What a great way to treat yourself! Came the day after my birthday and I left with my scalp feeling squeaky clean. I set my reservation online based on what I thought I needed. When I came, they diagnosed my scalp by taking pictures and then recommended which treatment would be best for me which ended up being the Special Scalp Care Treatment. It was very relaxing (I was definitely hungover). I almost fell asleep while they were going to town on my scalp, it felt so nice! I do think the massage portion wasn't the greatest but otherwise it was a relaxed experience! Would definitely come back and even am considering being a member!

Quaint head spa in Burlingame. The staff here are a the best!! They are caring, makes sure your visit is satisfactory and works to stay on time. The massage was great and the best part is they use quality products like Olaplex!

I've been trying to make an appt at their San Jose location for months but they've become so popular they're booked months in advance or if you're lucky, you'll see an opening due to a cancellation. Of course, you best be at the ready as that appointment will get booked quick... After about 8 months of trying, H20 Head Care opens a 2nd location in Burlingame. This location seems a bit easier to book an appt online. My friend was able to find an opening for 2 for the same time (a month out) which makes for a great pamper day. I tend to hold most my tension in my face, head, neck, shoulders so I was really looking forward to a relaxing scalp treatment with massage. As another reviewer noted the description is a little misleading as it notes a massage with your treatment. It starts off with a very light, 5 min upper body massage and well...that was it! Hmm can't say it was beneficial as it was so quick...Next, was a wand scan of my scalp (shown on a monitor) showing I was oily with a recommendation of a double wash with a hair moisturizing mask. The treatment was very relaxing that I fell asleep while my therapist massaged my temples, lightly scrubbed my scalp and used their special rinsing contraption while you're zen-ing. Overall, a wonderful experience and would recommend the basic or intermediate treatment for your first visit. I can't say they customize based on your needs as my friend and I compared notes from our treatment and it seemed she got a double wash as well even after being told she had a dry scalp...not sure if they used different cleansers/shampoos...hmmm. Therapist were both very friendly and made sure you were comfortable and relaxed. At the end of your treatment they offer to dry your hair but opted to take over after she dried 1/2 way...my hair was noticeably softer and felt cleaner. A treatment I would indulge in once or twice a year. Olaplex products and brushes available to style your hair. Private parking lot shared with a liquor store. Smaller location to accommodate 2 guests in separate rooms.

Came here with my mom for her birthday and it was a very fun experience. This is a smaller studio so they can only accept 2 guests at a time, and each guest gets their own room. I really appreciated the privacy and then calmness of the environment. The studio was very clean and our scalp and hair felt cleaned and refresh after the session. They started off the visit with a back massage, which was a pleasant surprise, then the scalp treatment, and finally they blow dry your hair. They had a camera to show me my scalp before the treatment, however did not show me the after-treatment view. I wished I got to see if my scalp truly looked different afterwards. Additionally, I also preferred if they would tell me what they're doing each step of the way without me needing to ask. Aside from that, I had a wonderful experience!

Made an appointment for my mom and I to experience the beginner head care. I booked about two months in advance because this place is so popular! You can sometimes get lucky with last minute cancellations though. They have two treatment rooms, so while I was able to get my mom and I the same appointment time, we were in separate rooms. The outside is pretty unassuming and in a plaza, but the inside is neat and modern-looking. For my treatment I had CC: -started with a back massage (you will have to remove all your upper body clothing for the entire treatment) -she took pictures of my scalp and explained to me what she saw (I appreciated her saying that the beginner treatment was enough for my scalp needs! Felt nice that she wasn't pushing for me to spend more) -after pictures, she did a deep wash of my hair, used various tools on my scalp, scalp massage, did a neck/shoulder massage, steamed my hair -she showed me after pictures of my scalp -ended with her blow drying my hair and applying olaplex products! -she went 20min over the time even though I was 10min late! So patient and nice of her. They are offering 20% off right now since the Burlingame location is new, which made the beginner head spa ~$110 after I tipped. Definitely a "treat yourself" experience, but it was super relaxing and I recommend trying it especially while the deal lasts!

