Not only was the communication regarding appointments non-existent (I waited for an hour with zero updates from the staff), but the "prepared" work was never done. They stated I owed $1,800, then asked if I wanted to claim my child as a dependent? (of course) that gave me a refund. ​The most frustrating part was the pricing: the $400 to $500 quote turned into a $640 bill. It's a disorganized operation that relies on last-minute price hikes. honestly if you have to go in person for your tax services - just go somewhere else. I've been doing my taxes through their website for years and everything went well. This year my taxes got a little more complicated so I booked an appointment to come in and get help. I specifically chose this location because of the good reviews but don't be fooled like how I was! The receptionist, Priscilla was nice but Armando (her manager and the man I had an appointment with) was something else. I had asked him a simple question of whether to upload a specific document or if it was not needed. He immediately went into mansplaining that they don't do taxes there - they only hire tax professionals and cannot give me legal advice. I had explained to him (the proclaimed "tax professional" working at H&R Block) that H&R block is a known tax company and I had been doing my taxes with them online for years so I know that they do taxes here and can offer help otherwise I wouldn't have booked an appointment. Then I said how I wasn't sure if he understood my question because it was about uploading a form so I clarified again and he said well it's different online so if you want to upload it, you can. Like sir you are supposed to be my tax professional doing my taxes - do you need the form or not? When I finally do finish uploading the documents online (something they only made me do and everyone else who came in during that time wasn't required and helped immediately despite me having the physical copies), this random lady who works there (she never introduced herself) came up to me and told me it was gonna be $450 just to file!! At this point, I was irritated because I wasted all this time (about 40 minutes due to their slow internet) uploading all these documents for an outrageous price!! When I explained this to the lady that this was not the price I was given before (starting at $125 for me according to the website and I was later given another estimate of $213 while uploading documents) the lady said that $125 is the base rate to file and goes up as it becomes more complicated. I'm really not sure if the employees know what they're doing there because my taxes were not complicated enough for it to go up $375 from the original price for a few documents!! After these two encounters, I realized this was not the place for me and left. Mind you that my owed taxes ended up being less than half of what they were charging so it was definitely not worth it. moral of the story: you can find someone cheaper and more knowledgeable somewhere else - don't be scammed. read more

Very unhappy with my experience. I paid $150 for IRS transcripts that are free and available on the IRS website itself. I was left with the impression that the owner of this location would do more for me. I let him know my needs and why I was coming in. As I dig deeper into the paperwork provided I see that they in fact did not help me nor answer any of my questions. I'm very unhappy.. I was at a prior H&R Block location and was told different information and relayed this to him.. he states the other person is wrong or that I am mistaken. At the end of the day I paid for a service and they provided it (transcripts) but I'm very unhappy. I didn't know I was paying for something that I can access for free. I was under the assumption that I was being taken care of and that they wanted to help me get my first two stimulus checks that I HAVE NOT RECEIVED just as bad as I wanted them. So much back and forth.. I don't understand why it was so difficult for him to answer my questions. I'm not crass.. I'm pragmatic.. Here I am looking at the IRS website and it says I have only received the third payment not the first two but the owner would like to argue with me.. who am I? I had a good experience when, I walked in this morning. I didn't know H&R did fingerprints as well. Thats what my visit was for. I walked in and immediately was greeted by the manager, he was very welcoming and a jokester too. One of the girls helped me, (regrettably, I didn't catch her name) she was super friendly and answered questions, I had. After receiving a letter from the IRS about a missing form, I was having trouble understanding how to fill out the form requested. I made an appointment at this location and upon arriving was told they'd have to redo my entire tax return for a fee. When I asked why my taxes would have to be completely redone, I was told for my question to be answered I'd be charged a $45 consultation fee on top of the fee to get my taxes redone. I asked again why my taxes would have to be completely redone and I was met with a long, confrontational speech about how it costs them money to pay their lease and pay for the H&R Block programs because they are a franchisee. I never once scoffed at the fee, but I did state that I feel this should've been mentioned when I made the appointment online. I would not recommend this location. read more

Made an appointment in advance to come do taxes here and get some information. We were called half an hour before our appointment to move it an hour later so that a supervisor could be there I guess. We got there 10 min early and were told he was running 15 min late which was fine. We ended up waiting over an hour and the poor girl there seemed so embarrassed and kept apologizing. We eventually just left cause we had just been sitting waiting and basically had wasted 2 hours of our day. And now we still have to get our tax situation sorted out. One of the worst customer experiences I have ever had and I feel bad for the poor girl who was forced to sit there and keep apologizing for her no show supervisor to come do the taxes. read more
