For the past ten years, I've dreaded tax season because we're in a higher tax bracket. We used to go to another accounting agency, but over time we noticed they weren't really taking the time to thoroughly go over everything with us, and their fees kept increasing. Enter Ramos Tax Service. Although they do not take scheduled appointments, the process was still very easy. They have parking available, and once we checked in, I believe our wait was only about 20 to 30 minutes, which honestly was not bad at all. They even had snacks available while we waited. Once we were called, Noemi was incredibly friendly and helpful. Even though we ended up owing taxes, she took the time to carefully review everything with us, which definitely eased some of the sting. She also gave us very helpful suggestions for next year to help minimize what we may owe. And their fees? Very reasonable. Do I recommend Ramos Tax Service? Absolutely.

Luckily they accept walk ins. I signed in about 1040am and got called around 130pm. Mrs. Ramos was quick and kind. Seems like when I got to her all of my information was inputted into her computer. Might've been her assistant that sat next to her helped her input all the info's, to speed up the process. I sat with Mrs. Ramos for about 10 minutes and I was done. The outcome of my tax return was not the outcome I wanted but oh well. It is what it is. I feel no matter what, taxes is always owed on my part. They charged $150 for service which I think is fair, based on what others are charging to do taxes now days. If you do decide to come here, expect to wait. They do have a lot of clients and new clients as well, based on my observation while I sat and waited. The waiting area is clean and comfortable. They provide snacks to purchase, cost is about a dollar each. Parking can be a little difficult, as they have about 6-8 stalls in front of their office. I believe you could also park on the street and walk over. Location is right across the street from Honowai elementary. Not sure if I'll return next year, but I'm glad I gave them a chance and I'm glad they took me in as a walk in because I needed to get my taxes done ASAP.

Sadly he was no longer actively running it so we got the hand off to the kid. It started with some up front dialogue on getting started; jump on his portal for communications, uploads etc, add then to approving him for access banking, GET taxes and some other areas. All the typical new CPA working so fun prep steps. Then comes the long long gap of communications. To be exact zero replies on multiple emails requesting support and guidance on his own portal. When monthly GET was due we had no trust it was being handled, as it was not. So we paid it ourselves then emailing, reaching out but again Reyn decided to do it last minute without telling us. So now we've paid twice. Weeks months pass and more zero contact we are running our business not thinking about it which is sole purpose of this relationship from start as an owner my plate is overflowing with to do's, until another month the two and more lack of transparency lack of replies to countless messages about credit cards Quickbooks and so on. Terrible management. Now knee deep into mid year and no trust this guy has done a single thing for us (as had not) since double paying our GET. Sadly we are now back to square one and bookkeeping backed up so so much more. It's sad to feel this was so frustrated with a CPA. Especially of which was referred from a local and respected banker back in the day who knew his father personally. I suggest stay far from this CPA. Sometimes hard work and building a business from scratch you respect your clients you communicate with your valuable clients, not ignore them. Pick up a phone Reyn make a phone call. Reply when a letter has been written to you. Take responsibility. Well that's where entitlement comes in in our eyes with Reyn. He likely has no idea what it takes to build something from scratch and all the hard work to do so. If he did he'd know the importance of transparency and good communications.

Our session took about 45mins but that was fault of my own I should have gotten all my previous paperwork printed and ready for the preparer but Definitely will do that next time. I didn't feel rushed or anything we were able to file our taxes and received our returns under 2 weeks!!! I am absolutely disappointed in this company and have had my taxes done by other professionals. Extreme lack of communication, their online system means I have to do a lot of work to put in my tax information, then they can't follow simple instructions to file. No communication on whether they filed extensions when they did not complete/file on time. I gave all of my information in advance of the deadline and they didn't file my taxes because our invoice was due. (An invoice that was never sent to us and no communication that it was over due). You should trust that your taxes professional has it all covered. It's what you pay for and I don't think we received any value for the over $1000 we paid for our very simple tax returns. They refuse to review the errors in filing as we got a notice that our bank account was wrong for the direct deposit and have not even confirmed that my taxes were filed. The response was "it's whatever you gave us" and that we need to fix it ourselves. What kind of service is that? To date I have no communication on a simple question of if my taxes were filed as the IRS does not have a status on my taxes return. Please help yourself in avoiding the stress of taxes and go to someone that will treat you professionally.
