Like other reviewers stated, this is a small H Mart. It has a good selection of produce, ready made meals and products and I was able to get what I needed. It doesn't have a food court like the big H Marts. I love that they sell the sushis at a great discount!

We needed to buy a few groceries for our AirBnb so we were able to check this Hmart out, and I was pleased with this hmart! I know there are a lot of Hmarts in New Jersey, so I wanted to check out as many as I could. This isn't your biggest Hmart -- it's medium-sized, but it has all the things you would find in your typical Hmart. I don't think there was a food court, but there is a prepared food corner where you can pick up things such as banchan and kimbap. The hmart is also part of a plaza and the plaza had a Starbucks and other stores so you're able to get what you need here. I've been to this Hmart before maybe 3-4 years ago, so it was a nice little refresher being able to see this Hmart!

I absolutely love Hmart. I bought some Onigiri with kimchi and seaweed salad on the inside. They were really good, and I always wanted to try some before. I've also always wanted to try the onigiri with tuna or some kind of fish on the inside. I bet that is delicious. I also really love the different assortment of candies, fish, noodles, and rice. I love trying new things, and I should really come here in the future to look for some fresh new ingredients. I would love to see if they have tarot root that I could stir-fry with some vegetables.

    Hmart Leonia (3/22)

Hmart in Leonia Compared to the Hmart in Ridgefield, this is very small, but it does serve the Asian population well in the area so that we do not have to go to Ridgefield, Palisades Park or Fort Lee. The main reason we do not frequent this Leonia one is ... due to its size, the "produce selection" is limited. Other than that, we can definitely get most of our grocery here. Due to the size again, the aisles are very narrow and can be very uncomfortable to move around in the store.

Not my favorite H-Mart (I prefer the one in Little Ferry) -- but it is serviceable when you need what only they are likely to have. Smaller then it's siblings and from what I gather -- the oldest version in NJ, this location has fewer choices in the produce and seafood aisles -- but plenty to choose from in terms of fresh meats and poultry. If you shop H-Mart for prepared/desiccated/preserved Korean foods -- you will find them here in abundance -- along with freshly made sushi. Not sure I care for the parking situation -- sort of counter-intuitive -- you almost need an algorithm to access the place. Just sayin.

I dropped by for one thing and left with two bags stuffed with goodies. Surprise surprise. Haha. I just had to try the matcha bubble tea ice cream bars my friend was raving about. I also wanted to pick up a few produce items while I was there. Let's talk about how Trader's Joes is so unreliable with scallion and cucumbers... Yes, I love you Traders, but you gotta work on your supply chain. It is literally ALWAYS in stock at every Hmart I've been to, including this smaller location. And the produce at Hmart is much higher quality and freshness. Any non-Koreans should seriously get on this bandwagon. You're welcome in advance. If it weren't for the convenience of buying groceries all in one spot, I would get all my produce here. Also picked up basically a cilantro bush (haha) for $1.99. I bet you I would get a teeny bunch at another store for that price. Also I grabbed a red onion here in 1 second, whereas I'm usually digging for like 5 minutes straight only to end up with small and slightly questionable looking one at most places I purchase this item. Who ever is in charge of the produce buying department at Hmart deserves a raise. Highly recommend this local Hmart location. I will be reviewing the newest location in Little Ferry soon fam!

Prices seem to be getting higher and higher every time I go. They were in the process of renovating their food court and bakery but now it seems like they have closed it. Massive potholes at the entrance and exit of their parking lot. I still stop by for the needed Asian products but what's going on?!

This H Mart is apparently the first in the Northern NJ area, and unlike the other three H Marts in NJ we've been to (Fort Lee, Little Ferry, and Edison), this store is not as large, and the product offering didn't seem to be as great. Nevertheless, my family was looking forward to visiting our fourth H Mart. The food court, which is really one stand, offered options for very reasonable prices. My sister and I shared a marinated beef dish with white rice, a side salad, and some ban chan. Dad and Mom shared a octopus in hot pepper sauce dish. They got ban chan and miso soup. Each of the orders cost $8. Service is always good at H Marts, and this was no exception. From the seafood section to getting samples to the registers and customer service. everyone is so polite and courteous. i like when they bag groceries. Unlike other Asian grocery stores, *cough* Kam Man, they do not throw your food down to you to bag yourself. The customer service rep even took the effort to understand my request to purchase gift certificates. They speak English and Korean mostly, but many of their signs are offered in those two languages as well as Chinese. On the outside, this is not a particularly impressive storefront, and the parking lot entrance and exit is riddled with pot holes. Nevertheless, I prefer H Mart for their variety of produce, housewares, and good service. I also like the prepared foods they have, and their seafood is super fresh. Plus, it doesn't hurt to try free samples. :-)

