One of my favorite item to buy at H mart is LA galbi. It's been called LA galbi because this is from LA Koreatown by Korean immigrants. It differs in shapes from Korean traditional which is thick cut to cook braised beef rib, or beef bbq. It's thinly cut to cook and bbq easily, wash them throughly, marinated in the sauce for a day, mixture of soy sauce, honey, cooking wine, and chopped garlic. Easy. And cook them in the Tepal frying pan on the table with portable burner, family and friends gathering around the table. It's has been people make relaxing and satisfying after the lousy job as a plumber, a painter, a food server, a mechanic on those days. They sitting around the table on weekends with friends and family and this day has been called the best day of their lives. When I came to the US 20 years ago, the price was reasonable but now very steep and in this pandemic, the price is the highest( yesterday it was $13/lb). But I couldn't stop buying because this is definitely the best. read more

This is my first time coming to the Hmart food court since they remodeled and my experience here was amazing. I got a Korean Potato Mozza-dog that was good. The only thing was that the sticks were not able to support it so I had to eat it with a spoon. Their Mustard Cheese sauce added the perfect balance of rich and savory taste to the sweetness of the mozzarella and sugar coating. I also got the Tuna, Kimchi and Cheese Fried Rice. This has got to be one of the best fried rice dishes I've had in a while. The tuna wasn't overpowering and the cheese tied in well with the whole dish. I seriously love this store. The variety of fresh produce is my favorite aspect of this store. Also the fresh and live fish is a delight . Not only that, the prices are great and customer service is on point. I love Korean food so I try to come here during lunch time so I can get the pre-made meals which I really enjoy. This grocery store caught me off guard! This has got to be the first Asian market I have entered, that was surprisingly clean, and packed full of wonderful fresh produce. Wow! I have a fairly extensive palate and eat foods which my husband considers down right gross. Kimchi is one of them. I have to make sure when I eat it, I don't open it in the house, otherwise the house will reek for hours. This store has a large selection of varies varieties of kimchi. Impressive! I was fascinated by the large selection of fresh fish. It never had a fishy smell, which I usually notice at other markets. The fish's really fresh, no fishy odor, the scales are bright and metallic, and the gills are clean and red. Can't get any fresher then that unless you pull it from your own line! I noticed that there is a food court here. I was not aware of this, otherwise I would have eaten here. Always tomorrow! They have a bakery shop within H-Mart that sells delicious pastries. They also have varies cakes that are beautiful and look quite yummy. You do have to pay for your pastry items before you can continue to shop the rest of the store. Thought this was an awesome unique experience. Was able to pickup some of my favorite fruits this weekend... Left to right... Longan, Rambutan and Lychee. All somewhat similar in that they have a white fleshy meat. The Longan is my second favorite as they are very easy to peel and pop in your mouth. I taste a hint of Concord grape in these. The Rambutan is the largest of the three and has a thicker skin that is difficult to peel. The meat is not as tender and has a little citrus taste with a hint of vanilla. Lychee are my favorite by far as the meat is very tender and sweet. Their thin shell makes them rather easy to peel. Seem to be able to find Longan and Rambutan throughout the year with Lychee in the summer. Anyway, Hmart is a really interesting experience. read more

I love this store. It is not as big as the Carrollton store. However, I can things here I can not get in my small town.

