I usually don't have luck at the other H&M locations in Northern California, especially compared to the locations in the LA area. This store Nor-Cal location is definitely an exception. This store is packed with lots of variety and great deals. I was so busy in the women's section that I didn't even have a chance to check out the kids section. This is quite unlike me! I'll have to stop by their kids section next time for sure! H&M usually has gorgeous kids clothing that is high quality. My only top for their kids clothing is to keep in mind their sixes run large. I do have to mention that I really appreciate how the cashier gave me a tip on how to get 30% off my purchase for that day. I ended up saving a fortune! read more

Extremely inefficient cashier. After waiting in line I get in line to learn I need to login to their app instead of using wallet to access a coupon. So to be considerate to folks in line I stepped aside and logged on only to be told I had to get back in line which had 15 people. I guess I should just stand in front of the cashier and wait to login. They need to train their employees to keep things moving. read more

H&M has cute clothes for kids (though I've never found anything I like for myself), but it's hard to get behind their poor customer experience. I bought some clothes at this location recently. I went to return a shirt a few days later. Unfortunately, I lost the receipt. I had hoped (assumed, really) that they'd be able to look up my purchase using my credit card, like pretty much every other large retailer is able to easily do these days. The girl who helped me told me that their POS system is, well, a POS, and it's not able to pull up purchases by credit card. I appreciated that she offered me the option to exchange it for something else. I didn't have time to shop so asked if I could a store credit instead. She again said nope, H&M "stopped doing store credits." Huh?? Again, no other retailer simply refuses to give a store credit. read more

Watch out for the deceptive sale ! They are advertising all coats and sweaters 30% off and when you check out they say fluffy waist length coats are not included, " they are a jacket ". I could've used some patience from the employees because I still had to double check the sizes on everything and there was no dressing room. This is a place that I don't go to for clothing much, because it is quite cheap (in price and quality). At least that was the case 15+ years ago when I used to go in. But, I didn't look at the clothing. It was the accessories that got me. The $5 purse that lasted 10+ years, the belts, socks, etc. It was a win. But that's not the case anymore. This place has nothing to wear and nothing to offer, accessory wise. So it was a wasted trip! Trash. Ordered something at this store that was supposedly in stock. Not fulfilled for a week. Get an email saying it was canceled. Called headquarters for the 5th time. Told me it's back in stock and order it again. But can't give me another discount code so I'd have to order, tell them so they can manually price adjust, then wait another day or two to process. Same day pick up my ass. And not being in stock is a lie. I've called many days in a row, headquarter confirmed that the store had items in stock, tried to call the store multiple days but this store never picked up. Horrible system all around. I understand it was the holidays but the least you can do is keep your customers informed. I have been trying to make a return on a purchase I made before Christmas and every time they were closed. I finally got the chance to make my return. I had my original receipt and the card that I used to make the purchase. ALTHOUGH NO WHERE printed under their return policy online or on the back of the receipt...the cashier informed me that he is unable to process my return UNLESS I also log into my H&M account. This is absolutely the most ridiculous request and of course your store has NO SERVICE. ...H&M YOU ARE THE ONLY RETAIL STORE THAT REQUIRES their customers to have the original receipt, original card used for purchase and be logged into your H&M account in order for your team to process a refund. This is so inconvenient especially to your members who only signed up in the first place for the benefits you promise. Please don't go here. Just buy online and save your gas. H&M in Walnut Creek has no dressing rooms available. Meaning the staff of more than 20 + store employees are roaming around and very unwilling to open a single space for you to try on their over priced recycled cotton T-shirts. And when you beg and plead to try on a piece of clothing or ask why there is no space open for this service the in-store attendants one by one berate you with statements such as: "Why are people asking for dressing rooms. It's been like this since COVID. Get use to it. Move on." "It's so annoying people ask for a dressing room." "There are chairs blocking the dressing room entryway sir. How more clear can we make it...you cannot come to this H&M store and try clothes on." Wow... very rude and cruel responses. I'd much rather give my business to Zara, Express, Banana Republic, Macys or Nordstrom's (all these businesses have dressing rooms and employees willing to speak to someone with human kindness.) You CANNOT find a more berating and demeaning customer service experience if you tried. I truly hope I save, if just one person, from the pain of shopping at H&M. Never again. read more

Today was my first time visiting this location. The store was well put together but not all of the staff were welcoming. It was hard to find the correct cashier location because they have one upstairs and downstairs placed towards the back of the store. The manager repeatedly walked past me when she saw me waiting near her to ask a question. She was currently speaking to another employee so I was patient because I know how working in retail can be. Once I received assistance from one of the associates upstairs she checked with manager to see if I can get a price match on an item I found on H&M online and she approved it & stated I can get an additional 10% off if signing up for their membership program. So I proceeded to go to checkout and tried to explain that to the cashier she cut me off while I was speaking and said "No we can't do that." Even as i proceeded to tell her that I got permission from the manager. She still refused to even double check with management. But it's okay I placed my order online and I won't be visiting this location anymore. I am very appreciative to the sales associate that helped me upstairs though. read more

