So very, very disappointed, angry, brokenhearted and devastated with the removal of the glued on topper that Emily had promised me would not damage my own hair. The $3000 topper she sold me was shedding so profusely that there were hairs all over my entire house from this thing just shedding on its own everywhere. When I finally had it removed after 2 1/2 months Emily of course was out of town so her aid removed it and when she did so she removed most of my hair on top of my head. It was the most painful situation I've been through in a very long time. She was lying to me and telling me it was natural shedding that she was removing when in fact, I have no hair left on top of my head so now it is very difficult for me to go back to my clip in toppers because I have so little hair left. I have been working so hard for the last two years to get my hair to grow back and it was doing so much better. Emily promised me that the solution to remove the glue was easy Peezy and would come right off NOT damage my own hair. It was excruciating. I was the first client of the morning, so I looked in the garbage can and saw the piles of my hair in there so I know how much came out. Things for you to think about before you EVER agree to have anything glued to your head by Emily. The cost of this piece is really expensive as I've priced it out with other pieces so her prices are high. The quality of her pieces are subpar as they literally shed all the time. And the itching is unbearable. No matter how often you wash it. She told me I should just shave my head to make it easier? WTF? She also doesn't mention that you will need to come back every six weeks to have this taken off and reapplied and that's $450 a visit. She also doesn't give you full instructions on how to care for it, how to wash it properly. She will tell you in a hurry while she's doing 3 other things... oh by the way, go to YouTube look at my videos! I told her in person that wasn't adequate, she needed to have more information available on how to care for these. The removal is brutal! Her commercial grade glue does not come off easily and they literally just pull your hair out! My scalp was so damaged! And if you read the reviews and you go down to the hidden reviews, you will see other people saying the exact same thing that I am saying. I started losing hair a month ago. I tried a new shampoo to put some volume in my hair. My head started to itch like crazy and my hair started falling out. I tried different shampoos and anti itch medicine. I went to my primary doctor and she gave me a topical steroid to apply to a bald spot that's getting bigger, referred me to a dermatologist who I can't get an appointment with til May. That's about 2 and a half months wait. I will be bald by then. I'm losing so much hair, I' afraid of touching it. My hair has gotten so thin that I'm starting to look like Gollum. I needed a wig to hide my bald spot and thinning scalp til I can actually get treatment. Then came Emily, I came upon her when I did an alopecia treatment search. What she said made sense. With the itching and the hair loss, it makes sense that my scalp is trying to protect itself and telling me to stop putting poison in it. Emily told me to do a baking soda and vinegar wash at home. I was really looking forward to this appointment after completing months of chemo and cold capping. I was interested in a halo extension, which is the most gentle solution for a fragile scalp and follicles. She claims to be a hair loss specialist, but she was not informed and disregarded the need to be gentle with my hair/scalp. I suggest she read basic info on any cold capping site. The appointment lasted 15 minutes max and was a waste of time. She did not provide any guidance about proper fitting of a halo extension, ideas for coloring my hair, etc which I've been longing for. Separately, she required me to fill out an intake form which asks for personal info like job title and address. And no one else was in the salon. --READ THE HIDDEN REVIEWS, TOO!-- The hair I purchased and had installed here is atrocious. I could go into great detail about my experience but I don't want to get worked up. I blindly trusted this process and was proven a fool because of it; my pockets a lot lighter and my hair in worse shape than I started. Point blank, the owner, self proclaimed "best in the Bay Area", has standards that are mediocre -at best. The hair quality was crap from the get-go, but after more wear it began to shed EXCESSIVELY. I don't believe the technique she used to install is appropriate for my hair type bc I was left with two bald spots and tons of little hairs with bulbs attached to the sew-in, that have been pulled out by the heaviness of the weft. If Emily invested as much money and intention into the QUALITY of her product, as she does in marketing as an attempt to bolster her online reputation, she would probably actually be more successful. She