I hadn't planned on reviewing this H-E-B, because I don't have good or bad service here but after a truly positive experience at Leon Springs, I felt compelled to share a very different one. About a week ago, my son hit his head hard at the register and immediately began crying. As any parent would, my focus shifted entirely to comforting him. What stood out--and not in a good way--was the cashier's response. I noticed her exchange a look with the bagger that came across as annoyance and even threw in an eye roll. She didn't say a single word to check if my son was okay. There was no acknowledgment, no concern--just silence the entire check out process. To make matters more uncomfortable, my son happened to be holding a fidget spinner that he brought from home, and there seemed to be an assumption that he was attempting to walk off without paying for it. The lack of empathy felt disheartening. I understand that not everyone naturally responds with warmth, and of course, my child is not theirs. She was a young girl. Still, basic human kindness goes a long way. A simple "Is he okay?" would have made a meaningful difference, Even "hey here's some bravo bucks" I left as quickly as I could to care for my son, but looking back, I do wish I had taken a moment to speak with a manager. read more

Go, Rangers, Go!! I don't get a chance to shop here as much as I would like. I grew up in this area so you can imagine how much nostalgia I was hit with. The only time I have seen so much SV swag was at Friday Night Football game!! As for my experience with this location is that it can get packed. My fellow customers were all nice, and respectful. There are so many sample stations which is a huge plus. What I did not like about the place is the layout. I'm sure there is good reason...but why can't all the frozen/fridgerated be in the same area? I was there at 10am and when I went to pick up THE BEST tortillas, HEB Bakery tortillas!! I was disappointed because they were not warm as they should have been. read more

Overall we're pleased with our local HEB especially post refurb. It is now easier to navigate to the location of an item on the chain's website. It is still frustrating to get a parking space relatively close to the doors. A trivial complaint is that the plastic containers used especially for prepared fruit are very difficult to open and close. Service is excellent in spite of the large numbers of pickers for curbside business. While we trust most HEB house brand items it would still be better to have more choices of national brands. read more

First timer to H-E-B. Passing thru Texas and stopped in. OMG! This place was huge and packed for 2:00 on a Monday. And being from a big CA city, I was blown away. I enjoyed the workers who pushed the carts around trying to get you buy Tamales or Pies! Too funny. Also, did some wine tasting out of plastic thimbles, LOL. The only downfall is that if you forget to grab something, it may take you 10 minutes to get back to that side of the store to find it. Prices were decent as well. read more

This location has always been notorious for poor customer service and bad attitude from management to a partner in training since it opened it's doors years ago. Now it's worse with the remodel. I ordered a BBQ plate from your restaurant for the first time today. It was the 2-meat plate with natural fatty brisket and 3 natural ribs. My two sides were mac & cheese and cream corn. This was literally the worst BBQ I have eaten in a very long time. Additionally, it was probably the most overpriced BBQ I have eaten in a very long time as well, at $22.75 (with tax - $24.63). The brisket was not sliced; it was merely three very small chunks of extremely overcooked brisket (actually burnt) that was not close to being moist. The ribs were quite tasteless. I only ate one of them. Also, the sides were not very good either. They both appeared to be old (cooked much earlier in the day). The corn was off-color, and the mac & cheese was quite dry. This experience made me think I just got there at the wrong time of the day, because nothing was good; nothing tasted freshly made. I believe management should keep an eye on this restaurant. The meat department is starting to go down. They are putting the oldest and worst quality out. Just walked out the store after witnessing an employee inbtye meat department tell another customer that he would bring her out better quality meet. I'm assuming he felt if he spoke in Spanish I wouldn't understand. The managers and regional reps need to come out and look at the service being provided. HEB isn't our only means to purchase grocurs so do better before you start losing customers. read more

I've been here twice since moving to Blanco in September and the first time I went I vowed to never return and yesterday we were in the area so we decided to try it again. This experience was worse than the first! I will continue to go to the HEB in downtown Dripping Springs again. They didn't have some of what I needed. The entire bakery and deli were ripped out. I understand the need to upgrade stores, but there were no way finding signs showing people where they could find the fresh baked bread and deli meats. HEB, you can do better! read more