I had to try this hair trend seen on ig & tik tok. Easy online appointments. Small shop with 2-3 rooms. Sweetest ladies working here. Relaxing and hair feels great after. A thorough discussion about your hair and scalp. Hair images from hair scan is quite fascinating. It's pricey for me $180 without tip. I'll do it 2-3 times a year. Small parking lot shared with other stores.

5/5 - Absolute Perfection for My First Head Spa Experience!…read more I just had my first-ever head spa experience, and I cannot recommend this place enough! I opted for the Full Detox treatment, and it was worth every penny. Here is why this place is a hidden gem: 1. Tailored & Educated Approach: I wanted to learn more about my hair loss, and the staff truly listened to my concerns. They took the time to educate me, explain every product, and give me a realistic guidance plan that I am absolutely going to use. (That said, if you just want to zone out and relax, I'm certain they'd accommodate that too!) 2. Next-Level Relaxation: The service was so incredible and luxurious that I kept falling asleep. They pay attention to the tiniest details, like asking if I wanted my feet covered and providing a perfectly weighted blanket. 3. Private & Cozy Atmosphere: It's a smaller space, but they utilize it beautifully. When a second customer arrived, they seamlessly transitioned us into separate rooms so the experience still felt entirely private and exclusive. 4. Zero Pressure: The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming. Best of all? They did not try to oversell me on products. The pricing felt completely reasonable and fair for the high quality of service I received. If you're on the fence about booking, just do it. You'll leave feeling relaxed, educated, and pampered!

Way past his stellar education that spans Havard and Stanford, his endless patents and inventions around cutting edge approaches to hair transplantation, is his deep love for people and a commitment to excellence. The nurses who were involved in my procedures were not focused, mingling amongst one another/distracted, it was very unprofessional. I went to one of the top surgeons in the world located in Sofia, Bulgaria Dr. Zarev for a consultation. Arguably one of the best surgeons in the world when dealing with high Norwood cases. The grafts placed in my hairline didn't look natural at all. A lot of gaps, no single grafts along the hairline, and very pluggy appearance, and large punch sizes, a lot of see through due to the grafts not being placed in an angle. Dr. Zarev told me I would be a repair case. A surgeons job to over see and Dr. Canales failed at that. In my follow ups with Dr. Canales it just seemed like he didn't care about my concerns. My growth in the crown from the transplant never grew and he kept saying they will grow and that was 2 year follow up. I have learned a lot about hair transplants in the last few years and have learned from my mistakes in terms of choosing a surgeon. Thankfully even after my botched hair transplants I have 8,800 grafts left for a lifetime with Dr. Zarev the surgeon I consulted with due to higher level of donor management and tools. This clinic is amateur in comparison to other clinics abroad and technology is behind. Do your research! Go on the hair transplant network forum and research these Dr's. The results are sub par they don't look natural and the thing with hair transplants you want them to look like nothing ever happened. And don't be fooled by Dr. Canales in studio cameras. The lighting favors the results, but when you look in close view or sunlight the results are not there. Yes you will never get your original density as you once did. But there are clinics that will mitigate the see through effect on transplants. Nurses should not be implanting grafts it should be the surgeon! They should only sort the grafts into single, doubles, and triples. The surgeon at the end should implant them. Hope this helps. A hair transplant is a really personal thing and important if you don't have a surgeon who is involved and cares they can ruin your donor.

Her friendly but professional no-nonsense approach is so refreshing, especially after all the bad experiences I've had lately in trying to solve my thinning hair problem. I bought many toppers online claiming to be real hair, none of them worked, color was off, style was off and they are all in the garbage now! Then I went to another "hair loss specialist"salon also in San Mateo and was required to pay $100.00 for a consultation which was really about selling me extensions that are glued in and need redoing frequently at a hefty charge. This is after I clearly said I didn't want extensions. I was offered the option of buying a topper that would cost over $3k. There were no sample toppers in various styles to try on before sinking thousands of dollars site unseen and not returnable. The only samples there were to show color and all were long straight hair, no shorter styles, nothing curly. You'd basically need to special order it and fingers crossed, you like it because there are no returns. Why she couldn't have purchased some samples herself to have for potential customers to try before buy, I don't know..... I was also required to sign a legal contract before my consultation stating that I won't write a negative review, and allowing a photo release. And a bunch of other no-no's. All just to be ABLE to come in! None of this ridiculousness with Kelly though, just good products, displaying lots of sample styles and colors to try on and choose from. Great products, great service and prices that are literally HALF the cost of the other salon and fast too!, less than a week! I'll be a lifetime happy customer of Kelly Dinger!

