I just moved to Plano so this location is my newest "home base"Trader Joe's. After living in San Francisco for over 20 years I was eager to check out what the Texas TJ's were like. My parents lived in Garland so I'd visited the Walnut Hill & 75 location over the years and liked it, other than the fact that they're not allowed to sell hard liquor which is a BIG BUMMER but not the store's fault. I went to this location around 2pm on a weekday and it was BUSTLING! The selection was pretty good and just about everything on my list was in stock. The store is super clean and well stocked by happy, helpful and smiling employees as always. There were even plenty of shopping carts and baskets available which is never the case in downtown San Francisco. The lines were very manageable even though the store was packed with shoppers. My cashier informed me that this is the busiest location in the DFW area, but I'd argue that the Walnut Hill location is just as busy. I was thrilled that the lines don't snake around halfway down the aisles like those for a theme park roller coaster as they do in SF. read more

This is the first time I've been to a Trader Joe's in over 10 years and I only went because of a few posts I saw on Facebook telling me how awesome it is. The posts all said how great the customer service is, the prices, the whole vibe. So, I thought I would give it a shot, and the prices and the quality of products did not disappoint. I only gave it three stars because the only two customer service people I came in contact with were not friendly at all. For example, when I checked out, the cashier handed me the receipt, made no eye contact, did not acknowledge me in any way. Major pet peeve of mine. I like to stop in to TJ's from time to time. While I couldn't see myself shopping here weekly (tried and true HEB fan here), they do have fun seasonal items that I can't resist. Holiday favorites include: English Toffee, Danish Kringle coffee cake, apple cider donuts, chocolate orange candy, boxed cookies- iced gingerbread, dark chocolate stars, etc. I tried the strawberry preserves for the first time and it's a new favorite! Okay, I might have a bit of a sweet tooth. Luckily I pace myself. I also love their plant/floral selection! Their staff is always very friendly and they never fail to provide service with a smile. Have been shopping here for 10+ years and it's our favorite location. Workers are very friendly. Have seen a lot of turnover over the years but there are still some OGs (shout out Andre) that provide a sense of familiarity. They consistently have this in stock and have items that other stores don't have. Weekends are a bit crazy but shopping during the weekdays us a much more pleasant experience. Supposedly the Captain here won Captain of the year a few years ago which explains why is one of the better stores. Always love shopping here! read more

Trader Joe's is my absolute go-to for affordable essentials. While everyone knows them for the food, their toiletries are the real hidden gem--many of them are fantastic dupes for much more expensive brands! I also love browsing their plant and bag sections. Of course, I can't leave without snacks; the pretzels are a staple for me, and I always look forward to their seasonal releases. Trader Joe's January 30, 2026 3 stars This was my first time visiting a Trader Joe's. We didn't make a purchase -- just stopped in to see what it was like. The store itself looks fine and has a clean, organized feel. It reminded me a lot of Aldi, but with a stronger emphasis on organic and specialty items. The biggest downside was the checkout area. The registers are extremely close together and positioned right near the exit. Navigating through that space was difficult, and my wife had a hard time getting a stroller through. The layout feels cramped and not very family-friendly. Overall, a decent first impression, but the register setup made the experience less comfortable than expected. read more

I've had to change my opinion of TJs. The staff is still friendly, helpful and efficient, but TJs has opted to use canola and other unhealthy seed oils in all their condiments. I checked labels very carefully when they first opened and then became used to buying my favorite products and did not check any more; but when I tried to buy humus that was made with olive oil instead of seed oils I saw there was not a single one , out of at least a dozen, that did not have one bad oil or another. Now I check everything again and only buy produce here and one spaghetti sauce. Seed oils are mostly GMO in addition to being toxic to the liver, so I don't know how TJs can say their label assures the product is non-GMO. Either the COO does not know just how bad these seed oils are, or they do and choose mega-profit over quality. Sad.., read more

I want to commend the management of the Plano store for being so kind and helpful today! We were many of us stuck waiting under the protection of the over hang outside after shopping because of a down pour of a rain storm! I was awaiting a break with a dozen others who left their umbrellas in the far! I had my 2 year old grandson with me and a full shopping cart! Out of the store came an employee with a huge umbrella who proceeded to help us one by one get to our cars in the rain! She loaded my trunk while I put my grandson in the car!! Staffers are always great here especially the cashiers. That attitude is infectious and breath of fresh air. I will say their aisles can get quite crowded but that's just simply saying they get a lot of foot traffic every time we go anyways. They get new items every so often so it's nice to visit here after having not been in a while frequently. read more

