This grocery store is a hit or miss for me. A lot of times their meat section isn't filled or their dairy but this time around I was able to grab some stuff for my lasagna soup. Some of the items here like pasta and little things are a little cheaper at Albertson's across the street so definitely found myself putting some stuff back and just opting to go to another grocery store. However, this grocery store is nice for a little quick pick me up when you're missing a few items for a recipe. It's even better when you can find items on sale. I had an extremely unpleasant experience at Natural Grocers, and it has completely changed how I view this store. An associate named Mona treated me with blatant disrespect and behaved in a way that clearly implied I was stealing. The way she spoke to me and watched me was humiliating and unprofessional. I was made to feel uncomfortable, judged, and unwelcome as a customer. This experience was upsetting enough that I do not plan to return, and I would seriously caution others. Natural Grocers needs to do better when it comes to staff training and how customers are treated. read more

Great customer service - I always get greeted when I come in and like chatting with the cashiers. They have a number of hard-to-find items, especially in the yogurt aisle, and I like the bulk aisle as well. Produce can be a little hit or miss. Prices are good and honestly, good enough to justify occasional delivery if I do a large enough order. read more

Natural Grocer is awesome. I have made it the number 1 grocery stop. Namely because they have fresh produce. Yes produce is the number one thing I care about. Other stores in the Dallas area are lacking when it comes to freshness of their produce. Having worked in the produce department of a small grocer at one point of my life gives me the ability to tell when a produce department is well cared for. Next I like the fact that I can count on Natural grocer to meet my expectations when it comes to products offered. I second to produce find value in what they offer in the meet department. I on occasion will by ground beef here. The next thing I like is that they have a abundance of supplements here. I do wish they would carry more of a selection of sunfood and bobs redmill products. I have found myself having to order directly from the source at times to get what I FEEL that I need. One other thing that impresses me about this store is the granola aisle or bulk bagged goods section -- very good quality at a reasonable price. One negative thing that I HAVE noticed recently at this store is that the cashiers tend to whine about encounters that they have had with customers who they felt did not give the employee a pleasant experience . Being a person who has many encounters with customers during my daily routine, I would never dream of talking about unsatisfactory encounters with other customers in their presence. The negative chatter I would rather not hear at the checkout-- sometimes I WONDER what the checkers may be saying about me when I leave out the door, not that I HAVE not gave them a satisfactory customer experience. I enjoy Natural Grocer and do the majority of my shopping here. Being that the store is small though they typically don't supply everything that I AM NEEDING, Natural Grocer thanks for serving people like me that desire a high quality product. read more

Really want to like this small store. Had very negative experience Friday night 3/3/23 in Longmont. Bought strawberries 2d before and they were all moldy. Returned Friday and had thrown receipt away. Manager said "we do't usually take returns w/o a receiprt, offered no apology, did not smile, and said nothing else as she grudglingly processed my return anyway." I nicely suggested she check what was on the shelf because the same batch of strawberries was still out and she said nothing. I got home, opened a bag of oranges I purchased the same day and half of them were moldy too! Quality control and customoer service are lacking. I did'nt bother to return the oranges and I won't return either. I am a local family physican who preaches much health to patients and I am much saddened by this b/c we really need stores like this to succeed. VC, you can do better than this and you need to. read more

The store also stock other products we like so it's been a great find! I like that the store isn't expensive as other stores like this. I love that it's close by where we live as well! read more

SHUT the FRONT DOOR! A place right around the corner from me that I can walk into and not have to read labels or signs to know if its organic? People have commented about the size of the veggie section or fresh items, but what you have to realize is that everything they do have is organic. If you compare that to organic at whole foods you would find that its not as small as it seems. Where I have to seek out the "green" signs at whole foods, I can just stole in here and know that everything is fair game. For me, that's worth a smaller selection. As for deli, they have packaged meats and cheeses: all natural and organic choices. Humane meats, some nicely seasoned to choose from and a typical fair of fake meats. I don't know about you, but humane choices are all I will purchase, thats all they have here. A great selection of homeopathic meds and vitamins that put Whole Foods to shame. Plenty of bulk grains and beans and other items to choose from. For a neighborhood sized grocery, this is wonderful addition to Casa Linda, and I hope it gets the support it deserves. Be sure to check the isle for great sale items and also the freezer in the back for clearance items, this would be great for items you intend to BBQ or cook that night. FYI, using your Debit saves the store money on fees and they are a no bag establishment... bring your own! Be good to your body, eat here! read more