I usually visit the H-Mart in Carrollton, but I like this cleaner and more organized location in Plano. As a person who cooks soup once a week, I usually buy some kind of wheat, rice, or egg noodle from H-Mart as well as pick-up a bag of bok choy. Other things I would also consider others to check out: - Pre-made sushi and sashimi - An unbeatable ramen section - Exotic fruit Also, despite not being organic, I do like their Wagyu beef. Pre-order birthday or special event cakes here! The whole place is clean, orderly, stocked or stacked to the ceiling, like being in a market in Asia somewhere. Connected to the supermarket is a small boba / coffee shop, nice setup, maybe even a date? Go past this to an indoor retail bazaar... and Food Court. The Food Court has 5 kitchens repping different Asian cuisines. In a glass case, artificial food dishes show you what you can order! They look real. There is a separate canned & bottled drinks section, full of imported drinks, iced coffees, real coconut prepped to drink, and regular domestics. One lady rings up for all 5 kitchens, you find an open table to sit. You will be called to the kitchen you ordered your dish from. Korean, Japanese, Vietnamese, Loatian/Thai. Prices are Good, food is Good. This is not gourmet, but more like Asian roulette with all the choices! I have enjoyed every meal here so far, but that's me. The Super H Mart in Carrollton is bigger, more liquor & beer selection, more household products, and a huge produce selection. Papayas bigger than watermelons, too! The Carrollton shopping center around Super H Mart is packed with Asian restaurants, dessert shops ( Mozart's Bakery & Coffee, Mango-Mango, Tom & Tom's Coffee ) Karaoke clubs, the 10x10 Shop where you get KPop stuff, and more. Having had a wonderful meal almost a year ago at the H Mart in Houston, my companion and I were anxious to eat at its sister store in Plano. Unfortunately for us, all H Marts aren't created equal. We made a circuit of the food court and found the offerings sub-par. Not only were there fewer "hawker stalls" but the menus were much more limited. So it was with heavy hearts (and empty bellies) that we moved on to the rest of the store. While there were the typical Oriental offerings, this store was cluttered and dirty. Asking for help was like pulling teeth. Not only was there no eye contact but an "Excuse me, I need help," was met either by the person just pushing past me or a curt, "I'm busy." The only friendly faces were the ladies passing out samples--and tasty samples at that! The store circular listed my favorite basmati rice, Zafarani, at $8.95 for a fifteen pound bag--a real steal. After finally finding the display, I found nothing but ten pound bags. I pointed this out to the section manager who replied, "The circular is wrong; ten pounds only." I bought it because it was still cheaper than usual, although I did so begrudgingly. I don't know if everyone in the store was having a bad day, if it was because we were not Oriental but I have seldom been treated so rudely. At the H Mart in Houston, everyone was helpful and friendly; it's beyond me why this Plano store couldn't follow suit. If you enjoy being treated rudely and like cluttered, dirty stores this is the place for you. If not, best look elsewhere. read more

We are huge fans of Hmart. When we lived in CA, there was only one store that was an hour away from us. Yes, you heard me right, I would make that trip just to get some fresh produce and meat cuts that you can't get anywhere else! This Hmart is not as impressive as the one in Austin (they have a giant food court with live music bar! So fun) but I like this one too. They are always well stocked and I love their great selection on banchan (side dishes), fresh produce and meat. This location is definitely less cramped, crowded and more cleaner compare to the store in Carrolton. I definitely like to come here if I need things to cook Korean food and my kids like to tag along as they can spend a very long time on their snack isle. They have so many choices (not only one of the best Korean snacks but also European) It saves me a trip to World Cost Market as I get everything here. The ladies at the cashier register are so cute and nice. They speak English well enough to communicate if you need anything but if they know you speak Korean, they will carry fun little conversation while scanning your goods. They are so nice and friendly (unlike some other Asian grocery chain stores). Yes, we love Hmart! read more

Another great addition to Plano area. I'm so glad this place finally opens so I don't have to drive far to Carrollton and pay the toll for the other Hmart. They have great selections for Asian food. Fresh produces. Fresh meat. Fresh seafood. Fresh everythang. The sales are pretty good and pretty frequent, so make sure you sign up for Hmart saving cards to see their sale items and coupons. If you're hungry after grocery shopping, don't worry there's a food court that offers Vietnamese, Korean, Japanese and Chinese food. There's only one line to order food for all the food stands. They also have random stores here and there, and tous les jours bakery is the bomb. The police station is around the corner so don't be too scurred going to East Plano. Shout oout!! read more

