I called this location to ask about just a consultation that would take maybe less than 10 min. and they scheduled an appt. for me for 5pm. The receptionist was very friendly so I gave a Star for that otherwise there would be no stars. He told me that there might be a charge for the consultation, it might be zero, but probably $30-$100. I said that it would probably only take 5 min. if even that. He said it would be up to the tax preparer. So I said okay thinking there is no way they would charge me more than $25-$30 just to review a letter and docs I already printed out. I came in at 5, they were behind, no problem, I wasn't in a hurry. So I was taken back at 5:20, and told the tax preparer that it would be super quick because I had already filed my taxes online and just needed her to make sure that I was sending the correct docs to the IRS that they were asking for in the letter they sent me. Gave her a copy of the letter and the docs I printed out-she looked at it for literally less than 30 seconds, and asked me if I filed it already, I said yes, I just want to make sure these are the correct docs to send to them. She said I need to generate the 8962 form, I corrected her and said, no, I already filed that, they are asking me for these forms, I just want to make sure that this is all I need to send. So she looks at them again, says she will be right back-goes to the front, for I don't know what, and comes back and says okay, this is what you need to send yes, that is correct, and a copy of the letter. I'm going to have to charge you $50 okay? I ask nicely-for just that? I don't need you to file anything just to look at those docs and she says yes, $50. She was difficult to understand for one-not a big deal really, but I hope that she understood what I asked. Anyway, I say that I guess if that's what she has to charge, but she literally took maybe 4 min total. If even that. I'm in my car at 5:26, after she created an invoice and I had to pay at the front. So yes, from 5:20 when she took me back to sitting in my car at 5:26. So less than 4 min she spent with me and I had to pay $50 for what exactly?? They charge $89 I believe to file for you‍ It was a 1040 & one page letter she skimmed and looked at papers I had printed for a second and that's it. So the receptionist who made my appt. asked how it went, and I replied it was literally like 2 min. she spent, answered a question and made an invoice & I get charged $50??! For what really? She just answered a question. He just kind of awkwardly laughed since there's nothing he can do. I will not be coming back here or recommending their services to anyone. What a dang rip-off. For someone trying to save money I paid $50. But I'm the fool here I guess. Ugh. read more

I should have read the reviews before coming here. We used to come to this location for many years and had the same tax preparer who we liked. Unfortunately, the last couple of years I've been coming to a lady who really doesn't explain much to me and so I never fully understand what is happening or why as well as how we can get a better result when it comes to our taxes. For the amount you pay to have tax preparation services, it would be nice to have an expert who can give professional advice and let you know what's going on. We'll likely find a different branch and tax expert next time. Also, I keep going on Saturdays and I think many of their top staff are there during the week so we'll try that next time, too. read more

Terrible service and rude staff. Will not recommend. The person assigned to me was a senior tax advisor. He incorrectly prepared my tax return, missing a bunch of forms. After explaining the missing forms and deductions, he refused to make any adjustments. When I said I didn't want to file the return he had prepared, he started shouting at me and asked me to leave the premises. Ended up using another service that doubled my tax refund amount and correctly filed it. Return has been verified and approved by the IRS. read more

I have been using this office and same tax pro to file my taxes for almost 5 years now. The specific tax pro have gotten very busy lately. My calls and questions over last year left un-answered. I can understand why some of the reviews are for 1 star, they don't have full-time receptionist. And this location is staffed with HR Block trained tax advisors and not CPAs like some other locations that I've went to in the past. But overall, it's now fairly digital and automated in terms of gathering data inputs. I noticed HR Block did some updates since my last returns in 2013, it's more thorough versus some of the DIY platforms like TurboTax. However, I do still prefer to do my own but this year was full of life events. Like buying and selling investment homes including my primary residence, switching jobs, buying cars, etc.. versus just filing W-2 and going for standard deductions. So I needed another pair of eyes to make sure I did everything correct. My advisor was Jennifer, she's very thorough and helped me organize everything and also made me critically think about how to maximize deductions. Only minus one star, since appointments are only 1 hour increments, so if you plan to take more than that, you will need to plan schedule follow-up appointments. But you can do that on the spot with the advisor. Slightly inconvenient but it allows you to run home and grab that missing 1099 or 1098. If you need a CPA or doing more complex LLC returns then you should go somewhere else. Good luck with your tax returns! read more

I was assigned to an associate that I felt knew less than I did about taxes. I have limited income and he was asking about deductions . Like I would have more than the standard deduction, which by the way he did not know off the top of his head. No accounting degree. I had the worst experience ever. Last year was good, but it was in another office by a different person. Did not different offices had different ratings. The guy John I saw did not say one word to me. Then he said I have to pay 35% in gains tax which was wrong! I knew I needed to see someone else so asked for an extension asked what the penalty was and he said, *"I don't know look on Google"... Um your the tax professional shouldn't they know???. He also gave me wrong info on doing the extension! Wtf? This was worse experience ever. I will never go back. read more

I have been with HR block for 3 years and this is the first time I try this location. Frank here sucks. Very unprofessional and I have a very bad customer experience. You have to pay him once he started to review your tax file. And you have to agree to pay him even before he told you how much you will pay. read more

I went to this H&R Block location for a TSA-Pre enrollment. I showed up at 5pm, and they close at 6pm. There were only three people waiting, and it takes 10 minutes per appointment, so there was plenty of room in the schedule to help one more person. The person at the desk was very rude and unhelpful. He refused to help me even though there were only three people waiting, and there was still an hour before closing. I think he just wanted to go home early. If you want to use H&R Block, I suggest finding a location where people are more helpful. read more

Extremely disappointed today. I have been getting my taxes done with HnR for the 4th year and this was an extremely disappointing experience. John Hancock prepared my taxes. He didn't explain or ask anything. First he struggled with finding some form and looked frustrated and kept sighing loudly. Then he called in a colleague and they figured it out which is alright but then the receptionist walked in to let him know that his next appointment was here so then he started hurrying up. He couldn't care less if he was missing out anything or if he has all my information correct. He said he is done and I was like did you file my HSA information? Because I remember that the accountants usually have some question about it. Then he was like "oh you have an HSA account?". He looked like he wanted to get me the least return as possible. I thought these accountants get paid to get us the maximum return. He didn't file any of my tuition expenses or anything. I do not recommend this accountant to anyone, this branch might have other accountants but I am extremely disappointed and I will totally look for a different firm and accountant next year. read more

I do not recommend this place it is very expensive and the accountants do not have experience. To avoid problems go to a different place. My taxes where not filled correctly and I am in serious issues with the IRS thanks to them. read more

I would give this place zero if it were an option. First of all the receptionist was very tearse and rude from the beginning. I made an appt online for TSA Pre-Check and could not find the location because nowhere did it say the office was an H&R Block. Three other people came in and said they had a hard time finding the place. My appt was at 1110. I was 15 minutes late due to the above. She said I was outside their 10 minute leeway and would now be at the bottom of the list. Who argues with their customers? Don't waste your time or energy. Horrible. read more

The actual TAX service was very good, its the admin side that is terrible. My credit card was billed 2 times for the same amount over two months.