I had noticed some activity in this old theatre a few weeks ago, but had completely forgotten about it. Today, while in Casa Linda for another destination I was surprised to see the Natural Grocers sign up, as well as an illuminated OPEN sign. I didn't go in to shop as much as just browse. As soon as you enter, you get that health food store smell. Not a bad thing, you know the one. It was well lit and inviting. The produce section was small but adequate- everything is organic. Not necessarily local, but organic. I saw a little bit of everything. I meant to check out the meat section, but I must have missed it. The only thing I know I saw were some tofurkey dogs (something I have no interest in). As I walked down the aisles, I saw some brands that were familiar to me, and many that were not. I believe that I could get all my shopping done here, it just might not be economical to do so. I feel like organic milk makes a lot of sense, there are many arguments that show how cow hormones are not well received by humans. But...at $5 a gallon for organic milk, I just really struggle with it. Then again, there's a wide variety of soy milks available too... About a third to half of this store is vitamins/supplements/non-food items. When I looked at their website, it actually says "Natural Grocers by Vitamin Cottage" and that made sense, given the amount of real estate devoted to the vitamins. I saw some other cool stuff- candles, aromatherapy oils, a good selection of lotions (with many sampler bottles). Overall I like having this in my neighborhood. But... I'm still wrestling with the issues of cost vs. the good feelings of buying organic. I'll definitely come back to try out a few things, and to supplement my other shopping. read more

The store is of the Whole Foods genre but the size and selection is considerably smaller. The fresh fruit and vegetable section is very small. As compensation the grains and spices isle is great with a wide selection at dirt cheap prices. There is also a nice section of organic meats. The prices are a lot less than Whole Foods. Overall, it's a nice addition to the neighborhood and closer than Whole Foods. Be sure to bring your own bags! read more

I love health food stores anyway so it was great to be able to come into the store while I was in the Dallas area visiting my niece. Every time I go in a different store I find products that I haven't seen in other stores along with some familiar faces. I picked up some half and half, lavender water, essential oils, castor oil and some of those little packets of Spirutein for under $2 each to make healthy drinks on the road. It's hard to eat healthy when you're traveling so it made me feel good to have a few healthy snacks and drinks that didn't take up much space. Everything was arranged neatly and the employees were super helpful, always ready to guide me to a certain area or product. They were also very knowledgeable about the merchandise. I felt comfortable asking them questions and getting accurate answers. I think if I lived in town I would be in this store often. read more

From my first time here I've learned a lot. When you come to a grocer like this educate yourself or you'll be overwhelmed. I found myself going down the aisles with not a single clue of what I wanted, why I wanted it or where to start. Jump to my most recent visit and I'm leaving with a huge box of groceries making plans on healthy changes I want my family to make in the future. We've (my family and I) have fallen in love with the cooler section and all the gluten free options. We've began to sub out more and more gluten from our diets and since I'm big on baking this section is my Happy place. Also I love the spices, they have a great variety of personal hygiene, beauty and hair care available as well. I haven't ventured into the meat section but I'll make my rounds on our next trip or so. read more

Natural grocers used to be more affordable. Now more often than not, the prices are higher than at Whole Foods and stores like Albertson's that carry some health foods. Plus you never know about covid here because there's no mask requirement so employees and customers often don't wear them. And chances are good the non-mask wearers aren't vaccinated. You know because they think being healthy will save them from a killer virus. Good natural immunity is certainly essential. But not everything needed in a pandemic. I used to spend a good amount of my grocery budget here but now I only seldom stop by and then remember why I don't shop here much anymore. read more

