You work directly with him and not some jr. accountant so he knows you from year-to-year. He also notifies me on a regular basis of items such as payroll forms that need to be submitted so I don't get behind on filing forms that could get me in trouble if I neglect them. Taxes are complicated, but I've also gotten a nice refund every year as he really knows how to identify all of the tax deductions that I'm eligible for that I would never know about otherwise. I can't guarantee everyone else would do as well on the refunds, but he really finds all of the deductions and fills out all of the appropriate forms which are typically a pain in the ass to fill out. My typical tax returns which he prepares for me usually end up over 30 pages each year because I have my own business so it's not something I want to prepare myself each year. He's also very reasonable and fair about his pricing as he has low overhead even though he has a nice professional office. Previously, I was with another accounting firm who charged an arm-and-a-leg and shuffled me between jr. accountants each year so I never really got to know the CPA partner or felt like I was getting my money's worth. Having David as my accountant is kind of like knowing that one local car mechanic who really knows his stuff, fixes it right the first time and doesn't rip you off because he's really honest. After you've been ripped off by the dealer's service center or franchised service station, you're really thankful that you've found the guy who could do you right! I don't give out 5 stars lightly, but David's a good person to work with and others that I have recommended him to have also stayed with him for many years and they've thanked me for the recommendation. Last year they charged me $50.00 for one of them, but this year the price went up to $135.00 without a reason even though it was a simple 1040 form. When I asked as to why such a big increase the lady at the front tried to help but Mrs Haynes came from around the back and told me that in her office customers were not allowed to question pricing and that I wasn't welcome there anymore. Anyone thinking of doing business with her make sure to ask for upfront pricing or better yet get someone else to do your taxes.
