Back in the Los Angeles area and went to the H&R Block office on Western and Slauson. The rep. that worked with me is named Dorista Franklin. This sister is very knowledgeable and explains step by step, the process of the "long form." Doris also has a F/T "day" job, so a lot of her appointments are booked for the evenings which is fine because I work during the day with a F/T employ. For years, I had a CPA that did services for me as well as other family members. However, H&R Block alerts you on a timely basis when to expect a refund (if any) and when the refund lands in your bank account. The service is good and I recommend it to others. read more

These people do not even explain what they are charging you as they do it. They just charge you all sorts of fees and do not review them with you until you have signed all the paperwork. Make sure you ask them what they are going to charge you in total because they will leave out pieces of information that are important to your final cost for preparing your taxes. Please take care of them elsewhere like turbo tax. You are able to do for yourself what these people charge you $200 for. I do not recommend this place to anyone. They are expensive very expensive. read more

I loved it here. It was my first time doing taxes and as soon as I walked in , I was greeted by friendly employees and smiling faces. I felt that they actually wanted to help me and that I wasn't just a typical client to them. This office is the only office I plan to do my taxes , specifically done by Angelica as she knew how to talk to a client and make them feel comfortable. The process was quick and being a first-timer, she explained everything to me and answered any questions I had. I have already recommended this location, and Angelica, to many of my coworkers and family members. In addition, the customer service was not the only thing that exceeded my expectations. The clean and well-organized office showed how they take their job seriously. Do not hesitate on visiting this location to do your taxes or to simply ask any questions one may have. Am sitting inside this h&r block, I have been waiting for more than 30min. I made an appointment for 6...the Hispanic receptionist is simply unable to manage customer flow. Random people have passed before me multiple times.... Estimated time hr 1:30, bless her heart, lol "A"for effort, but she might want to consider a different profession. Probably one of the best offices I've been to, this is my second year filing with Angelica, my tax pro, the manager she was extremely friendly and funny. She explained everything thoroughly, I am very confident about my return thanks to her I have no doubts. The receptionist Kathy was so funny and nice. Never again will I go to any HR Block. I went to the one on Slauson first and waited for almost 40mins (I was the only one in the waiting area) before leaving and going to the one on Vermont across from the middle school. They called me in right away. The manager told me that the person that the person that specializes in the form that I need is at the Slauson office and she will take my paperwork to her. Thanks right. Wrong. They had my information for days. I called to find out what was going on and left a message. No return call. My daughter went to prom Saturday, so I called on Sunday and left another message. No return call. After five hours I called back and was told that she could not do the my taxes because it was complicated. I asked why didn't anyone call to let me know that. Her response was I don't know. HR Block will not see me again. I can't deal with the lack of professionalism. read more

As soon as you walk into this office you feel welcome the receptionist greets you with a warm smile and they immediately notice you when you walk in. The receptionist Teresa & Delmy were so great they offer me coffee tea and water they brought everything to me. I felt like I was the king with all the attention they gave and once I was with my Tax Proffessional Angelica she again ask if I needed anything, she always makes me feel at ease. She always remembers me and makes me feel like family, she is very detailed, she knows her stuff when it comes to taxes she is polite.friendly and makes taxes seem like a breeze. I have been following her for the past 5 years since the 1st year she helped me with my taxes in 201. She has moved offices and I always follow her where she goes. I dont mind driving because she is very attentive and very detailed. Her staff are all very friendly and always willing to help. My mother has gone to this place before and she loved it here she is the one who told me to come here. But my experience was totally the opposite 2/4/2016 ...of my mother i had a horrible experience due the supervisor of this location. She continued to tell me through out the process of my application how she was going to report me to the IRS, and interrogating me the entire time, i told her my sources of income i gave her my W-2's..... I then began to tell her why iwas getting so little cause my mother had claimed my brother for taxes since she did help him last year for school and was getting a bit more (she could have said well its because of the amount you made and left it at that, but she was saying i will report you to the irs) i paid to go back into school, and she said " your brother is older than you, for you to be claiming him" like what does that have to do with me claiming him!? my brother only goes to college and i have to work and study since i have a child, but i do help out my brother. it has been a tough year on me, and she literally wants to act like she knows my entire life and kept saying " im going to have to report this to the irs and it will be red flagged" i told her i had evidence of everything i was saying. And at the end i did not feel comfortable of her doing my taxes so i told her to stop the process and that i would think about it over night. before we left the H&R block the father of my son went back to tell her to not process the application (because i had told him i don't want her to do them at all) and she told him "okay, but im stilling going to report it to the irs" i Really think this woman is not a professional at all and she needs to get trained again because she is setting a bad example for H&R block. I understand if i am low income and what not but to be threatening to report me, and she DID not say it once or twice but a ton of times was wrong of her. I have a witness of who heard everything. I decided to take my business elsewhere and i did!! and i was informed by many people that it was unprofessional of that SUPERVISOR to have kept threatning me to the irs.
