The Pharmacy is amazing.. My daughter had surgery and needed her prescription filled by a certain time.. Well after going to Walgreens (it wasn't in stock) .. I went to HEB #6 needless to say not a good experience... Instead of helping me she tells me that my prescription doesnt come it that dose.. Well I had to leave a go somewhere else.. I ended up at HEB #25 and the staff there was amazing... I was stressed out and they explained my insurance does cover that dose. When they where explaining it to me the Pharmacist was are ready on the phone to our doctors office fixing the problem and saving the night... She received her meds on time.. HEB is a Texas tradition. You can get all the ethic foods you want plus everything else, parking is sometimes a hassle, but the selection of produce and groceries is unmatched. If this isn't your go to grocery store it should be. Some organic options available as well, not like Whole Foods though. read more

With all the heb locations out there why does everyone have to set up differently? Do you realize how hard that is on consumers?

Nice store over all. I wAs able to find employees to help me find it's I was having a hard time locating. Some of the items like ricotta cheese is in an odd place. I am use to it being with the cream cheese, yogurt, and sour crew am but it was with the hard cheese in packages. Not the normal place. They also have way to many 10item or less lanes. read more

I just wanted to thank Sally, I went today with my mom and we usually get an ok costumer service from cashiers, last time I went to wells branch location, I tried to use my wick card for the very first time, lot of the things were send back and the cashiers were not very helpful. This time Sally and another girl (didn't see her name) were very polite, and patient while I used my wick card, the other girl even went and grabbed the correct milk for me! This is my neighborhood HEB and I'm a bit disappointed in the service there lately. I spend A LOT of money weekly at this store and I usually have to bag my own groceries! Bags and bags of groceries. I notice there are baggers at other check out lines standing there or bagging a bag or two. You'd think they would give their best customers - the better service. I NEVER have them take my cart to the car either. This store hasn't always been this way. On the plus side - the pharmacy is wonderful! I enjoy the Central Market items they carry especially when I don't want to make the trip down to Central Market. I like the health bulk section when you walk in and the openness of the produce section. However, The layout is not very grocery shopping friendly any more since they remodeled it. Specifically the personal hygiene section and household cleaning section. It makes me feel all hodge podge. read more

Third time in a row they've been out of the same items. I made two extra trips on different days just for some chai and Annie's dressing, and they were out! Is there a chai and amazing salad dressing Apocalypse approaching that I'm unaware of, causing customers to raid the shelves of these coveted items? This is the closest H-E-B to me and I love it!!! The bakery stafff is great helped me out with a cake that I ordered and had it set up awesome!!! I took a picture and they did it just as I asked. There's managers that will greet you and also lots of times there are samplers that will great you!! The cheese deli is great!!! Thank you staff for being friendly and caring!!! Got to agree on the comments about the nice and large selection of international foods here. When I want to save money on groceries, HEB is the place I shop at. The have a post up in the middle of the store as well as near the front with tons of coupons to use. As you're shopping around, they place the coupons in front of the products too. It's so convenient to save money here. They occasionally pass out sushi samples. It was so good one day, I had to purchase. I asked whether they could tell me where to buy their sauce to add on to one of their sushi packs, and the lady said they don't normally do this, but she would add it on for me for free. That's some nice service there. Also, on occasion, I drop by the customer service desk to pick up Capital Metro stored value cards and purchase money orders. There's an in-store juice bar right by that always seems to be packed as well. I will have to try it out some time. While I don't have much experience on this matter, my sister comments that it is one of the nicer HEBs around Austin area. read more

I love this place. I choose HEB over any other grocery store. My only complaint is that it is so crowded most of the time but that isn't THEIR fault. They are very friendly with my service dogs which makes me happy. Very well informed staff. read more

This pharmacy treats you like a number and not a person. This place is the most difficult pharmacy I have ever dealt with.

I called to place a cake order for my wife's 21st birthday. Horrible service over the phone with some lady I spoke with. She asked me what day I would need it, I told her, and a second later I requested that it be the day before. She clearly moaned and groaned, and said "hold on, let me go back since you changed your mind". I asked if that was a problem, and she said I guess not. I then asked her a few questions, and she clearly was very irritated which I have no clue why and told me "just come in". I will never order from this bakery!!! read more

This store is poorly stocked. I have went to this store on several ocassions looking for a particular item, and have been unable to find it. I do understand that stores do run out of things, however, when you go back two or three day later, and they are still out of the same item. That is not good!! I don't see this problem at other HEB stores. As a matter of fact, there are actually some things that this store does not have. I have to buy them at other HEB stores. The only time that this store actually served my needs, was when it first opened about ten years ago. I would like to see the return of the cooking connections and eatery. If you like sushi and coffee, maybe this is the store for you. I prefer the one at Hancock Center, and the one at Riverside and Pleasant Valley. When I go to these store late at night, they have enough staff to actually get you out in a very timely manner. It is very frustrating to be standing in line late at night with only a handful of merchandise, and there is a long line of people with baskets that are practically full, and there are only two lines open!! They even shut the self check out lines down ten minutes before they are supposed too. read more