For example, if I ask for half a pound of something they will give me a quarter pound yet charge for a half a pound. This has happened three times. I called them on it the last time I was in there. The clerk told me it's because they weigh the paper with the fish. Okay, fine, but that doesn't change the fact that I only received 1/4 pound of fish, and 1 ounce of paper when I weighed the two separately at home, and was still charged for a 1/2 pound. I know that all scales are going to be slightly different from each other but I have a very accurate scale at home and there is no reason why the weight should differ by 3-5 ounces from the scale that they have at the store. Do it once, it's a mistake but three times makes it seem intentional. The quality of the fish is very good, which is why I gave one star, but I doubt that I'll be back.

Out of every 10 visits, at least 7 times I've been overcharged because the cashier doesn't scan items correctly or prices don't match the label. Today, I bought napa cabbage--exactly the same type--and one was charged $9 while another was $4. When I asked for a refund, they only subtracted $1.60 instead of the full difference. This is ridiculous and unacceptable for a store of this size. I love H-Mart products, but I can't trust that I'm being charged correctly. They need to fix their pricing system and train staff properly. Until then, I'll be extremely careful and double-check every item at checkout. It's a small shop with few seatings and tables. It's street parking for the most part. Once inside i can tell that it was authentic Korean restaurant as there were other korean customers and all the signs and decorations were in Korean language. The owner came out and took our order We got a spicy octopus plate, soy marinated crabs, and scallion pancakes. They offer side dishes first which is a common practice in Korean restaurants. The side dishes were all flavorful and looked like home made pickled veggies and kimchis. Scallion pancakes had lots of seafood and was tasty. Spicy octopus plate was ok a stone plate and its got nice char and crispy rice at the bottom with spicy and sweet octopus. The soy marinated crabs were flavorful but was difficult and messy to eat because the you have to de shell the crab and doesn't have a lot of meat. The owner also gave us egg dish complimentary which was a nice gesture. It was kind of like an omelet. Service was good and owner was nice. Overall it seems like a good authentic Korean restaurant in the area. Was not too crazy about the soy marinated crabs but i'm sure it's of standard. I'm glad i got to try the dish though. Good place to go if you like soy marinated crabs.

We like the korean spots, too, and those are everywhere, but we always crave that other spicy with spices kick. If you like spicy food, you'll LOVE their spicy soups, but be warned: start with the lowest spicy level and cautiously work your way up. We like the use of their food ordering tablet, which makes ordering easy bc the list of items can get extensive; you'll want a variety of everything to cook away in your soup. They have the option of two and three soups in one cauldron. We always get two soups: one spicy and one non-spicy. Then, we order lots of different veggies and our protein of choice is always the ribeye. They have different kinds of the non-spicy soups and they're all really good. The sauce station isn't too big like some other places, but it has everything you need to make a good personal sauce. Service is always great and attentive. They even swoop in with a hair tie and aprons before you go in on your feast. We always leave so full and so satisfied. Would definitely recommend shoo loong kan if you're craving non-korean style hotpot. Note: You can park in the garage that it's in the plaza building and they'll validate your garage ticket.

If you want anything beyond that, you have to pay an extra $20-40 for an option outside the AYCE menu, which kind of defeats the purpose of an "all you can eat" package. Broth: Ordered the broth expecting something closer to a real bone broth, but it came across very one-note and packet-seasoned -- like it came straight from an instant soup base rather than being simmered in-house. Dessert mishap: Ice cream is supposed to be included with the AYCE package, but their fridge was broken the day we went, so no ice cream at all. Would've been nice to get some kind of heads up or substitute offered. Service: The one bright spot -- servers were attentive and fast getting food out to the table, which I appreciated. Overall, service alone isn't enough to carry the experience when the food quality and value don't match the price of the AYCE package. Might give it another shot down the line to see if things improve, but not in a rush to come back.