Looking out on the morning rain I used to feel so uninspired but give me -raw nuts huge selection & value -dried fruits with no added sugar -spices on the cheap like turmeric -whole grains & flours great values -delicate beauty products -protein powder values NG makes me feel like a natural woman. Compare to Whole Foods & Central Market, Garden of Life Raw protein powder is $5 less (use extra provided coupons and make it $10 less) and a bag of raw brazil nuts is half the cost. Employees know natural ways to heal you and ask about their filing cabinet which is a wealth of knowledge organized by interest and saves me alot of time doing independent research. All the health guidance I have received has been spot on and non gimmicky. read more

This isn't your normal grocery store where you can pick everything all at once, but if you are looking for vitamins, protein shakes that are natural, organic fruits/veggies and organic snacks, this is the place to go. I really like this store and many of the products. You can buy your tea here for much cheaper than other places. It is true that the produce section is small, but fine for general supplies and they often have sales. There are no reasonably priced milk brands, but I do not drink that much anyway. It is missing a deli or fresh meat section as well. I think this shop is a great addition to the neighborhood ad I love that they kept it looking cute with the movie sign and filled in the poster holes with food ads. The only real negative is that they usually just have one cashier. I had one or so quick ones, but there is often a line that appears. One cashier was so slow I though he must be sedated. read more

I was so glad I was curious and wanted to check this place out. I walked in and couldn't decided which corner I wanted to start first. I was like a kid at the candy store. They provide alot of organic items, protein shakes, vitamins, healthy snacks, and many more. The prices here are a little high but thats okay as other smiliar groceries stores charge just as much. I wanted trader joe's - I got Natural Grocers. And I'm mostly happy. They regularly run great deals, which I tend to go for as their prices are high. The staff is really friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Because they don't have a huge selection of food items it's definitely not the only grocery store I go to. But I think their presence gave Kroger on NWHY enough reason to up their efforts in the health food department. The big plus is their vitamin selection. You want it - they got it. Not sure what it is? Just ask. Some is around the corner to answer any questions. The other big plus for me is that they are two minutes from my house. If I lived closer to sunflower off ross (soon to be sprouts) that's where I'd be going. read more

It would perhaps be an exaggeration to say that East Dallas used to be a food desert before Natural Grocers moved into Casa Linda given that Albertson's is right across the street. But now that we only have to drive a mile or two instead of 5 to avoid dysfunctional Albertson's, I am in heaven. I've been coming to this store for 6 months now and every time I've come in Katie (cashier) checks me out and is always very cold, rude, unapproachable, and makes my fiancé and I feel very uncomfortable. I've tried to say hi and I get nothing in return. I've watched how she is with other customers and she is kind and holds a conversation. I like this store for their supplement & essential oil selections but last night I repurchased an essential oil and when I arrived home noticed it had been opened/seal was broken & smelled nothing like the oil I had purchased, it had no smell - it's as if someone had refilled it with a filler oil. I returned tonight to return my essential oil for a new (and not opened/tampered) oil and to my shock about 80% of their essential oils were opened/seals were broken. The store employee was very nice and gave me a store credit but I was surprised she said she "didn't know how other stores prevented customers from opening essential oil bottles". read more

This store is my destination for vitamins. Once I am there I do purchase other items. I feel this is a good company, excellent products and prices. The employees are helpful and friendly with one exception. A female employee at the Preston/Forest location on two occasions has made my shopping experience very unpleasant. Yesterday I was truly upset and came home wondering whether I should continue to shop there. We have Whole Foods, Sprouts, Herb Mart and Pure Formulas (online) and others. This morning I realized that I do not need to be disrespected and accept anything less than being treated like an appreciated customer. After my first experience with her I always try to avoid her if she is working; however, that is not what happened this time. She needs a coaching and customer service session on knowing when to stop talking and perform a memorable experience. It is not who is right or who is wrong -- it is about a customer leaving happy. read more

I was shocked, I had been for years wondering why someone would not build either a Whole foods,Sprouts or Trader joes in the Mesquite area and even though this store is 20 minutes from me it's better drive than going to Whole Foods or Sprouts!