Had a not so great experience trying to get a check cashed from my new job, was cashing then 2 days before the date on the check for months and months, multiple managers saw this and never had a problem. Well today a man named Matt at the service desk (seen him MULTIPLE times and has cached all checks prior) was incredibly rude and unprofessional. Refused to cash our check saying it was the system, then to find out he went and made a big deal about it to higher ups and now everything is off. I needed my money TODAY, the same day I have been for months now (WEEKLY)) What a joke, if the machine is allowing the check to be cashed why is it a problem?! Early morning run to the grocery store. Not very crowded which makes it nice whenever you want to quickly get in and get out. Their charcoal was priced incorrectly, and despite our dissatisfaction with the situation, they would not accept the advertised price. To make matters worse, when brought up the issue at customer service counter, the manager not only dismissed but also laughed us off while giving a lame reason like weather condition outside being responsible for such mistakes instead of taking responsibility or offering any sort of compensation leading to permanent loss of trust which ultimately led us to permanently cease patronage of this particular branch. The head chief and the "Cooking Connections" was EXTREMELY rude to us today. While test tasting a sample of some dip that was sitting there he leaned over the counter and in an extremely sarcastic and rude tone said "we are gonna start using using utensils ok guys!". He then went on to say "you are professionals and so you should know better" once again in the same rude, sarcastic and demeaning tone. I am not upset at the request to use proper utensils, but the way he did it was extremely unprofessional, disrespectful and unnecessary. This H-E-B is normally so full of nice people that I was honestly surprised. (Written in 2019) So here we are many years later and that same employee is still there being a complete dick to not only The shoppers but also to other employees. Not only was he seen by me reprimanding a employee about something he did not understand, but he did it while ignoring customers who had come up to the cooking connections area to ask questions and taste test some of the food. I have a love hate relationship with this store. There are somethings they do really well here and other areas are really poor. Don't by their french bread. It's gross. We have been complaining for years about it. Another issue and I have heard its happens at all stores, that my favorite products are discontinued and I have to find them some place else. My biggest issue now is the fact that the area where this HEB is located is surrounded by properties that use septic tanks. Which means only certain products can be used in the kitchen and bathroom. So during this whole Shelter in Place fiasco, 1) HEB let people hoard products and purchase ridiculous amounts causing shortages; 2) the "I really don't care" attitude of staff that I have spoken to about out of stock septic safe items. This whole CoronaVirus ordeal has made me reevaluate how I do all of my shopping and as much as I hate it; I go to Walmart. I can only use certain products. Due to the ridiculousness of the CoronaVirus and hoarding, there are no septic safe toilet paper or dish soap. I live in Hawaii where there are no H-E-Bs. I have family that lives in Bulverde so when I was visiting and we needed groceries, this is where they took me. O...M...G!!! I can't believe I have lived without an H-E-B my entire life!!! This grocery chain is truly God's gift to grocery stores. Anytime I visit, no matter the length of the visit, I always make it a point to make a trip to the grocery unicorn known as H-E-B. I mean, THEY HAVE CRUSTLESS BREAD!!! AND KETO MILK! Like most stores nowadays, they offer curbside pickup which is obvious when you walk up to the store. There is ample parking - which I assume here in Texas isn't as big of a problem as it is in Hawaii. To my delight, they offer two different sized grocery carts depending on your shopping needs. I always gravitate towards the cute little ones :) The store is seemingly immaculate, everything is in its place and organized neatly and orderly. The store is easy to navigate, but definitely a place where you want to go down each and every aisle, if not for necessity then for FOMO. If you are a fan of my reviews, then you know I harp pretty heavily on customer service. Maybe it's me, maybe it's Texas, or maybe the people are just genuinely good. At H-E-B, I could not ask for better customer service or nicer employees. And also notable is how happy and stress-free everyone seems. During pandemic times, it's hard to find happy employees. Obviously, H-E-B is doing something right, both for the customers and its employees. Some wonderful features: sushi station, deli, meat market, dispensable coffee grounds (that aisle smells amazing). Gas and Groceries- Texas style! This grocery store is located along loop 46, right down from 281. It's a pretty big store, with a nice outdoors area with lots of plants and garden decor. It's actually not just an HEB, but an HEB Plus! Here everything's better. This one is a bit difficult to get in and out of. Highway 46 isn't wide enough for all the traffic that this mega gigantic grocery store, and all the other tenants in this shopping center create are trying to get in and out of there at the same time, causing slowdowns and rush hour traffic in Bulverde! Who'd have ever thought? However, all this traffic might be because the Cooking Connection booth is now handing out samples again. But the store is clean and the merch is always the best! This last time I got the HEB gas, much cheaper than Luke's down the way. Be sure to go for the Combo Loco deals! Plus, they now have an app that offers digital coupons. I truly love H‑E‑B. It's my favorite, local and convenient place to buy Texas sourced items! I like this location, staff is friendly, and I generally always have a pretty normal experience shopping. It's clean, organized, and stocked well! My only issue is one I have with all HEB's. I find that my produce is not of the best quality. I don't usually use HEB's pick up much due to if I have an issue with an item, I don't feel like their refund/return policies are convenient so I know I don't want to order any produce through it. Other than that, I love the wide selection of items offered in H‑E‑B and will always be a fan with small complaints, haha! read more

I have tried to be patient with this store as it is the only one within 25 miles. The gloves come off today. I am in there this evening with the other after work crowd. I have a list from the wife for about 12 items. The store is out of stock on about 30% of the items on my list. You can buy their heb brand because that is about the only thing on the shelf. But you can't buy something like Nature's Own bread or Yoplait yogurt. Then when you go to check out - about 30 check stands, but they are so cheap that only 4 are open. Close to 10 carts in every lane, so checking out takes for ever. A monopoly tends to not be in the consumer's favor. We need some competition in this area so that heb will have to give customer service. read more