A couple of years ago, I decided to invest in a mesh-integrated system from an out-of-state salon to cover my hair loss. This system was somewhat less expensive than the piece Em created for me, but it ultimately cost me much more in so many different ways. I paid more out of pocket during each visit, I enjoyed the system for less than half of the time that I wore it, and I learned to ignore the truly severe discomfort I experienced following each visit. Then, I moved to SF and I found Emily and the Bond Hair Bar team. Not only do they excel in timeliness and creating a personalized piece that is gorgeous, but the salon is filled with warmth and an energy that instantly lets you know that you're in caring, capable, and trustworthy hands. I started with a consult and was fitted with a personalized piece a couple days later...give them a call and schedule a consult!

I don't normally write reviews, but after a distressing and painful experience, I feel obligated to…read moreshare what happened. I came in specifically for a consultation and service regarding sew-in wefts, wanting to switch to a thinner weft method. Instead of listening, Emily repeatedly insisted that I didn't have enough hair for extensions and pressured me to shave my head for a glued topper. (I have since consulted three other Bay Area extension specialists, and all three confirmed I have plenty of hair for thinner wefts.) When I refused to shave my head, she pushed a clip-in topper priced at $X,XXX, which I later discovered retails elsewhere for roughly $650. During that same visit, she cut my existing extensions far too short. We nonetheless placed an order for the new thinner wefts. On installation day, the newly ordered wefts arrived in completely the wrong color due to a lack of proper color swatches during our initial consultation. Most frustratingly, I explicitly requested from my very first booking that only Emily perform the work, as I was paying for senior-level expertise. Instead, she handed me off to an assistant to reinstall my old wefts, then acted as though waiving the reinstallation fee was a favor--even though the reinstallation was only necessary because of her initial color-matching mistake. Within 48 hours, the tension and pain from the assistant's installation became severe. Another salon had to perform an emergency removal, documenting visible scalp redness, tension, and inflammation (see attached photo). When I reached out to Emily regarding the severe pain and improper tension, there was zero concern for my scalp health or safety. Instead of checking the work, she responded with immediate hostility, condescension, and intimidation. Her direct text response: "Where are you at? I need to come and have a face-to-face conversation with you and this is not gonna go back-and-forth. Vxxxxx would not be on my schedule if she did not do good work. If she placed them too lightly, you would complain they're getting loose and falling out of your head and causing hair loss also if theres room to pull, do you understand me? It is not rocking science to learn how to do this on a doll head for six months straight. She does the same work I do. She does not want them to fall out of your head. Because then your issue would be a different issue they're falling out and you wanna come back and have them replaced. Unless you're gonna come in and have a face-to-face conversation, I do not expect to hear another text back from you. Thank you for your understanding. Lastly, I don't need to hear your rationalization about how long someone should be practicing one service in your eyes to be good at what they do. She's doing my work exactly as I've trained her to do for over six months on a doll head. Thank u and good bye" Final takeaway: While I initially booked here based on many positive reviews, my experience proved that true professionalism isn't measured when things go smoothly, it is measured by how a business responds when something goes wrong. When a client explicitly requests an experienced senior stylist to avoid injury, handing them off to an assistant and justifying it by saying they 'practiced on a doll head' is completely unacceptable, especially when it results in real scalp inflammation and pain. When a client reports pain, demanding face-to-face confrontations, talking down to them, and issuing ultimatums is entirely unprofessional. Past good reviews never excuse hostility. Every client deserves respect, and client safety and consent must always come before ego.