Haylee M. (Cashier) is very rude. She gave me a dirty look as I approached her register. There was no greeting, she just snapped in a contemptuous tone and terse manner, "Are you going to need a bag?" She was practically throwing my items after scanning them. I went through the prompts on the credit card machine to complete my transaction all during this incredibly cold silence and as she scowled. She then tore my receipt off and handed it to me. And people wonder why I prefer self-checkout lanes! read more

I'm sorry that I didn't write a higher rated review earlier so my 3 star rating is to reflect a mid-point between the great store that this used to be and where it is now. Number 1 issue is that they took out the self check lanes. Now there are only cashier manned "15 or less" items and it takes so much longer to get out of the store! Additionally, they allow shoppers who require assistance (i.e. need items like cigarettes that someone has to then leave and go get) in those lanes which sort of defeats the purpose of having a "quick check" aisle. The other thing is that the layout of the store is just weird. The grocery (food items) section is spread across the whole store and separated by non-grocery items so that even if you are only buying food, you are still forced to cover the whole area of the store! For those two reasons, I'm just not the fan that I used to be and we find ourselves more and more going to easier places like Walmart and Walgreens instead! read more

Always very busy but I can usually get through the checkout within 10 to 15 minutes so not too bad. Wine selection is great, as is deli and seafood. Pharmacy drive through is very slow. Also the pharmacy seems to switch manufacturers of drugs from time to time, which can lead to confusion. Employees are always busy but helpful. read more

I've been shopping at HEB for many years, as there just aren't many other options. If you need milk, eggs, toiletries, and most canned goods, this place is fine. But don't count on them EVER having good produce. I'm so sick and tired of buying peaches, nectarines and plums that are rock hard and never ripen, or they're already rotten by the time you get them home. I'd say 1 in 20 times they taste like they should. It's always so disappointing spending dollar after dollar thinking maybe this time these peaches or nectarines will be juicy and flavorful. I guess I'm the fool, and it isn't because I don't know how to pick out good produce. These fools just don't stock it. Even their bananas aren't very good anymore. What I would give for a good peach or nectarine, but I personally guarantee you will not find any here. Total ripoff. read more

This HEB is great! The selection of food is extensive. The health food bins include granola, trail mix, dye free candy, and various nuts, all decently priced. The staff is curteous, and the store is clean. I have been to HEBs throughout Austin and Houston, and this one is my favorite! read more

This store is huge. It has a great selection of products. However it's so crowded, it's like yore in the mall on Black Friday. With so much traffic,the store is always filthy. I'm not confident in the sanitary conditions. I go to another store for that very reason. read more

This was our favorite place to shop. However, I recently purchased an expired tub of HEB Family Pack Oven Roasted Turkey Breast lunch meat. It expired two days before I purchased it. I should have looked at the expiration date so I guess that I will no longer trust the store to sell "fresh" food. Plus the Large Organic Gala apples were mealy. Pros: Decent selection, aisles not too crowded, sushi made in store, sufficient number of parking spots, in-store bakery, seafood dept., international food section, ok wine selection, staff at check-out generally friendly. Cons: Long check out lines, name-brand items increasingly replaced by so-so store brand items (e.g. Softsoap large refill, large Pantene shampoo, Classico spaghetti sauces--they now carry no spaghetti meat sauce!), some issues with restocking, e.g. occasionally out of some milk products or bottled water; fruits (e.g. strawberries) frequently not fresh; bakery stopped making my favorite bread after change in manager; help hard to find in the back of the store (e.g. pushing milk to front of the top shelf in the fridge). Although farther for me, I go now more frequently to HEB on Parmer/Mopac. Smaller selection but shorter lines, smaller store with traditional layout thus quicker shopping. read more

On a Thursday night at 8:02PM I tried to use the customer service counter and, though there were two people in line being helped and two employees behind the counter, I was told as I approached that they were closed. I asked if they could fit me in as I had driven from Manor to renew my car registration but was told that they were closed. I asked a couple of more times but they weren't interested. It was 8:02PM and they close at 8PM so too bad. I went to get a manager but the manager told me that the person who had told me customer service was closed was the manager of customer service and there was nothing he could do. When I walked back over to check the weekend hours, the customer service manager saw me approach and again called out that they were closed and couldn't help me. Out at my car an HEB security person approached and said that I seemed upset and I told him why I was. He said that though it seems unreasonable there is nothing the employees could do because the system shuts down at 8PM. Yet, it was at least 5 minutes past and they were still working with the two people who were there when I arrived. I do need to say that the security guy was really nice. I know they have to stop somewhere, but it does seem that they could've taken just one more customer who only wanted to renew car registration. In any case, I felt that it was unreasonable and I won't be shopping at HEB any longer. read more