I live exactly between two big HEB stores-- Boerne and Bulverde/Spring Branch. Unless I am in Boerne for other reasons, I always head east to Bulverde/SB. The staff just seem happier there, for some reason. I am now recovering from covid, and last night placed my first order for delivery through HEB. Delivery was exactly on time bright and early this morning, and the order was perfect aside from the items they had forewarned me were out of stock. My driver was very nice, and he was very understanding while I checked my order. (We did a sanitized tip "drop" from a safe distance.) I will not hesitate to use this service again should the need occur, but one of the highlights of my week is my HEB shopping trip. Not giving that up! Great selection of almost every grocery item imaginable, except for organic corn tortillas. There is one brand of NonGMO available. There are organic tortilla chips, but when one wants tacos, well... The shelves are usually well stocked as well, and the employees are very helpful and make some great recommendations, especially in the wine and cheese sections and the fish counter. Sadly, the bakery disappointed a tad. We were worried about if the breads were vegan or not, and the employee could not find the information, so I contacted corporate and received a little run around. Most all of the enzymes are plant based, one exec responded. Please update labels! We do LOVE how there is no high-fruticose or hydrogenated stuff though! read more

Was told that I was using a fake/or not using my own H-E-B card by the front manager because I left my hard copy at a friends so they sent me a photo so I didn't have to drive into SA today and get it, I plan my grocery shopping very purposefully because I can't afford not to... but the lady just kept telling me it's not mine and that it's someone else... I kept trying to explain that I'm the family member so I use the second card not their main... but she just kept belittling me... so I honestly just left the store crying with no groceries... love living in a world where we struggle enough to pay groceries and THIS is what H-E-B is concerned about. read more

I'm writing this review purely because I feel curbside attendant Nathan deserves a major shout out! In the heat of Texas the students, kids, adults, employees who have to work outside to move carts and keep parking lot clean usually are a little negative drained or dreading being outside due to the heat. Today I experienced in an Encounter with Nathan of curbside or carts who impressed me more than you would ever think. As he asked how my day was I said hot and then tried to joke about how his day must be bad because he's in the heat and I was apologizing for him and instead he pointed out all the grateful parts of his job. It's people like that, that can make a world of difference. And make a company go that much farther! He genuinely was thankful for his job and saw additional benefits of his job as well. He was so kind and friendly and continued to work while being friendly. Bulverde HEB, has other employees I've noticed are friendly, positive, and get stuff done. But today's experience was more genuine then I'd seen before! read more

This is my favorite store to shop at! Majority of the employees are very helpful and kind. The cooking connections station is the complete opposite, Emile and Arianna are always on their phones, snarky with guests, never helpful and I have walked past multiple times when they were making fun of someone walking past. If corporate is around or a manager they are icky nice and fake but as soon as no one is watching them it's back to the their phones and making fun of others. PHARMACY STAFF IS SO RUDE. I went to pick up my RECURRING prescription that I've been getting for years and for some reason it wasn't filled? The lady in the drive through kept acting like it was my fault... I was like are you sure I mean I've been getting this med for 3 years now and I've never had a problem? I was so polite and she had the same response to everything I said. "The prescription wasn't filled." Well what can I do? "The prescription wasn't filled." Vegan food has made it was to my families hearts, I seriously thought heb would never let me down. With it being a HEB PLUS, you'd think the selection for vegan food would be awesome....then you walk in to this gigantic beautifully laid out store to find out they only had a tiny (that's not being dramatic) section of vegan items. Typically, I love HEB. The reason I gave three stars is because of the new business in front of the registers. I went to go try out eyelash extensions. It was a horrible experience. It was extremely painful, and today my eyes are really swollen. She pinched my eyelids so many times to where I was gripping the chair from the pain. So many of my friends have had eyelash extensions and loved it. Now that I've talk to them about my experience, I now know that the extensions should be on your actual eye lash. Mine are on my eyelid, which is why it's so painful. Also they are supposed to put a tape or a pad on your lower eyelashes to protect them, and the lady at HEB did not. So I have glue in my lower eyelashes. The fake eyelashes she put on me are not only painful but they look horrible. I just want them off, but I don't even know how to get them off. This is going to be a long two weeks of trying to get them off my eyes. Do not put yourself through this! I will not be going back ever. UPDATE: I went to the doctor and was diagnosed with conjunctivitis in both eyes. He said it was from the eye lash extensions, and that eye drops will fix it. I had to put antibiotic/steroid eye drops in my eyes 3x a day for 7 days. My eyes were super painful, itchy, and swollen. read more

Went to my friendly H-E-B off 46 to explain how my ground chuck 80% -20% was a ground Chuck 60%-40% and the butcher there told me to expect that because it varies even that much because it's made in house . Lol so I'll be going to my friendly chicks meat market for my ground beef and other beef cut products. Since my local H-E-B butcher can't guarantee 80/20% fat or closer to it and can't even refund my meat ... he said but 90/20 if I want 80/30! This H‑E‑B location is truly behind most other HEB stores. They are very limited on Gluten Free items. Walmart had a better selection and seems to care more about it. HEB on Evan has a wonderful selection. When you ask about them bringing certain gluten free items they either say they can't or I would have to buy the whole case. They don't seem to care about their customers that have disabilities. read more
