially those large nails. There were so many things left in a mess for me to deal with and a huge pile of nails was found. For the outrageous price they charged, I expected them to pick up after themselves. read more

H&H is a fraud to everybody that is looking for work done or a job with. We did a job for him and he was never telling us how much he was paying us. We did a whole bathroom, we demolished the wall applied new dry wall, we did tile on stand up shower painted the walls we did flooring too. It was a minimum 2500 job for me and my dad. This guy has poor communication with clients and his workers. read more

Won't do contractual work Shane's crew did a "good enough" job and worked well with other workers in my house when they painted, but work that was in the contract wasn't done during the initial job. After the follow up to clean up drip spills, and after inquiring about the exterior hardy boards I paid for to be replaced, but weren't, Shane kept scheduling his guys to come out, but every time, they never showed. Shane also acknowledged multiple times (in a voicemail I've saved) that he owes me money because he didn't adjust the final payment to reflect a room from the invoice they didn't paint (since they were a week later than initially scheduled, I painted it myself). My final voicemail to Shane was Sept 17th (over 3 months since work was done initially) was asking him to simply put the check in my mail box and I didn't want any more broken promises. No surprise that no check showed up and no phone call came from Shane (although, the no phone call part is a bit of a surprise because before he always called back to make more promises he ultimately doesn't keep). Don't be fooled by his faux communication, you will be left in the lurch. read more

We hired them to paint our entire condo, walls, ceiling, baseboards, closets. We had to change our dates several times and had no problems. On the date they were to start the arrived on time with a crew of 4 to 6 guys. They were done in 2 days and did an excellent job. We would highly recommend them to anyone. H & H Painting is one of the best companies I've ever done business with. Shane, the owner, is extremely knowledgeable and very responsive. I had almost my entire interior painted last week, including all the ceilings, trim and doors. I have a very large home -- 3200 sq ft--and miles of trim, base boards, crown molding and wainscoting. Every square inch was meticulously painted. The team of painters Shane sent were insanely prompt (to the minute), very accommodating, and excellent communicators throughout. I work from home and I'm frequently on calls. They went out of their way to ensure I was not disturbed. My husband and I are thrilled (to the point of giddy) with the result. We feel like we got a brand new house and didn't even have to move! Shane checked in daily to make sure we were happy and asked if we had any questions or needed anything. He is a rare business owner who delivers a very high quality product at a more than fair price. These are the highly desired qualities you want in your painter. But what makes him stand out more than anything is his character. He's over-the-top honest and 150% transparent. When I signed my contract for X work, I expected X work--but Shane delivered X+++. Hiring H & H was a huge mistake! We hired this company for our basement renovation and I regret it every day. This should have been a 5-6 week project, but it's now been 5 MONTHS and it's still not finished. The owner, Shane, has now disappeared with our money and won't answer any calls, texts or emails. Their "designer," Liz, didn't help us pick a single item for our renovation, despite her design fee being part of the contract. The sub-contractors failed to cover up a hole above our storage closet and sprayed paint over everything inside the closet. They broke a piece of our toilet and then dumped the shattered pieces inside another closet, instead of telling us about it. It's like pulling teeth to get the workers to show up and when they do, they ask me what they should be doing. I am not the contractor and shouldn't have to tell people how to do their job. This project was mismanaged from day one. Now, the owner won't finish the job and won't even give us the courtesy of a response to our many calls and emails. read more
