Mason wants to write this, but he over-focuses on the food he gets and wouldn't offer any stuff like the style, size, cleanliness of the store. So now he's in the back of his burrow bed, pouting. This will instantly go away when his nightly treat hits the floor. The new HEB is inside a former Randall's. They did a lot of renovation, including demolishing the side of the building where my vet used to be, for parking :-( It's a good-sized store with a large produce section, and a far bigger organic produce section than the Kroger's across the street. The bakery and deli section seems a bit smaller, but they have a selection of the Central Market brand items scattered throughout, and while pricey, those are often better than any other brand. They have different brands in many sections, but the HEB (not Central Market) branded frozen food items compare poorly to Kroger's. I had a lasagna, a chicken enchilada and a mexican lasagna, and all came nowhere near the box picture and were pretty lame. I like their selection and variety of condiments and sauces. Of course, since the place is new, it's clean and neat. They have bought into the current trend of loooong front to back aisles with no center break so that the shopper has to traverse past a lot of items to get to the other side so that you are enticed to buy more. The employees seem to be friendly and helpful. The parking lot looks like it could get a bit cramped during busy times such as before holidays. There are a bunch of empty storefronts in the strip along the right side which I suspect will fill now there's an occupant to the anchor store, which could make the parking even more cramped. Overall I'm pleased to see this HEB arrive, but I am not going to switch exclusively to it, as other grocery stores have different options. read more

We finally have an HEB in this area!! - about a year ago, I'd talked to my wife about the old randall's building being a great place for an heb in this area, and thankfully the heb gods have heard the call. Great prices and great service.....only negative i could give this place is that they do not have self-check counters, but is not much of a problem because they're never short of open counters no matter what time of day! read more

Years ago there was a Randall's located here until their pot-head-high prices were too much for the people. The people wanted affordability combined with quality and class. Got to give the people what they want. On the weekends there are frequent bbq's with burgers, dogs and ribs for the people. Inside the store is always clean and easy to navigate around. It's best to go early mornings because by the end of the day your favorite items may be out. And the staff of people treat the customer people with a natural kindness; they're people-people. Parking is great, i don't use the pharmacy but i can attest for every other department, especially floral. There are items here you won't find at Kroger or Food Town or Aldi. There's quick service and cleanliness that you won't get at Wal-Mart and there's great prices that you won't find elsewhere. read more

Something is wrong with the store, and let's be fair it's top down mismanagement. Produce department has nose dived, it's alright but anything that's refrigerated will be old, or of poor quality and they drown everything with water including CORN? Why you ask who knows? No wants wet moldy corn, but they persist in doing that inexplicably, always out of hatch chilies too even though the lousy Krogers has plenty. Used to stock the italian sodas (organic) they haven't restocked those in months, and the beer prices are frankly outlandishly expensive. Meat department and seafood is their one saving grace, they're still pretty darn good especially the seafood guys/gals -- had some excellent service even late right before they were going to close up shop for the day -- that guy was a champ. Now the rest of the store is a below average HEB, and the customer service is AWFUL. Case in point; had a full hand basket, on one arm loaded up/heavy, and under the other arm had a bag of charcoal (20+ lbs.) went to go to the 15 items or less check out, had a clear shot at putting down all this heavy stuff (and yes I made sure I had well less than 15 items) and one of their employees cuts right in front of me, slaps her food down in front of me and left me standing there holding 30+ pounds of groceries, no pardon me, no excuse me, just straight cut in the line in front of me, then realizing she was in the wrong tried to hide her damn name tag, needless to say spoke with the manager and I hope he handled that appropriately but inconsiderate unprofessional behavior like that should never occur especially at a business that depends on maintaining a good rapport with the local community.. Honestly can say this without hyperbole this is the worst HEB I've ever been to. read more

Wow! I came to my local HEB and happened to notice these beautiful cakes in the bakery so I decided to purchase the french buttercream icing, white cake for my upcoming birthday party. The price was so phenomenal that I bought a chocolate cake also! My guests admired the cakes and thought I bought them from a specialized wedding cake bakery. I later walked over to the flowers and noticed some colors that I really liked. I was informed that the florist would be there in the morning. Well, I came back the next morning and spoke to the Florist who is amazing! She was able to take the $4 bouquets add more fresh flowers and voila....an amazing arrangement. I ordered 5 arrangements. I was so floored when I came back to pick them up that I couldn't believe those were actually for me and my birthday party! The best part is that her creativity perfectly captured the color scheme I requested and her design was more than I imagined it could be. These flowers belonged in a grand hotel lobby! My party guests were shocked to know that my corner HEB has such a professional and artistic Florist. Thank you HEB bakery and floral departments! You made my birthday so very special at an affordable price and I will definitely come again for all future events! read more

I've been going to this H-E-B since day one and they have always been amazing until the other day. My husband went to have some balloons filled for a gender reveal. Which I had called a few days before and was told that there wouldn't be a problem getting filled. At first he waited a while for someone to even come to the floral department, had someone repeatedly called. Finally the young lady that came to help, straight up refused to fill our balloons. Claiming they didn't have the right nozzle to fill it and saying the confetti to would pop the balloon. So he had to drive to the H-E-B out on Mason Rd to have the balloons filled because the H-E-B down the street decided to let us down. The balloons were filled and didn't pop until the parents used pins to pop them. read more

