The smooth buttercream frosting had just the right amount of sweetness, perfectly balancing the rich chocolate swirls and fresh, fruity strawberry layers. Did it say European pastries? We had absolutely no room for a single thing, but European? Traditionally European desserts are not heavy on the sugar, don't have all the food coloring, and additives. Ding Ding plus Ding my mind spins fast as my hubby is getting pulled at a rapid pace towards the door. He says "No Way" I say "For another time," as we don't live in the area. We walked in to see cases of pastry delights. I turn back as hubby dares not to enter entirely into the temptation. As I look back I see stacks of boxes, walk over to discover they are all pies! Anyone that knows me knows my last meal in life would consist of Berry Pie for dessert. I look and there it is a Mixed Berry. I turn and ask the lady after she was done with her customer how much for this delight? She said it's $24. Without question I grabbed said pie, and went to the register. I told her that Berry is my favorite, and she went on to say that every Friday is Pie Day. She also mentioned that if I ever needed anything in particular, I could call ahead. She could have it prepared for me. Wonderful lady and beautiful service. Might I add that a pie of this weight and stature normally runs about $35 even $40 in some places. We had a slice the next day because I could not bear it any longer. Without lie this is the best pie I've had in years!!!! Years or even perhaps ever. It has to be realized that if there is Berry Pie of any kind on the menu it will be ordered even to go. There were actual whole berries, and it was not full of sugar like some pies. I loved the dubai brownie when they last had it, so I ordered it again when it came back to the menu. When I ordered it in Modesto, it looks so even and perfect, but when I got it in Livermore, it looks so uneven and ugly. In Modesto, they serve it without the tray, but for some reason, in Livermore, they threw the whole puck with the tray into the box. We only ate a quarter piece at a time. Unfortunately there was a HAIR embedded in the top chocolate layer. Really really gross. I called the store to tell them, and they said if I wanted a replacement, I could come in, but if I wanted are refund, I'd have to wait until tomorrow for the manager would process the refund when they are on shift. Oct 3, 2025: I came in to get the refund and return the remainder 2 dubai brownies that we didnt eat. I also brought the piece that had the hair to show them. The lady offered me a replacement but I refused and wanted the refund. I noticed there were two other men working there. Although everyone had a cap on, one of the men had a beard that wasn't face covered. I've worked in food business before and from what I know, beards were not allowed due to sanitary reasons. Mustaches were ok, but beards were not.