We love the H Mart!! We usually go to the one in Carrollton, but when we don't have time to make the long drive out and need a Korean fix, this is our H Mart :) The H Mart is always well stocked and impeccably clean. We have never had any trouble either finding an ingredient we needed or finding someone to help us if we can't find it ourselves. The fresh food markets are trustworthy and immaculate - the fish is always on lots of ice, with moist bulging eyes and no fishy smell. We also appreciate the convenience foods - today we grabbed marinated beef bulgogi,several different banchan, and house-made kimchi for dinner. Hmart has everything you could want in a big grocery store: it's clean and well-lit, comprehensive and well-stocked with a huge variety of items, and well-organized with well-marked prices. And to top it all off, there's an amazing food court! I visited Korea and Japan for the first time this summer, and was inspired by all the great food I ate to incorporate some new ingredients into my own cooking. I left with jars of kimchi, big tubs of gochujang (red chili paste) and ssamjang, as well as two kinds of miso, soba noodes, mirin, and much more. There are lots of options for vegetarians and vegans (even a vegan kimchi! most have fish in them.) I got a vegetarian mushroom-flavored "oyster" sauce in the Chinese sauces section, frozen veggie spring rolls, two kinds of frozen vegetarian dumplings, soft tofu, firm tofu, five-spice tofu, produce, and more. Plant-based eaters: there's an *entire wall* of tofu. Come check it out, and grab a bit at the food court while you're at it (the Vietnamese stand has a couple of vegetarian items marked, and I'd be very surprised if they weren't vegan). Hands down the best Hmart in the USA. Grew up in Va so no stranger to Korean markets. When Hmart hit the scene in Early 90s (Or at least when I started going) I didn't have to wait for my mom to make all my favorite Korean dishes. Love love love!!! Flash forward ... living in Texas and finding this gem! I frequent Hmart at least once a week to their "cafeteria" style open food court. We take anyone who hasn't tried Korean or Asian Cuisine (safe bet since they have a number of different options i.e. California rolls) and our out of towners. I used to come here from time to time but this will be the last time. When I ordered a soybean paste stew at the food court, the display of the food had only tofu and no meat so i ordered it. When I got the food, it turned out there was meat in it which I don't eat. At first I asked if the order can be remade to no meat, they just stared and walked away. I spoke to the same cashier and requested a refund and she kept arguing and arguing. She also kept blaming me saying I didn't say "no meat". Even though it was true, to be fair, the food display was also deceiving because it showed only tofu in the soup and they said the meat was hidden in the bottom. I went to the store facing the food court and asked the man to get me a manager. He said manager is not in today but after speaking with the cashier and the old guy who prepared the food, I finally got my refund. You know, I would have let this go if not for the way you people handled the situation. You people are so dishonest and i say this because you happily accept people's money when paying and when there's a problem where the customer wants a refund, you start arguing and blaming the customer. I am never coming back here again and you people don't deserve to be handling business with anyone because to keep a business requires honesty AND courtesy and you people just don't have either trait. You shouldn't be in business from the way you treat your customers. read more

I've shopped here for many years. I love the food court (the spicy ramen is lip numbingly delicious) and the rockery store prices are great. Small Appliances can be found cheaper online but as for the produce and fresh noodles, they can't be beat. The mushrooms are very high quality and of all different varieties. Ok selection of produce and groceries. It is located in a quiet place so not a lot of customers when I was there so it was easy and fast to shop. My fiance and I were checking out the area and we were happy to find a H Mart nearby. This is a popular big Korean grocery store that we loved to visit in Southern California, and I was happy to see that the Plano store is even bigger with much more to offer! We were at Mitsuwa just before visiting here (which is pretty new), and the one thing that stood out was the general smell.. It just has that classic Asian grocery smell. So that was a good thing. There is just so much going on. So much frozen items, seafood, KIMCHI WALL, banchan (Korean side dishes), marinated meats for KBBQ, usual Asian grocery items,candy, drinks, snacks, Hello Kitty toilet paper, and samples throughout the store?! Wow. My fiance and I were looking for something to eat for dinner; we ended up getting marinated short ribs that were on sale as well as beef kimbap that came in like 20 pieces for only about $7! What a steal. We grilled the short ribs later that night and it was just so so good! In addition to the main grocery store, there is also some vendors selling specialty items, from baked goods to skincare. I found myself at the bakery (Tous De Jours) which had plenty of samples that I shamelessly took part of (while my fiance embarrassingly stayed far away from). I wanted to get a lot of baked goods but I calmed myself down and only got 4 items hehe. Overall, I was impressed by this H Mart, especially compared to the H Marts in California!