This is a tiny HEB store but has a good variety. I hate that every time I go to store and wanting to buy CHEESE NIPS, you never have them, never in stock. I asked before could they check in the back but they said that they put all what they have on the floor, so I don't know if they are just being lazy or if that is really the case but this HEB needs to start buying more Cheese Nips because they obviously go fast and not a lot of stores sell them. read more

HEB is an exceptional place to shop! Someone gave me a coupon for HEB $10 off a purchase of $30 or more , and I was like why not check it out. The day before the coupon was going to expire I went ahead and did my weekly grocery shopping at this HEB. At the end I was expecting to pay around $100 for the items in my cart, but the total came out to just under $70. And then impressive customer service came from the cashier who reimbursed cash for my forgotten coupon after the transaction was processed. To top it all off the buddy bucks machine gave my son an instant winner sticker, absolutely making his night! All in all just a win. read more

On 2/8/2017 We was at the H E B Gas station. pumping gas when this young lady pulled up in front of my car and blocked me so i could not pull out when i got done pumping my paid for gas ...So she and i had words.. Then 2 of the mangers from the store ran over SETH was manger that was doing all the talking only at me. The young lady was talking crazy to me and all up in my face after i asked to get out of my face. Seth told me dont talk to my customer that way. Keep in mind im a 50 year handicapped person that hand my ill husband in the car.. He took her side and asked me to move I said i just paid for my gas and there several pumps open she could pull in Im the paying customer. She has not pay for her gas yet!! seth is not a very good manger and i will never got back to heb!! read more

New to Houston so never heard of HEB before walking in and I must say I'm impressed. Pretty good selection of merchandise at decent prices , although I would honestly prefer Kroger across the street for a few dollars more because they have more of a variety of items. But back to HEB, there are ugly yellow coupons everywhere but never for anything I'm purchasing. Workers are always visible but never bother you unless asking if you want a sample but even that is nice and professional. It's always clean and the money service ladies are super sweet. This is the closest grocery to my apt so I visit often and have never had a problem. read more

Every visit to Houston I make it a point to visit HEB, mostly for my fix of Lola Savannah coffee. This particular HEB has a small and not terribly interesting selection of coffees, so as a rare visitor I would not go back to this particular HEB. But as a neighborhood grocery store it is more than sufficient. read more

The location is convenient and it's great because it's an HEB! It's smaller than the giant HEB's further down 290, but it gets the job done without all of the crowding and parking hassles. The bakery is fantastic. The variety of organic produce is good, and getting better over time. The management pays close attention to the check-out lines, promoting a quick check-out process, even when the store is busy. During most of my visits to this location, there is always someone preparing one of HEB's recipes, highlighting a few of their products, offering samples and passing out coupons for the items in the recipe. Oh! I didn't realize this was a new HEB until I read these reviews! I went here earlier this week on my drive home, and I was SHOCKED how nice it was inside, given the area it's in. OK, it's not a horrible area of town...but it's not considered NICE. But they did a great job on this store!! It has the newer design, but it's not one of the fancy HEB locations. Used to shop at Walmart, moved then started coming here, I absolutely love thier prices the produce is super fresh and customer service is amazing. They always go above and beyond to help me and check out is super fast. They always ask if I need assistance. Will not go grocery shopping at walmart again. Today I went to this HEB to get some crawfish I placed my order and went inside the store for a couple minutes. So when I came outside I gave the young lady my recipt so I could get my order and she was giving me another order that was not mine. The order she was trying to give me was much more less than what I had ordered so I kept telling her to give me what I had ordered and paid for. She kept giving me other orders. So I went and got the manager to explain but my english is not very good the manager and that young lady started talking between them and were not listening to what i was asking which was for them to give me my order right. I found it very disrespectful how the girl which I did not get her name and I regret or the managers either because of how upset I was. I did get my refund but while the manager was giving me my money back she kept mumbling. Now that is bad customer service from the girl and the manager. It was not the fact that they got the order wrong that made me upset but how rude and disrespectful they were because all I wanted was my order right. read more

This store has everything you could want and just a little more but not much more which is perfect for my needs. This store could be a little brighter though. Since this is my new closest grocery store we'd have a problem if I didn't like it. It's big so it has a normal deli, meat market, bakery, etc. no extras like the sitting area at the montrose location or anything like that. The sushi here is decent quality for a grocery store so there's a plus to this location! Produce here is better than the Kroger across the street. More options in the meat section. Better prices overall if you are comparing to Kroger. The aisles are long and full of things you don't normally see. HEB is really good at carrying local and unique products so I like that about them. Their deli boxes and prepared meals also make me a happy VS eating frozen food on lazy days. read more

The new manager is rude and a flat out liar. She told me that the reason they would not cash a money order was because Western Union's policy was that you could only cash money orders at the same type of business you bought it at. I called Western Union and they advised that they have no such policy. You can cash it anywhere that sells Western Union money orders. Thankfully the lady at Krogers was pleasant and cashed it. The money order wasn't purchased at Krogers either. So HEB manager you are a liar. I reported her to corporate and to the Attorney Generals office for being deceptive because their sign says they cash money orders not just ones purchased at HEB. read more
