Receptionist collected all my paperwork and offered me water as I wait. I worked directly with Tracy Xu who did a great job filing my 2019 taxes and preparing amendments on behalf of me for previous years. His professional excellence and patience helped me save thousands of dollars from mistakes in my past filings that should have been returned to me. If you are looking for a trustworthy and experienced accountant at a reasonable price to save you money, you do not have to look further! I sold my house in Arizona for a big loss back in 2014, and my former accountant made a mistake and did not get me a large sum of money that I'm entitled to, over $18,000 to be exact. During my filing for 2017 return with Mr. Li, he spotted the error and worked with me for long hours to sort out a pile of years of my past tax returns. To be honest it was a mess, but throughout the whole thing Mr. Li did not lose his patience one bit and really spent the time to analyze my situation and worked on how to amend the mistakes. Only with his detailed explanation during this tedious process did I start to see the complexity of the NOL (Net Operating Loss) that carries across multiple years and how the mistakes were made and affected me. Eventually he helped me file two amendments, one to the State of CA requesting a return of over $5,000 and another to Federal for over $13,000. So far, I have received the state return and am still waiting for the federal return. My taxes may have been filed correctly, but the communication was not clear. I did not want 2026 quarterly estimated tax payments set up, and I never understood that this was what was happening. I believed the amounts shown were a payment plan for my 2025 taxes, not separate 2026 estimated payments. Because of the language barrier and the lack of a clear explanation, I did not understand what I was agreeing to. As a result, more money was taken from my account than I expected, which caused me to become overdrafted. When I reached out to get help resolving the issue, I was hoping they would at least acknowledge the misunderstanding and try to make it right in some way. Instead, when I spoke with William at the end, he was very unhelpful and basically made me feel like I was just out of luck. I was told there was nothing they could do, that I needed to deal with my bank myself to block future payments, and that they would not offer even a partial refund. That response is a big part of why I decided to leave this review. If they had simply handled the miscommunication better, shown some understanding, and at least offered a partial refund or some effort to make things right, I honestly think I would have been okay. On top of that, I feel the $700 fee was too high for the level of service and communication I received. Accuracy is important, but so is making sure your client actually understands what is being filed and what payments are being set up. Overall, I left this experience feeling confused, unsupported, and financially stressed. I understand mistakes can happen, but the way this was handled afterward was unacceptable. Winnes Wong and her assistant made a huge mistake saying my parents lost a whole bunch of money in their business and investments when my parents actually made money. (bad accounting on her part, and bad tax filing) When I brought this up, instead of admitting her mistake, she pretended to be legit and talking herself out of the situation, and then blamed my parents' investment rep for not doing a good job. I only found this out when the investment rep showed me the mistake Winnes made. It was clearly her mistake. As if that's not bad enough, Winnes recommended them to her friend to do some investments, and parents lost money with this guy, but Winnes was trying to cover up for him. She probably got some kickback from her friend. So suspicious. Thank God I was home for the holidays and found out what happened. Too sad that my parents just trusted her all these years because she speaks Chinese and thinking she was doing a good job but who knows what other mistakes she has made, and how many other people she has fooled. Such a shame for the Chinese community.