He said sorry we have an emergency meeting. I walked out and seconds later a white blonde hair woman walked in. He let her in and she completed her return as I sat there watching outside the window. I usually have to mix and match what ever I find at H&M. This location is always organized. Usually out of my size but that's OK because there is always something else to replace the thing that they were out of. I just really love H&M. I couldn't be the snazzy well dressed woman I am with out H&M. This trip I got a pair of Aviator Glasses. I have never owned any and really just want to wear them around the house. I also got the cutest gray dress. One of those slim pencil dresses. I wore it the next day and got two compliments on how goooooood I looked. God I love you H&M. The cashier also informed me that they are going to sell bathing suits. I have never seen bathing suits here but with my recent 10lb weight loss you just might see this booty in one. When I first walked in I was overwhelmed by what looked like an unorganized mess. After being convinced to stay a little bit longer, and moving upstairs, I ended up finding really great deals for my dad and little brother. On the floor service was non-existent but all registers were open, helping the lines move quickly. Oh, I'd like to say that there was no clear area for a line to form so it might behove the store to put some stickers on the ground or something so customers know where to stand--with three registers open it's easy for three lines to form, creating an annoying mess if someone is waiting longer on one end compared to another line with a different cashier. I'd rather shop online for H&M items than going in store. It's just too much of a messy headache to find your size/item in mounds, but the guy's area was really well organized so that was nice. I'm so glad there is a two-story H&M here in the east bay. Yes, it is definitely better than the H&M at Sunvalley Mall. My sis has an interview for pharmacy school. Granted that she just graduated last year, and they allow jeans to be worn at her current job, her wardrobe consists of: jeans, jeans, a couple of slacks (one too big, one too small), T-shirts, dresses for clubbing. Um...yeah. She tells me, her budget is $100 for a suit. I'm dumbfounded. Ok, this is gonna be a challenge. We found out about this H&M store from the cashier at the H&M Concord, because, they simply don't have anymore stock of the grey pinstripe suit that my sis wanted to get. I'm so glad we went to this one and we should have gone to this one in the first place if we knew about it. We buy the suit and toss in a light blue polo shirt, (blue:calming color. She will need it on the big day) for a grand total of $113. Wow. She's happy. As for me, the accessories at H&M are a hit. Scarves, cheap handbags, sunglasses, hair clips, and other trinkets, don't hesitate to buy it. For the clothes, it could be a hit or miss. Inspect with a fine toothed combed. Sheesh! I took my 16 year-old son to H & M to buy an outfit for Homecoming and was extremely disappointed by the following: No employees to be found anywhere upstairs in the men's area. Upstairs fitting room closed. Lame selection of sizes. Hardly anything in-store that is shown online. Questionable quality - even for the price. What a shitty store. A nice little 2 story H&M that's a little more busy than most due to the young crowd that invades the mall shopping center. There are either old people or young people, tourists and families fill in the rest. Prices and selection are right where they keep things nationally, but what's great is the sizing. Turns out this part of California has less men my size buying up everything. Score for me. The joint dressing rooms are a wreck. 5 rooms upstairs and the wait is 20 minutes because some people shop like inefficient indecisive non committals. I just wanted to know if I was a medium or large in their new cut. Regular fit is slim, slim is skinny and skinny is anorexic. Anorexia is not a joke, but my point has been made. I do like their sweater/caridgans, but the colors are terrible this time of year. Service was non existent with 1 gal barely speaking English, 1 guy texting on his phone while I waited for him to finish. No one with a nametag to tell if they worked there or not. I've been to the H&M's in New York and in SF, and yes they are bigger and have a huge selection. But they are usually crowded and crazy to shop and their dressing room lines are ridiculous. But I really enjoy WC, it's got a nice selection (though I wish it had more of the accessories) and it makes for a stress-free shopping experience. They seem to have a fair range of sizes, though sometimes that top or jacket I fall in love with will be all gone in the size I need. But then I could go and check out Sun Valley if I've really got to have it. I've shopped here many times and the clerks are very friendly and helpful. Sometimes I'm willing to give up the huge volume for a little piece of mind....Thanx H&M for tucking in this nice little store in WC! read more

I love all the winter coats and jackets that come out in the colder months. I like searching through H&M for great deals, and really wanted to find one that I was willing to shell out the money to buy...but they didn't have my size. :[ They also have a couple really cute blazers that I'd love to own, but can't justify spending money for. This is a typical H&M. It's pretty big and they have a decent men's section. I guess it seems that most H&M's have mostly women's clothes. With all H&M's, however, you pay low prices for low quality--which is fine if you just need something for work. For anything else, I would definitely not recommend shopping at H&M. Everyone is gonna be wearing what you are, weak. Every time I go here there's high school kids being annoying. That's pretty annoying. Otherwise, great location in Walnut Creek! Yeah. Customer service here is horrible. I never can find anyone upstairs in the women's area. I would have to go all the way downstairs to the cashiers if I needed anything. Not to mention, there is always a line at the register. But today, I was the next in line (maybe because everyone was still in school or something). It was kinda dead in there. Anyways, I wanted two jackets I saw online and was hoping I can find it in the store since the return policy for online items can't be returned to the store. I found the camo print jacket I wanted but needed this black parka too and since I couldn't find it upstairs or downstairs, I decided to ask the cashier anyways if they carried it. I showed her the picture on my phone and she took a look at it. Then replied with, "Did you check upstairs?" I said Yeah, I didn't see it up there. I played hookey from work yesterday and got my shop on at the Broadway Plaza. After going to the Powell street location a few months back, this location is way nicer! Of course I went during a quiet time since it was a non-weekend, but I loved the fact that there wasn't any long lines or crowds of people. I found a bunch of cute stuff, a few sweaters, a few cardigans, and even a cute black dress for my hot dates. All for under $200, yay! read more

It's bigger than the one on Bay Street ... it's multiple stories ... I didn't even make it upstairs. They have a ton of size 6's ... and 12's ... but it's hard to find anything else in between. Another annoyance was that styles weren't well organized and grouped together. I'd find a black and khaki jacket on one rack ... but then the exact same style in another color 4 racks away. We went Labor Day weekend, and I didn't have to wait for a dressing room ... the one on Bay Street takes 15-20 minutes on busy weekends to get a room. read more