Look, reviews like the one below is a joke. Did she come in to buy groceries or give reviews about how people "roll their eyes." This lady also has 3 reviews. She is one of those that only writes negative reviews. I'm Mexican and have always been greeted with a smile. Race does not matter here. Trader Joe's is a great place for good produce and genuine and unique foods. It is a little over priced and the checkout could be chaotic when the store is busy, but these people that give negative reviews for some BS is a joke. Im a regular at all Traders Joe I live in Plano but, I work at night so I shop all over the place.. My daughter it was her first experience. She live in McKinney so I decided to invite her to Plano location. Usually TJ Plano is a 5 star.. This Saturday 4/12 was a bad experience! The check out lady/cashier seems to not be sociable at all, including a frown on her face. My daughter noticed it as well.. When she was bagging our groceries she didn't have much to say. I did try to engage in a conversation she would answer and that's it. People do better! If you feel in any way you don't like your job or your just not feeling good, at least fake it, or call in. Becauseeeeee you make the establishment look bad! Too add...Maybe skin color played a part. Too bad! That's a YOU problem.... Work on that if so. My daughter was gonna talk to a mgr. I told her to ignore people like that. They don't fit my energy nor i don't have time for idiotic people. This is the world we live in.. Trader Joe on Preston Road Plano Texas do better with your staff in situations like this. And if she treated us ugly she will do it again! Everything really is bigger in Texas! This is one of the biggest Trader Joe's I have seen. First time coming to this Texas location and I was so pleased. Lots of items in stock. So much room for carts and activities. Plenty of workers to help you find what you need. I was impressed by the flower and plant assortment, the store setup, the ease of carts going through wide rows. It's great. Some items may not be available in each store. This location is always busy every register is usually full with 4+ people deep. But everyone is always so friendly and helpful, cashiers are efficient. The lines move quickly, & they are very appreciative when you bring your own bags. I have a few staples that I always pick up at TJ's. Highly recommend the Eggwich (breadless) breakfast sandwich, frozen linguini with pesto & tomatoes, green dragon hot sauce, EVOO huge bottle with a spout, frozen colorful carrot coins, frozen organic rainbow cauliflower to name a few. Check them out. In the fall they had a huge set up of pumpkins all sizes and colors. They always have beautiful plants/flowers and various sizes succulents. read more

We were coming home by the direction of Park/Preston so we decided to stop by this Trader Joe's. OMGosh, 30 people in line, in this heat to go shopping@4:30 on a Sunday!!!??? What's the Dill Pickle??? We haven't had to limit the amount of customers and there's no law since it July 11th, 2021!!!! My first visit to this location since moving back to Dallas last year. Gotta say, it's just as good if not better than I remembered! The store is spacious, intuitively laid out, and the staff are all SO helpful. They are out of the holiday-themed paper bags which I was bummed about. I inquired about their anticipated availability since I do my gift wrapping in them (always a hit with friends & family). There's not enough to say that even though people wrote on Yelp for this great customer services, clean, and neatly managed inside and outside, and affordable prices, in particular, amid COVID19 pandemic when most people would have more grocery shopping. People are always welcomed by the staffs smiling, cracking the jokes, giving carts cleaned by sanitizer spray at the entrance, even though endless crazy lines formed around the building from early in the morning. I am curious the staffs are always sane and make people happy. Inside is heaven with the freshest produce, breads, dairy products, meats and wines. Yesterday I found a bag of yeast and flour right away while I couldn't find anything at the Whole Food before. This time I made everything instead going out to lunch or dinner. Hamburger, pasta, sandwich, polenta breakfast, and bbqing at the backyard, even I am making bread and cookies. But there's enough to cook those things shopping at the TJ's. read more

Cheap and affordable fruits and veggies, DELICIOUS frozen foods, chocolates, snacks, etc... I am not hear to write about how great this place is (even though we ALL already know) . I want to commend Trader Joe's for taking the necessary and precautious steps in handling our current COVID 19 situation. When I tell you I felt extremely safe, I MEAN IT. They are going the nine miles in preventing the spread of the virus. From having limited capacity in the store, to making people wait outside, mandatory masks, constant cleaning, and social distancing. I just wanted to go out of my way to thank Trader Joe's because I have been going to different stores and do not see them taking the situation seriously, yea other stores are cleaning carts but ive seen shoppers walk around without mask without an employee stopping them. Did y'all know Trader Joe's opened its first store in Pasadena, California in 1976? More proof that the Golden State is the genesis of all things shiny and good *ducks* Anyways, a visit to this location feels like home when I see the standard shopper uniform which shakes out at 65% yoga pants and athleisure wear, and the rest a divide between hippy dippy and "I just came from work." The employees are consistently helpful and upbeat, and it's contagious 'cuz you can't help but smile with every interaction. Their unique offerings tho - so worth the trip all.the.way.to.Plano. My go tos (my love for slang and colloquialisms aside, the word "go tos" is aesthetically weird in this form, so I just spent ten minutes reading whether an apostrophe and hyphen are appropriate and feel unsatisfied with the answers) are snacky stuff to go with the Two Buck Chuck (that's surprisingly decent cheap wine for you n00bs), sauces that elevate dinner with minimal hassle, everything in the frozen section (the French onion soup with all the fixins is legit fine dining to be baked and served in a coffee cup), and the Everything but the Bagel spice, which works well on lotsa foods, including bagels. I do mourn the loss of carbs and sugar in my life because their cookie butter is everything, or I thought it was until cookie butter ice cream. Also, go to the frozen section and find the croissants - put them in the oven and let them rise overnight. Yes, that's a lot of premeditation (thinks about Mitch Hedberg's baked potato joke), but who doesn't always want some fresh, buttery, flaky, pastry goodness anytime in their life? Talk about a reason to get out of bed! Also the pineapple juice fresh, tangy island goodness in a carton. If you stop by the sample section, the ingredients to whatever they're cooking up will definitely end up in your cart - don't fight it. They also sell cute reusable shopping bags which I collect and forget every single time I come to shop here. If they start selling more alterna-carb stuff I will definitely come back more frequently. How could anyone in their right mind not absolutely LOVE this store? I have always received the best customer service more than anywhere I have ever shopped. You may say that they are just ok but you would have to be blind to the fact that they are constantly slammed and still find the time to go out of their way to help you or just breeze by and make a funny comment. Or how about the guy in the wine section just now ( I'm so mad that I can't remember his name because he was so awesome ) who stopped what he was doing to ask me if I had ever tasted the wine that I was checking out and then showed me around to some other ones that I may enjoy at a lesser price.