didn't even touch my hair or consider any other solution, just looked at it from a foot away and immediately insisted there was nothing to be done extensions-wise. Salon was closed when I arrived and had to wait for owner to come and open after the scheduled appointment time. This review is long, long, long overdue. So let me start with the short version: GO SEE EMILY. If you are reading this, don't even hesitate. Emily is the absolute BEST at her craft, particularly if you are looking for a hairstylist who actually understands what it means to service someone struggling with any sort of hair issue. She is NOT your average stylist--she goes above and beyond and actually has the knowledge, tools and creativity to help you look and feel your absolute best. Now here's the long version: I found Emily and Bond Hair Bar back in March--desperate for something to help me manage my trichtillomania. My issue has never been pulling out my hair from the follicle, but rather breaking off ends so badly that it resulted in severe, severe breakage on the crown of my head. I'm talking mullet-type breakage. At one point, it got so unmanageable that even after getting extensions in at another salon (before finding Emily), I broke the hair off the top of my head so badly that I was legitimately afraid I would no longer be able to hide my extension wefts. That's when I went searching for a solution and discovered Emily. I called her and had a wonderful 30 min conversation with her over the phone about my issues and needs. I was interested in her hair toppers, so she suggested I come in for a consultation. Within a few days, I was in Emily's chair being matched for a clip-in topper for the crown of my head. Within a week, I was back to pick up my perfectly color-matched topper (which even had a root melt to make it look super natural!). Throughout the whole process, Emily was kind, supportive and just made me feel so comfortable. Very few people know about my issue, and I had no problem opening up to Emily. She really normalized my experience and focused on solutions. Nearly two months later, I use my clip-in topper all the time and it's literally changed my life. It's been a huge asset alongside my regular therapy, giving me hope that I can and am overcoming. Not only do feel I super confident, but the topper serves as a protective barrier for my natural hair underneath, giving it the space it needs to actually grow. Curly hair girls, go somewhere else! Based on all the good reviews, I really wanted to like this place. When I went in, I got a haircut + deep condition treatment + hair extension consultation. When my hair was getting washed, the other employees kept telling my stylist that someone else needed the washing station so she rushed. My entire back got wet in the process and after, she didn't clean the station up very well (Covid concern). The deep conditioning treatment made my hair feel great but my haircut wasn't awesome. It was one of the fastest cuts I've ever had, which was shocking when it costs $125. She also really tried to push me to buy her products. I felt really uncomfortable when she put some of her product in my hair and then walked me around the salon to show her employees how to style curly hair. Finally, the extension consultation was not worth $75. She didn't really have extensions available for my texture hair and quoted me $1800 for tape-in extensions. Oh, and she also removed her mask during this time. Upon check-out, she accidentally double-charged me and then pushed me again to buy her product. "It's only $30!" It came off very sassy and a bit demeaning so I gave in, and just bought it. I came here for a "treat yourself" kinda day but really just felt stressed out the entire time. For $300+ I wouldn't recommend this (especially) to curly haired girls. read more

I really can't say enough how much this woman has changed my life. Emily took me from being very self conscious and feeling very negative about my appearance, to feeling like an absolute diva. Many people have commented that I am "back to my real self" or "look 10 years younger" or "seem so much happier," all of which I believe are true. The before and after pictures are pretty dramatic, but what's more dramatic is the effect these extensions have had on my life. I had sew-in extensions. The procedure took about 2.5 hours and was not painful or uncomfortable at all. First she braided the top of my hair, then sewed in the hair we had chosen. They cost $$$ but were totally worth it. Emily is extremely skilled, you can tell that after just a few minutes of working with her. She has confidence and pride in her work. She practiced for a long time on her craft, and she can really transform a person. I really recommend her to people who have hair loss, alopecia, or just really short hair that they are unhappy with. She knows many techniques to work with a small amount of hair to give someone their dream hair.
